Welcome to Fashion Indie Week: A Revolutionary Take on Fashion in New York City
We're here on top of the Brooklyn Bridge, in the heart of New York City, to kick off fashion indie week with a runway show that will take your breath away. I'm Daniel Saint, founder of fashion.com, and we're excited to bring you this unique experience. As part of our mission to showcase the best of Brooklyn's fashion scene, we've brought together some of the most talented designers from around the city to showcase their collections.
Brooklyn Fashion Indie Week: A Fresh Perspective on Fashion
Fashion indie week is a celebration of all things independent and fresh in the fashion world. Unlike traditional New York Fashion Week, which tends to be more structured and commercial, fashion indie week is all about pushing boundaries and trying new things. We want to create an experience that's exciting, energetic, and inclusive – everyone should enjoy fashion, after all! By doing shows at nightclubs and bringing in thousands of people, we're creating a truly immersive experience that's unlike anything else out there.
The History of Fashion.com
I started fashion.com about four years ago, initially just doing shows for young designers. But over time, the website has grown to become one of the most popular destinations for fashion enthusiasts, with 500,000 people reading it every month. The website is fashion indie.com, and I'm proud to say that it's become a go-to resource for anyone looking to stay on top of the latest trends and styles.
Brooklyn Royalty: A Distinctly Brooklyn Line
My name is Bob Bland, and I'm the designer behind Brooklyn royalty – a line that's distinctly Brooklyn-based. We use hand-printed graphics, timeless designs, and bring pride to Brooklynites everywhere. Every season is different, with edgy, rock-inspired styles that are always fun and creative. And because we're completely independent of trends, our clothes are always unique and one-of-a-kind.
Alysa from Tiny Pants: Music-Inspired Fashion
I'm Alysa from tiny pants, and I'm excited to share my music-inspired fashion line with you. As a music-based brand, every collection is born out of inspiration and trend-combination – we want to tell a story through our clothes! Our spring 09 line is a testament to this philosophy, featuring a diffusion line that's all about noise meets viva the future.
The Power of Fashion Indie Week
But fashion indie week isn't just about showcasing great designers – it's also about building a community. By supporting local talent and providing a platform for them to shine, we're helping to create a more vibrant and exciting fashion scene in Brooklyn. And that's exactly what fashion is all about: creativity, self-expression, and pushing boundaries.
Rachel Antop: A New Line and a New Chapter
Hi, I'm Rachel from Rachel antop – this is my first line by myself after years of working with my partner on Muka Kini. We had to split up, but that led me to start my own line, and I couldn't be more excited! My designs are all about costumes – I believe that every job should have a fun costume, and you don't have to be a tap dancer to wear one! The pieces are one-of-a-kind, made with vintage fabrics that are truly unique.
