Best Budget Speaker - Anker Soundcore 1 and Soundcore 2 Review

**Hands-On Review: Anker Soundcore Speakers**

In this review, I'll be putting two speakers from the popular Anker Soundcore brand to the test. The first speaker is the original Soundcore, and the second is the Soundcore 2. Both speakers are designed for Bluetooth connectivity and have a number of similarities, but also some key differences.

**Design and Build Quality**

Both speakers have a compact design, making them easy to take on the go. They both have a standard 3.5 millimeter audio jack on the sides, which is convenient for connecting external devices like phones or music players. The Soundcore 2 has a few design upgrades over the original, including a rubber door that seals tightly to protect against water and dust. This seal is what gives the Soundcore 2 its IPX7 rating, while the original Soundcore has an IPX5 rating. However, both speakers have a rugged exterior that can withstand minor drops and bumps.

The only real visual difference between the two speakers is the rounded edge of the Soundcore 2's outer casing. This design choice provides additional protection against accidental drops, but it also adds a bit of weight to the speaker. Both speakers have standard buttons for power, volume, play/pause, and pairing with Bluetooth devices. These buttons are easy to see and press, even in low-light conditions.

**Battery Life**

One of the standout features of both speakers is their incredible battery life. According to Anker's specifications, both speakers can provide up to 24 hours of continuous playback support. I've personally used these speakers for extended periods without issue, easily getting a full day of use and still having plenty of power left over.

However, there is one key difference between the two speakers' battery lives: the Soundcore 2 has slightly enhanced audio processing that affects its battery life. This means that if you're looking for an even more immersive sound experience, the Soundcore 2 may be the better choice – but it also comes at a cost in terms of longevity.

**Sound Quality**

So how do these speakers actually sound? In short, they're excellent. The Anker Soundcore speakers are designed to provide clear, rich sound that's perfect for listening to music or podcasts while relaxing at home. They won't shake the room with deep bass like some other high-end speakers might, but they more than make up for it in terms of clarity and detail.

I've had the pleasure of using both speakers in my own setup, and I can attest that the sound quality is top-notch. Whether you're listening to a favorite song or podcast, these speakers will transport you to another world.

**Comparison: Soundcore 1 vs Soundcore 2**

One question that's been on my mind since trying out the Soundcore 2 is whether it's worth upgrading from the original. In terms of sound quality, I wouldn't say there's a huge difference between the two speakers – both are excellent in their own right.

However, if you're looking for a more immersive audio experience with a bit more bass punch, the Soundcore 2 might be the better choice. Just keep in mind that this comes at a cost in terms of battery life, which is slightly shorter than the original speaker.

Ultimately, the decision between these two speakers comes down to personal preference and your specific needs. If you want an affordable, reliable Bluetooth speaker with great sound quality, both options are excellent choices.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Anker Soundcore speakers. Both the original and Soundcore 2 models offer excellent sound quality, long battery life, and a rugged design that can withstand minor accidents. Whether you're looking for an affordable entry-point into Bluetooth speaker technology or a more premium option with enhanced audio processing, these speakers are definitely worth considering.

