Canceling My Netflix Subscription Exactly 10 Years After Signing Up

**The Bittersweet Goodbye to Netflix**

As I sit here recording this video on December 28th, I have to admit that it's making me a bit sad. It's not a good thing for me to say goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of my life and entertainment routine for the past decade. But, alas, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my Netflix account.

It's not an easy choice to make, especially considering how much I've grown to love this platform over the years. With its vast library of content, including original series like "The Office," which has been a staple in my household for far too long, it's hard to imagine life without it. But, as I reflect on my usage habits and the current state of their offerings, I have come to realize that it's time for me to move on.

One of the main reasons for my decision is the lack of content that truly interests me anymore. With so many other streaming services available, such as Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube Premium, which offer a vast array of titles and original series, I just don't feel like Netflix deserves my money anymore. The Office leaving was the final nail in the coffin for me. It's not that I'm anti-NETFLIX; I love the platform, but with great power comes great responsibility, and I feel that they've lost their way a bit.

Another reason for my decision is the fact that I've been feeling a bit... burnt out on Netflix lately. With so much content available, it can be hard to keep up with new shows and movies, especially when you're watching alone. And let's be real, some of the Christmas movies they offer just aren't that great. Don't get me wrong; I love Christmas, but there are better ways to spend your holiday season than watching a mediocre rom-com.

Now, before I continue, I want to acknowledge that this might come as a shock to some of you, especially those who have grown up with Netflix and consider it an integral part of their entertainment routine. But, let me assure you, my decision is not taken lightly. As someone who has access to thousands of titles through Plex, which is an incredible resource in itself, I feel that I can now explore other options without feeling the need for Netflix.

Speaking of which, I've been meaning to check out some new horror movies lately, and I've heard great things about a particular one called "The Shining." Perhaps I'll give it a watch before my account is fully up. Who knows? But for now, it's time for me to say goodbye to Netflix.

**A Look Back at the Past 10 Years**

As I think back on the past decade, I have to admit that it's hard to believe how much has changed. It feels like just yesterday I was discovering new shows and movies through Netflix, and now... well, here we are. The Office was one of those shows that brought me back to Netflix time and time again, and its departure is still a bit of an adjustment.

But even with all the changes, there's no denying that Netflix has been a game-changer in the world of entertainment. It's brought us some amazing original series, movies, and documentaries that have pushed the boundaries of what we consider "good" content. And for that, I'm truly grateful.

**A New Beginning**

So, as I close out this chapter on my life with Netflix, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have watched me grow and evolve over the years. It's been an absolute pleasure sharing my thoughts and opinions with you, even if we don't always see eye-to-eye.

As for what's next, well... let's just say that I'm excited to explore new horizons with Plex. The access to thousands of titles is a dream come true, and I'm eager to dive in and discover some amazing content.

So, until next time, stay entertained, and remember: it's always better to game than it is to watch (just kidding, guys... or am I?).

guys december 28th 2010. wait why are they sending me an email at 7 11 in the morning i don't know either way like exactly 10 years to the dates guys 10 years later 10 years after creating my netflix account i have decided to cancel it and i figured why not make a video about this because i think it's kind of a drastic thing because i love netflix i'm a netflix addict i typically have netflix playing in the background even when i'm not really watching it for instance i stream on twitch monday wednesday friday and saturday and even guys yeah i mean even when i don't stream on twitch i still love netflix playing in the background as i'm doing my pc gaming and console game whatever you know basically i love having background material i'm a netflix addict that's all i'm trying to say i am a netflix addict even when i'm not really watching it i kind of am watching it i just love netflix so much but with the recent announcements of the office leaving netflix check this out the office trying to type around my uh microphone here the office leaving netflix right here listen to this actually now i'm not gonna have it speak the end of an era is approaching the office will leave netflix on january 1st and exclusively move over to peacock i'm not going to be using peacock no thank you nbc universal's streaming service peacock confirmed the january 1st launch date today and explained how viewers can watch all 201 episodes of the show minus season 9 because that season is just an absolute mess from a writer's perspective just my opinion you know just my opinion i thought season nine mostly was a mess but overall the office will always be a favorite show of mine and yes i've known about this for what almost two years now this is not news we have all known the office is leaving netflix for the longest time now but that date is finally here guys in just a few days my favorite show of all time my favorite comedy of all time will officially be leaving netflix it is what it is it's gonna happen sooner or later and honestly you can't blame nbc for going this route well because they know people are going to pay that fee me personally no i'm done i'm done i mean with the office leaving and in my opinion netflix becoming less and less interesting each month i don't know if it's because of covid but do you guys agree like netflix for me lately has just been kind of boring there's not a ton of content to watch now and then you might find a good tv show or two or a movie too to keep you busy and then once you're done you're asking yourself okay now what hey guys honestly between my access to youtube plex especially like i have access to literally thousands of movies i'm not overusing the word literally like literally thousands of movies and my amazon prime video which i rarely use apparently prime video is pretty good and well guys come on i'm an amazon prime member i use it all the time for shipping stuff and whatever i mean for ordering stuff and getting it shipped for you know quote unquote free but i rarely use prime membership in terms of video so i'm going to start doing that so that's one of the biggest reasons why i'm leaving netflix today is because the office is leaving and it's the lack of content number two i recently treated myself to an xbox series x and my big plan for 2021 and guys keep in mind i'm a big gamer so this is very very important to me i put way too much time into these aaa titles like modern warfare well warzone lately cold war and all that stuff like they're great games don't get me wrong they're great games and i'm not going to stop playing them anytime soon but in terms of off stream yeah i only stream again monday wednesday friday and saturday if i'm off you know off on tuesdays and thursdays then i want to start putting some of that free time into more gaming and less watching so with my xbox series x that console alone has motivated me has inspired me to sign up for game pass again so in a way i'm going to be transferring my payment over from netflix to xbox and while i just think gaming is a lot better for you than watching just sitting on your butt and just consuming all this information yeah it's great it's fun it's enjoyable but it's a proven study it's a proven fact guys it's science it's better to game than it is to watch because your mind is constantly thinking you're improving your hand eye coordination your reaction time all those kinds of skills you know kind of sound like freaking napoleon dynamite over here so yeah that's why i'm leaving netflix lack of content the office is leaving and i got an xbox series x and i'm trying to give it more attention so with that said let's go to netflix and by the way check out this old email look how dated this looks so i wouldn't normally create a video about this you know i don't i don't think it's the most interesting thing to talk about but i figured with it being exactly exactly 10 years later and keep in mind most of you aren't gonna see this until january because christmas 2020 yeah that whole series is going live in early january and then i'll be releasing this video and then my xbox series x unboxing because i'd like to have an order to things but um yeah for me this is being recorded on january december 28th so here we go i gotta say this is actually making me kind of sad and yeah i amazon prime video and youtube like there's so much to consume now could i come crawling back to netflix maybe i mean i'm not gonna lie i'm not gonna pretend to be anti-netflix because i'm not anti-netflix i love netflix i'm a big big fan but with the lack of content and uh you know the office leaving i i don't feel like they deserve my money so here we go after 10 fun years i'm canceling my netflix accounts three two one we're always improving our service other you took away keep in mind my microphone is huge so it's blocking my hands you took away the office actually let's use um
