A World First: Introducing the Universal 10-in-One Super Dock

Miles here with Nine to Five Mac and today we're going to be checking out the world's first universal 10-in-one super dock, which is going to increase the functionality of this MacBook Air by 10 fold. Firstly, let's take a look at the design itself for a 10-in-one dock. This was surprisingly thin and light, so instead of buying an adapter that's too inconvenient with you to take out to work or around the house, you'd have no problem slipping this into a bag or even your laptop's carrying case. And a nice little touch that I can appreciate is the magnetic connector for the two USB-C inputs on the end just to make sure that they're always together. It's the little things like that to appreciate with adapters.

This is the world's first universal 10-in-one super dock, so when taking a look at the IO here you can tell that for a lot of people this should be a one-stop shop as far as a USB-C adapter. Firstly, you can see here that we've got two HDMI ports both of which support up to 4K displays at 60Hz, which is definitely a great addition for power users out there. It's also cool to note that this is the first USB-C only dock that can support dual displays across all operating systems including Mac OS, Windows, and Chrome OS.

When taking a look at the rest of the IO we've got a Gigabit Ethernet port, which should be nice if perhaps you're in an area with a weak signal or you just need the fastest speeds. You can get this is going to be very handy for that. On the right side of the super dock we've got a USB-C port with power pass-through up to 100 watts so this is going to be the port you use to plug up your power adapter to keep the laptop charged up, and since this has power support up to 100 watts you can use this with something like a 16-inch MacBook Pro which is nice to see.

On the other side of the super dock we've got another USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, followed by two USB-A 3.0 ports next to that we've got a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack with microphone support and two SD card slots, a micro and full-size slot so all in all this selection of IO is definitely going to get the job done for the majority of people especially in such a portable package.