I have found that the sound Core 1 has a better battery life than the sound core 2. why is that well I'll explain more in the next sound category but in general the sound Core 2 has a slightly enhanced audio pipeline for a fuller Sound and Bass which does affect the battery life but my experience it really hasn't affected the usability of the device at all but I just wanted to make sure you are aware if you're deciding between either of these speakers So speaking in terms of sound quality this is where the review gets real if you get these speakers you should expect great sound quality but not a deep bass experience that you might expect if you have ever used a Harman Kardon or a Bose speaker because those are high-end speakers that have a extremely high sensitive bass this is because the bass you get it from a speaker ties directly into the battery life of the device the more Bass the higher you push the device and the more battery suffers case in point my friend does have the Harman Kardon satellite speaker and that speaker dies on us all the time and we always go back to the reliable anchor now don't get me wrong these two speakers have great excellent audio quality even though Anker promotes them as having their exclusive base up technology don't expect to shake the room with a tiny device like this in terms of the like the real world difference though in song quality the sound Core 2 does have a bit more of an enhanced bass sound and experience but like I said before that does affect the battery life while the battery life is still excellent the sound Core 2 does not last as long as the original sound core so you can make your decision and trade off if you decide to pick either of these up but with all that said I still want to say that the sound that comes from both of these speakers is nice rich comfortable to listen to great at parties full side or just hang out with your friends and both provide the next excellent listening experience so what do you think are you gonna pick either of these up for yourself if so let me know which one also I truly think that these sorts of Hands-On reviews are important to help people make a good decision when spending their heart earned cash so if you think so please just click like on the video let me know that you agree and consider subscribing if you want to see more videos like this again thanks for your time for watching and this is Carl from technical goodies and I'm outso there are about 1.5 gazillion Bluetooth speakers on the market so how do you pick which one you want to buy let alone pick a budget Bluetooth speaker that is an absolute garbage and takes all the boxes from affordability to sound quality to battery life to ruggedness the list goes on and on well that's what your boy's here for and these two are on the top of my list what's up everybody this is Carl from techful goodies and today we are taking a look at both the anchor sound core original speaker and the anchor sound Core 2 portable Bluetooth outdoor speakers and the top three reasons that either of these speakers should be a consideration and help you decide if they're going to work for you full disclosure I have owned and heavily used the original sound core here since 2016. and I loved it so much that I bought another sound Core 2 in 2017. not because the original wood had any issues but because I wanted another one to keep in my car for use when I'm out and about so rest assured these look a little rugged and Rough and Ready but they have been fully tested so let's talk about the build quality of these Anker soundcore speakers both speakers are fairly lightweight but they feel extremely solid and durable in your hand so for example I have no issue banging them on the table letting you hear how they sound not super duper lightweight but feel super durable I've had speakers in the past that feel like if you drop them even from a little bit they will Dent or even shatter I would have no issue tossing these to a friend with no concerns for accidental drops or anything like that they're both cased in kind of a durable protective rubber coating around the outside edge as you can see here and that provides a good decent amount of extra sort of Bounce slash drop protection they're both waterproof to the IP standard with the original sound core here being ipx5 waterproof and the sound Core 2 being ipx7 waterproof and for reference the IP rating on devices is like an international protection standard rating to describe how a device holds up to dust water and other potential harmful substances in this case the number five which this is the ipx5 waterproof and the ipx7 is the waterproof rating on a scale from zero to nine so not a hundred percent waterproof but I've never had an issue with spills or light rain but I definitely wouldn't recommend full submersion of the speakers or any sort of electronics unless they're fully IP rated both are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 for a quick and easy connection and our spec to maintain a connection distance from about 60 feet away in addition to the Bluetooth both speakers have a 3.5 millimeter audio jack on the sides I personally use the sound core one as my sound bar that sits under my monitor to provide external sound for my computer both speakers charge via a small micro USB port here on the side with the only difference being that the sound Core 2 actually comes with a rubber door that I'll put a picture up here because I took it off one time and managed to lose it but it comes with a little sealable rubber door and I think that's where the ipx5 versus the ipx7 comes in as far as the waterproof protection on the top of both devices you have standard buttons of power volume down play volume up and the button for pairing with Bluetooth all easy to see easy to push and the only real Visual and build quality difference between the two speakers is that the sound Core 2 has a bit more of a rounded outside rubbery Edge which gives a little bit more protection for drops but at the same time the sound core one still has a pretty robust protection okay so now on to battery life here is where I cannot say enough about these two speakers my goal when using a Bluetooth speaker is to be able to play music and there is absolutely nothing worse than being at a party or using a Bluetooth speaker and having it die on you the battery life of these two speakers is astonishing and I am not exaggerating when I started using the sound Core 1 here I kept thinking to myself am I ever going to need to charge it both are spec to have a 24-hour continuous playback support and I've personally use them in the house or at a party for 12 hours or more and still have plenty of battery life left there is however a difference in the battery life between the sound Core 1 and the sound core 2.
