A Review of Book Riot's Quarterly Box: A Mixed Bag with Some Surprises

As I opened my latest package from Book Riot's quarterly box, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and disappointment. The box contained several items that I was eager to try out, but unfortunately, one of the most promising items, a mug featuring Band Books, arrived in a broken state.

I have been a fan of Book Riot's quarterly boxes for some time now, and I was thrilled when I saw the mug on the list. Not only is it a beautiful piece of art, but it also features my favorite book club on it. However, as soon as I opened the box, I realized that something was off. The mug was broken, with one of its sides completely shattered. I was shocked and disappointed by this turn of events. How could a company like Book Riot, which prides itself on quality and attention to detail, allow such a thing to happen? I was relieved when I discovered that the mug was actually sent to me in a broken state, rather than being deliberately damaged.

On the bright side, one of the items that did arrive intact was the reading dart. This small device is designed to allow readers to mark pages in their books without damaging the pages themselves. say sorry if I got sorry if I go out of focus or that now I will say um last box I liked it I didn't love it but I have heard immensely good things about this box it does feel a bit lighter so let's open it up and see what's in it I have this this is a box cutter I will be safe with it I'm guessing H I opened the box up wrong last time so who knows got it so I'm going to put this away so Safety First kids anyway let's open it this is what it looks like on the inside and it was packaged it's packaged with redness in La I'm not going to look at this is the thing that tells you exactly what's in it so I'm just going to kind of Freewheel it so let's just see the first thing I see is a photo oh my gosh I'm instantly in love with this this says read everywhere and it's by Melville house I believe it's a really old old vintage kind of photograph looks like we maybe taking like I don't know know but I will say I definitely am going to frame this and probably put it over there in my book Nook because I planed them in my office down here so I am super excited about this like how cool does that look you guys all want to hang this in your room right automatically I'm already loving this box for this reason I will say the only thing I don't like about it is the way they folded it cuz it's got all this um damage to it I guess or like perforated where they folded it at but I'm luckily I'm not insanely picky so I'm okay with it I just love this next thing I see is this what are you I think you're a magnet and it says yay books who's ready to put this on their fridge yep it's a magnet it's just like that yay books super super cute I love it I'm going to put it on my fridge immediately a book and this is a this is called judging a book by its Lover by Lauren letto a field guide to all the hearts and minds of readers everywhere so that's what it looks like redo the back of it super quickly I apologize cuz I do talk fast and I also read fast out loud want to impress a hot stranger at the bar who asked for your take on infinite Gest I never heard of that dying to dying to shut up the blow heart in front of you who's p pontificating on Cor McCarthy's reoccurring reoccurring Road narratives having difficulty keeping Francis Pro or Annie PRX guess what I probably said both of those was wrong and I apologize to all you Grammar Nazis out there for all those overwhelmed readers who need a firm grip on the Relentless Onslaught onslaught of must read books to say on top of the in inevitable conversations that swirl around them Lauren letto judging a book by its lover is man up from literacy Heaven a hilarious send up of inspired homage to the passionate and peculiar world of book culture this guy is this guy to literally debate leaves no reader or author unscathed at once adoring scaring everyone from Jonathan franzine to an Ryan and Jo joaki and the people who read them so this book kind of seems like you want to impress somebody so it's like how to fake like you've read a book which I mean I think it's pretty cool honestly because I am not like a most of you guys know I read ya and I wouldn't what you say a like you know trained reader I guess or I don't know how say it like I can't recite you know all the classics I can't can't recite Ray Bradberry or you know like corn McCarthy or you know Warren peas and stuff like that but maybe this book will help me let's let's see some a lot of these authors I don't recognize hence why I'm not like I haven't read oh there's how to fake it like you've read George Orwell I have read George Orwell though so that's cool that at least have one author in here that I read so it's just it's stuff like it's just like a little list of what you would say so I I really like it I do love the cover of it gosh it looks so vintage and cool like you could just put it like right there and that would look so cool the next thing I see is another book and this is oh my gosh parasuis on Wheels by Christopher Morley the art of the Nolla this is I don't know what this is is this a Nolla maybe I'm not too quite sure about it yeah it's a meville house Classics now Melville house was the one that made this Photograph so um yeah I don't know what exactly this one is I will leave the Goodreads to Links of these below but I do love the cover of it and I think it's really cool and I will say this book this box is already better because it's already two books last box we only got one book the next thing is this thing that says read harder and this is book darts which is a safe tool for easy targeted rereading and exact line marker for any worth finding that's are you by tape of course you're ow man don't you hate it when tape gets under your nail and it hurts really bad wow these are really nice nice so these are exactly what they say they are they are literally like little book darts and you're going to put them like exactly where you want them in your book like say a line or something you use as a book marker you can use this at if you want to find a particular line so and it's totally safe cuz it looks like it won't like crimp your pages at all so I really love that and this like even just this um tin is really cool to display too all about displaying things here yay the next thing I see is probably the one I'm most excited about if I'm going to be honest it is a mug and it is the band books mug I hope it's not broken it sounds like it could be broken it broke I'm not kidding to you broke how did this happen this yeah well it was it was a mug once upon a time but now this is what it looks like I don't know if I have to contact them via this because this is this is really bad it's oh I'm really upset by this I'm going to be completely honest with you man this suck this is the coolest thing and of course the thing that's broken in my box so let's let's put it together and see what it would have been there's another piece missing I don't know where whatever so this is what it looks like it has all the band books on it so you got Animal Farm Naked Lunch Li rub um how and other poems Tropic of Cancer it's beautiful I actually have this on my Amazon Wish List no lie I've had it on there forever and hopefully hopefully um book Riot or quarterly will be kind enough to send me another one because it's broken and it came like that you guys saw that so I didn't break it it literally came like that and trust me I did not all I did was take the package from inside to outside that's all I did so sadness enses very sad thing I see is a jump drive which I'm not too quite sure of so I'm going have to refer to the um little guide thing this is a short story Thursday's digital dispatch and um okay this is you plug this this USB drive into your um computer and you're going to watch a short video where with by Jake who with a help from his cat tells the story of how um SS begin short story Thursday begin and reads to you a little and shares why he picked the stories that are also included at separate files read them now or download them and read them later if you like what you see go sign up for St how bad is it I want to say STD it's not good SST and discover or ReDiscover the magic of the short story so that's pretty cool and plus I love that it's so customized and it's a we can never have enough USB dries let's be real about that okay so that was book Riot's second um quarterly box now I will say I definitely like this one a lot better than the first one because the first one came with a book and like maybe three other items but this one I'm getting 1 2 3 4 5 six seven things and these are literally all things I would use last one I was kind of hesitant with pencils cuz I don't really write with pencils anymore but I will hang the picture up I will definitely be participating in this I will definitely use these reading darts I will definitely put this magnet up and I will definitely be checking out these two books now and I would use the mug if it wasn't broken now I will say do I think this is worth $50 this box yes because these two books this one's $15 I'm sure this one's $1 as well so that's 30 bucks this stuff I'm sure is like probably like $5 to $10 this is probably like $3 um picture maybe 5 to 10 and Bam books I know this this thing has got to be at least $10 so I do think it is worth the $50 um so I would definitely recommend signing up with book Riot quarterly for this I definitely love um this box more so yeah I'm excited and hopefully I get a new M cuz I really want to use that because I have a fash
