Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update & New features

**Google Now: The Intelligent Virtual Assistant**

It is really uh good and it displays information in cards if it can't get the information in cards it displays the Google search and you can also ask some questions to it for example let us try a couple of questions now who's the president of United States. The president of United States of America is Barack Obama, as you can notice the voice is also really uh natural it's not a robotic voice and it works pretty fine. Who's the president of Russia? The president of Russia is Vladimir Putin.

We can also ask some simple questions for example uh show me the images of Mount Everest. So sometimes it does not recognize uh uh let me try it again show me images of Mount Everest and as you can see it pulls up the images, uh so it's really easy and I that you can also do some uh simple ma mathematical equations with the same for example what's 25 multiplied by 6? The answer is 150. So as you can see it's really fast this thing I like, there is a very little delay uh and it it can also do additions. What's 45 + 5? The answer is 30 sometimes it misses, I asked 45 say 25 I guess it it needs to get used to my accent.

We can also do some simple task like set alarms let me show you that set an alarm for 5:00 p.m. today setting alarm so as you can see uh this Google now uh is really improved and the voice recognition is also really nice and now it has set an alarm for me now if I just go to the alarms and as you can see it has set this alarm for 5:00 p.m.

I'm just going to remove it, delete this alarm so uh I've just started playing with this uh Google now and I uh find it really interesting and uh if it doesn't understand it gives a icon like this. So this Google Now is pretty nice. I am sure you can do a lot more tricks with this if you have been using Google now. I'll uh like to know how you're using it and what other things it can do.

Another thing that has been improved and actually it was improved in ic is the voice typing but I feel uh it has been improved a lot more now for example uh these days for writing up short messages I'm not using the keyboard I'm just using the voice typing and I'm going to show you that. I'm busy now, I'll call you later and as you can see it does a pretty good job of typing. I would say the accuracy is around 90 to 95% and uh one more thing that uh this uh Jelly Bean 4.1 update has improved a lot is that previously if you wanted to do this you need to be connected to a 3G or a Wi-Fi connection but now we have the offline mode.

Now I'm just going to go in the airplane mode, that means my cellular and Wi-Fi is paused and now let's see if it works. One sec let me remove that I found that it's not that accurate in the offline mode but let's try it. I'm busy I'll call you later uh it does type it but again uh I found it to be a what do you say, hit or a Miss. Let us continue.

We are testing the Google Nexus phone so as you can see it does make a little more mistakes in the offline mode but I feel it's a really good addition to have this uh what do you say uh voice recognition typing in the offline mode. So that's one major Improvement, uh also one more thing that has been really improved is widgets resizing for example this is a clock widget and if I just move it around as you can see the icons move around to accommodate the same so that's really nice.

I would say, and one more thing is that let me add one more widget and we can resize the widgets. Let us take a big one uh let's uh put this bookmark widget hold it and I'm just going to put it over here and actually we can resize this widget and as you can see I can resize it and now let's say uh I need to move this widget over here so what I do is I just hold this widget and I just hold this widget and I just move it over this side and even though if it's really big, I just leave it and it auto resizes. So I feel this Auto resizing of vets is also really cool, if you have a lot of vets.

**The Jelly Bean Update: A Major Improvement**

Overall, uh it makes the phone a little bit more snappier to use and I really uh like this uh Google Now feature and the voice uh commands that we can do. Hope you found this video helpful that's it for now, this is ranit from tech.com and I hope to see you in my next video.
