Canceling My Netflix Subscription Exactly 10 Years After Signing Up
**The Bittersweet Goodbye to Netflix**
As I sit here recording this video on December 28th, I have to admit that it's making me a bit sad. It's not a good thing for me to say goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of my life and entertainment routine for the past decade. But, alas, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my Netflix account.
It's not an easy choice to make, especially considering how much I've grown to love this platform over the years. With its vast library of content, including original series like "The Office," which has been a staple in my household for far too long, it's hard to imagine life without it. But, as I reflect on my usage habits and the current state of their offerings, I have come to realize that it's time for me to move on.
One of the main reasons for my decision is the lack of content that truly interests me anymore. With so many other streaming services available, such as Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube Premium, which offer a vast array of titles and original series, I just don't feel like Netflix deserves my money anymore. The Office leaving was the final nail in the coffin for me. It's not that I'm anti-NETFLIX; I love the platform, but with great power comes great responsibility, and I feel that they've lost their way a bit.
Another reason for my decision is the fact that I've been feeling a bit... burnt out on Netflix lately. With so much content available, it can be hard to keep up with new shows and movies, especially when you're watching alone. And let's be real, some of the Christmas movies they offer just aren't that great. Don't get me wrong; I love Christmas, but there are better ways to spend your holiday season than watching a mediocre rom-com.
Now, before I continue, I want to acknowledge that this might come as a shock to some of you, especially those who have grown up with Netflix and consider it an integral part of their entertainment routine. But, let me assure you, my decision is not taken lightly. As someone who has access to thousands of titles through Plex, which is an incredible resource in itself, I feel that I can now explore other options without feeling the need for Netflix.
Speaking of which, I've been meaning to check out some new horror movies lately, and I've heard great things about a particular one called "The Shining." Perhaps I'll give it a watch before my account is fully up. Who knows? But for now, it's time for me to say goodbye to Netflix.
**A Look Back at the Past 10 Years**
As I think back on the past decade, I have to admit that it's hard to believe how much has changed. It feels like just yesterday I was discovering new shows and movies through Netflix, and now... well, here we are. The Office was one of those shows that brought me back to Netflix time and time again, and its departure is still a bit of an adjustment.
But even with all the changes, there's no denying that Netflix has been a game-changer in the world of entertainment. It's brought us some amazing original series, movies, and documentaries that have pushed the boundaries of what we consider "good" content. And for that, I'm truly grateful.
**A New Beginning**
So, as I close out this chapter on my life with Netflix, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have watched me grow and evolve over the years. It's been an absolute pleasure sharing my thoughts and opinions with you, even if we don't always see eye-to-eye.
As for what's next, well... let's just say that I'm excited to explore new horizons with Plex. The access to thousands of titles is a dream come true, and I'm eager to dive in and discover some amazing content.
So, until next time, stay entertained, and remember: it's always better to game than it is to watch (just kidding, guys... or am I?).
