Xperia Z3, Galaxy Note 4 Leaks, & Moto 360 Revealed - Android Weekly

The Anatomy of Phones: Unpacking the Xperia Z3 and Moto 360

When it comes to the design of phones, bezels are a popular feature, but what about chins? Let's take a closer look at the Xperia Z3, a phone that has been leaked multiple times in recent weeks. The most credible leak so far is from Tenna, a China-based equivalent of the American FCC, which has provided us with both images and hardware specifications. According to these specs, there are two versions of the phone: the L55T and the L55U.

The main difference between the two models is that the L55T is designed exclusively for use in China, while the L55U is compatible with international carriers. The specs for both phones are fairly similar, with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera. While the CPU and GPU have been slightly upgraded, it seems that not much has changed since the Xperia Z2.

Now, let's move on to some other news in the world of smartphones. A recent leak from Sam Mobile has revealed some software evidence regarding the camera features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It appears that the phone may feature a side touch sensor, similar to those found on the Galaxy S5 and other devices. This sensor would allow users to take photos with more stability and ease, by emulating a camera shutter button instead of tapping the screen.

The leak also suggests that the Galaxy Note 4 will have new camera modes, including three selfie modes: wide selfie mode, which takes advantage of the phone's wide-angle lens; a selfie mode that allows users to take a shot with a smile or a wink; and an automatic focus feature that adjusts the camera to your face when taking a self-portrait. Additionally, there will be a GIF-making mode that converts photos taken in burst mode into animated GIFs.

Moving on from Samsung, let's talk about the Moto 360 smartwatch. Best Buy recently mistakenly listed the device on their website, revealing its specs and price tag. The watch features a 1.5-inch 320x290 resolution display, heart rate monitoring, waterproofing up to 50 meters, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also comes with a stainless steel case and leather band, all powered by a Texas Instruments processor.

The Moto 360's price tag is $250, which seems reasonable considering the features and design of the watch. The device appears to be premium, with a rounded watch face and a focus on style. With its sleek design and feature-packed specs, it's no wonder that Best Buy quickly took down the listing after just a few hours.

Last but not least, let's talk about Sprint's new smartphone release, the Sharp Aqua Crystal. This phone is pushing the boundaries of smartphone design with an almost all-screen design, featuring incredibly thin bezels on three sides. While there's still a large chin at the bottom for cameras and microphones, future component miniaturization will likely result in this feature being phased out.

The Sharp Aqua Crystal is part of Sprint's efforts to create a new line of smartphones that are sleek and innovative. With its design focused on minimizing bezels, this phone is sure to turn heads. As with any new release, we can expect to see more information about the phone as it becomes available.

In other news, Android Authority has two clues for a $50 Google Play gift card contest. These clues have been circulating among fans of the site, but so far, no one has correctly solved them. The winners will receive the gift card, which is a great incentive to keep trying. In fact, in our next Android Q&A session, I'll be giving away another clue that's sure to be much easier than the previous ones.

That's all for now. Thanks for watching, and don't forget to follow us on social media to stay up-to-date on the latest news and developments in the world of smartphones and Android.
