The Love of Reading: A Journey Through Life's Experiences
For many people, reading is an integral part of their daily lives, and for this individual, it has been since they were young. Their father and grandmother being avid readers played a significant role in fostering their love for books. As they reflect on how they got into reading, they recall that it was always a part of their life. "I honestly think I've been into reading ever since I was young," they say.
One of the earliest memories of this individual's reading journey is with their father and grandmother. Their parents' love for reading created a strong foundation for this hobby. The family's shared interest in books created a bond that has endured throughout the years. As they grew older, their reading habits evolved, and they started to explore different genres. "I really started avidly reading when I was 14," they reveal. "I read like The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot and The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares." These books not only sparked a passion for reading but also led them to discover the young adult (YA) genre.
The YA genre became their go-to choice, and it was during this phase that they encountered authors like Stephenie Meyer. "I think after Twilight I really fell into the YA genre honestly," they say. Their reading taste has matured over time, but they still enjoy reading within the YA genre. However, it's clear that they no longer read books like The Princess Diaries, which might seem too childish to them now.
As their love for reading grew, so did their enthusiasm for connecting with fellow book lovers. Their enthusiasm for books led them to explore new authors and genres. However, this individual has a confession to make: they often sneak peeks at the back pages of books to gauge the ending. "I'm not going to front with you guys I do this quite often," they admit. They acknowledge that authors might be aware of this practice, as many people share similar tendencies. Despite knowing this, they simply can't resist checking the back cover for a hint about the book's conclusion.
The experience of reading has become an integral part of their life, and they appreciate the ability to connect with others who share their passion. As they reflect on how often they buy books, it's clear that their enthusiasm is unwavering. They purchase multiple books per month, often finding great deals on Amazon. In contrast, visiting physical bookstores like Barnes & Noble can be pricey for them.
Their experience with the Book Community has been overwhelmingly positive, as they found a supportive environment to discuss books and share thoughts. The community aspect of their love for reading has allowed them to form meaningful connections with fellow readers. This individual acknowledges that not everyone may understand or relate to their enthusiasm for reading, but they're content with being part of an online community where like-minded individuals come together to celebrate literature.
