Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - SPOILER FREE Rapid Review
Launched: A New Series on Rapid Reviews
Hey everyone, it's Hay and today I'm going to be launching a new series on my channel called rapid reviews. So, I'm going to be doing spoiler-free reviews in under 5 minutes. To start it all off, I'm going to be reviewing Throne of Glass by Sarah J Moss.
Throne of Glass is the first book in a relatively new fantasy series and it's going to be five or six books, believe me. The second one is Crown of Midnight, Midnight, and the third one is AA Fire which just came out recently, sorry about that. Then there's also the prequel, Assassin's Blade, which are all bound together.
The book follows the story of a female assassin named Selena Sthan and she lives in this very fantastical world but there is no more magic in this world because the King has eliminated all magic. This King rules very tyrannically but he could also offer her her Freedom so Selena has the opportunity to compete in this competition against 23 other assassins and robbers and she could be become the king's Champion which would earn her her Freedom after 4 years of service to the king.
So, there are new challenges added to the competition when her competitors mysteriously start just dying off and it becomes very obvious that whatever is killing them is not human. And then, she has the duty to figure out what it is so then she can survive long enough to win this competition and therefore win her Freedom.
Talking About Characters
Along the way, Selena meets the Crown Prince who is he's this really sarcastic snarky snobby guy but he's got banter between him and Selena that are just is just so funny. Um, on that note, Selena is just such a lovable character she's just such a badass. She doesn't let anyone tell her what to do she knows how to make her way in the world and she doesn't need anyone guiding her or anything.
And you just cannot help but love her because she's got this SASS and she always has like a witty remark on the tip of her tongue and it's just is just awesome. And then, there is also the captain of the Guard who is named K and he is just he's got this really hard on the outside, hard and like unapproachable but you can tell that he just is such a nice guy on the inside.
And he just has this loving side to him and it's just great. And then there is also the princess Nemia who she befriends in the castle so she's a princess from one of the nearby um kingdoms and she is just really hard to like because she seems very unapproachable and I think she kind of is and that kind of goes with the territory of being a princess, I guess.

you can tell that he just is such a nice guy on the inside and he just has this loving side to him and it's just great and then there is also the princess nemia who she befriends in the castle so she's a princess from one of the nearby um kingdoms and she is just really I had a kind of hard time liking her she's very um she seems very unapproachable and I think she like really is and that kind of goes with the territory of being a princess I guess but eh I didn't like her that much so I just found her kind of hard to like cuz she wasn't really relatable or anything and I didn't feel like she was like anyone I knew which is kind of what I look for in characters so I don't know I don't know if that makes sense so overall the story in this book is amazing it took me a little bit to read but that's because I was just so absorbed in the world that I just didn't want it to end something about Sarah J Moss's writing is just incredible she really just she has all these sto story lines and they just intertwine and it seems very complicated but it's really not it's very easy to understand and you just have so many things going on there is always something and it's just great and even just the little things like um conversations between the characters was so well written and was just very intriguing and fun so overall I thought this was an awesome fun story I gave it five out of five stars I know there's a lot of hype surrounding this series but I would recommend just kind of going past the hype and just reading it for yourself and figuring out if it's for you because it might not be for you but if it is your thing then I think you will really love it so overall yes I would recommend this to you guys and yeah I hope you guys enjoyed this review and I'll see you guys
