The Unboxing Time Machine - NES 1985

What's Up Guys: Lew Here Back with Another Video

Lew is here back with another video, and this is the third installment in his amazing and cool virtual reality unboxing videos. In this video, Lew takes his viewers on a trip down memory lane as he unboxes some of the most important gadgets in general and in his personal life. Today's topic is the original Nintendo Entertainment System, also known as the NES.

The NES was an absolute game-changer, bringing a controller into people's living rooms and completely changing the way people perceived gaming. Lew explains that this console was the first one he had, and it might be the first one that his viewers had as well. The NES brought local gaming and multiplayer to the forefront, with two controllers inside the box designed for players to enjoy together.

Lew takes a closer look at the back of the box, showing his family in a nostalgic scene from his childhood. This scene represents the promise of the NES, which was not just about the console itself but also about the hours that people would spend playing together as a family. Lew's brother is even visible in this image, and it's clear that Lew has fond memories of opening up his NES on Christmas morning.

Now, let's take a closer look at what made up the possibly most important game console of all time – the NES itself. Lew starts by examining the console on the left side of the box, marveling at its pristine condition. Inside, he finds two controllers, a game called Jack, and a Zapper light gun. Lew brings up the game "Super Mario Bros." and "Duck Hunt," which were both released in 1985, the same year Lew was born.

Lew also mentions that the NES did not debut in North America until later, but it was first released in Japan in 1985. This is an interesting point because it brings Lew to the Zapper light gun, a peripheral that he's excited to show his viewers. The original NES controllers were actually gray, but they had to be modified for the American audience, resulting in the iconic orange color we see today.

Lew decides to pull the trigger on the Zapper, demonstrating its incredible accuracy and experience. He then brings up one of the controllers, explaining that it was a precursor to all the advancements that would come later in the world of gaming controllers and consoles. The controller's design allowed players to lean back and enjoy rapid-fire action, setting a new standard for gaming.

The main attraction of this unboxing experience is, of course, the NES itself. Lew marvels at its beauty, two-tone gray color, and the AV inputs and output on the back. He also highlights the protective door that shields the cartridge from dust. The buttons on the controller are perhaps the most nostalgic component of this entire experience for Lew.

When Lew hits the power button on the console, he is transported back to 1985, and he invites his viewers to join him on this journey through time. As he powers up the NES, Lew feels like it's Christmas all over again – a feeling that he hopes his viewers will also experience as they continue watching this series.

Lew encourages his viewers to leave comments below if there are any retro gadgets or consoles they'd like to see featured in future videos. He wraps up the video by thanking his audience and wishing them well, before saying goodbye with a smile.
