The Dark Taste of Rivalry by Ala Goodman
This book has been on my mind and in my rotation for what feels like an eternity, but I've yet to pick it up. I know, I know, it's probably getting old hearing me mention it so many times on this channel, but I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet. The truth is, I'm embarrassed that I haven't read it. I feel like I get a lot of flak for not having read it, and I don't want to be that person who's always talking about books they haven't actually read.
On the other hand, there is one book that I've been meaning to read for ages - The Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. This series was a huge part of my middle school and middle grade reading experience, and yet, I still haven't read all of them. I feel like my time has come and gone for re-reading these books, but at the same time, I'm embarrassed that I haven't already read them. Everyone loves Percy Jackson, and I've heard so many good things about this series that it's hard to understand why I haven't picked it up yet.
Another book that comes to mind is Love That Wit by Emily Henry. I've talked about this book several times on my channel because I was really looking forward to reading it. However, when I finally sat down with it, I felt completely underwhelmed. The story just didn't resonate with me, and I couldn't help but wonder why I had even bothered picking it up in the first place.
Book that I picked up, had to put down... Well, there's only one book that comes to mind here - NGA by John Corey Whitney. This was a recent release that I was waiting for, so I just read it while I waited for another book to come out. However, as soon as I started reading it, I knew I wasn't going to be able to finish it. It just didn't hold my attention, and I ended up putting it down after only a few pages.
But here's the thing - I do plan on finishing NGA eventually. Despite not enjoying it initially, I did like it enough that I want to see it through to the end. The other book that comes to mind is Sadly To Say by Wendy Wax. This was another one that I picked up and just couldn't finish. It didn't hold my attention at all, and I ended up putting it down after only a few pages.
Drawing to certain types of stories... When it comes to what kind of books I'm drawn to, fantasy is definitely the way to go. I've gotten really into epic fantasy lately, with its kingdoms and quests and epic battles. There's just something about that type of story that really speaks to me. On the other hand, I'm not a huge fan of dystopian fiction anymore. It was super popular back in the day, but it just doesn't hold my attention like it used to.
I also tend to stay clear of love triangles. I know some people can't get enough of them, but they're just not my thing. There's something about having to choose between two characters that always feels so forced to me. And finally, there's one type of story that I really don't enjoy reading - straight up horror fiction. I've gotten better at tolerating thrillers over the years, but horror just isn't for me.
If you could require the President to read only one book... While it's hard to narrow it down to just one, if I had to choose a book that everyone should read, it would be Harry Potter. This series has been a huge part of many people's reading experiences, and it's just so beloved for a reason.
Planning what to read next... The first thing on my TBR list right now is The Savage Song by Victoria Schwab. I've heard great things about this book, and I'm excited to dive into its dark and gritty world. It's definitely going to be a departure from the usual fantasy stories that I enjoy reading, but I'm always up for a good challenge.

light-hearted because of the topics in it but used to say still got to read it and I want to read it the next question is what is the last truly great book you've read read a lot of really good books this year despite looking at a good reader like like I've only had six five star reviews I'm very like strict on that for some reason I don't know last truly great book I read was actually a couple weeks ago and that is vicious by V Schwab I am obsessed with this book I just loved it so so very much I just can't get in of it this is an adult book all about villains and the notion of Heroes versus Villains right versus wrong all that stuff please pick it up because it's going to rock your world question number three is if you can be any writer Dead or Alive who would it be and what would you want to know when I thought about this I was like I don't know what writer like I'm really itching to me but the answer comes so easily to me but it's like the most cliche answer and that's JK Roland because she pretty much shaped my childhood and like my adulthood and my young adulthood all that stuff combined she really shaped it so I would love to meet her what I would ask is I don't know just a myriad questions like I would ask her so many things about Harry Potter so many things I would just want to meet her probably question number four is what books might we be surprised to find on your shelves and I don't know I don't really have any on here that I'm just like oh crap do not look on my shelves because you're going to be surprised there's not any I don't think like contempories over here just a few and then I like to have Decor in my background not all books but that's just how is and I have this is like one of my favorite shelf I have two I have lots of favorite shelves so this is one this is like my tall favorite shelves I would say I organize most by genre and tallness tallness is a very important thing with me here I keep all of my adult books up there I keep all my adult books over there keep all my contemporary keep all of like my finished Trilogy so I'm very I like to organize it a lot and up here up here I keep like my TV like my books I haven't read yet I'm I don't know I'm a little bit of organization freak that is an understatement but mostly by genre and tallness that's a that's the tallness thing is one of my pet peev I like to really keep them like height wise like height-wise is my thing tallness not tallness height-wise what am I saying question is what book have you always meant to read and haven't gotten around to yet question to go with it is anything you feel embarrassed to never have read I'm usually pretty good if I have kept a book for like over two years on my TB red shelf I just have to get rid of it because if I've kept it on there for that long there's no way I'm going to freaking read it I'm just going to be r but the one book I've talked about time and time again on this channel I've been meaning to
