Rosewill RX-358 U3C External Hard Drive Enclosure - Unboxing & Installation

The Unboxing and Overview of the Rosewell RX 358 u3c External Hard Drive Enclosure

As I opened up the box, I found a user's manual, got the hardware, and then the drive enclosure itself. The enclosure is individually wrapped with the back plate, along with some mounting screws to mount your 3.5-inch drive. There's also a wall adapter that provides AC power to both the enclosure and your hard drive. It's worth noting that this enclosure is USB 3.0 and E-IDE compatible.

Taking a closer look at the front of the enclosure reveals that it is made of black aluminum, with the Rosewell logo prominently displayed. The enclosure also has a mesh grill above the 80 mm fan, which is set to intake mode, pulling in cool air from the outside and directing it over your hard drive. On the sides, we have ABS plastic construction, while on the opposite end, there are ports and switches. Right there, you'll find a 12-volt DC power port, a USB 3.0 port, and a switch to turn your enclosure on or off.

The enclosure also has a fan switch for on or off, as well as an E-IDE port. If you take a look at this side of the enclosure, you can see the inside of the enclosure by removing the back plate. The back plate is made of black aluminum and provides additional airflow for your hard drive through another mesh grill. You can also see the circuit board and SATA connection used to mount your 3.5-inch drive.

To set up this enclosure, all you need to do is remove the back plate, slide your 3.5-inch drive directly under the Serial ATA dock, and then proceed to sliding off the side panels of your enclosure. This will reveal the mounting points for your hard drive. Take those mounting screws, bolt them down, make sure that your hard drive is secure, and then slide the side panels back on and secure them with the included screws.

Once you've mounted the back plate to the enclosure using the remaining screws, you'll be ready to go. The enclosure is currently connected to my computer via USB 3.0, and I have a 2 TB Cat 5 hard drive installed. It seems to be working just fine, with the 80 mm fan barely audible. One notable feature of this enclosure is that it has two blue LED indicator lights.

That's all for this video. The Rosewell RX 358 u3c external hard drive enclosure has been a pleasure to review, and I hope you've found this unboxing and overview informative. Thank you all for watching, and I'll see you guys next time.
