The Dangers of Snapchat: A Cautionary Tale

Hey guys, everything Apple Pro here and today I'm going to be posting a video telling you guys not to use Snapchat okay, I'm just kidding uh but really I just wanted to let you guys know how easy it is to save pictures on Snapchat and just basically give you an idea that this several million dollar application is actually really unsafe. If you guys ever send you know naked pictures around on the web they will end up somewhere where you don't want them to because of how easy it is to save Snapchat pictures without the other person knowing.

There's actually an exploit on the Snapchat application itself without a jailbreak and then there's a jailbreak application that will actually allow you to save them incredibly easy. So I'm just going to go ahead and show you guys how to do that all right. So here we have two innocent Snapchat applications and if we go ahead and open them up I can go ahead and take a picture of myself send it to my jailbroken iPhone.

First of all, I'm going to show you the application it's called Phantom p h n t o m and it's available for free in the Cydia App Store. Inside you can basically set the timer to any seconds that you want and you see when you open up a picture you hold it you now have a button right here that you can just save it straight away to your camera roll and it's as easy as that. Now, the thing about this tweak is and the exploit that I'm going about to show you as well is that the other person will not know that you took the screenshot cuz you know usually when you do take a screenshot it says right there that they did take a screenshot.

This is my jailbroken iPhone it does have Cydia now. This one is not jailbroken so I'm going to go ahead and show you the exploit it's really simple. So I'm going to go ahead head and send a picture from this iPhone and yeah, you guys can Snapchat me if you really want to phone Rebel there you go. So in here, this is a non-jailbroken iPhone so when you hold it and you take the screenshot you'll just let go and double tap to get the multitasking icon you wait a few seconds until it's over and then you go back and on other iPhone it does not say that a screenshot was taken.
