**Modifying the Car to Fit the Engine**
One of the first things that needs to be modified on the car to fit the engine is fitting the power steering. The power string will be on the other side, so it's necessary to relocate this line. The line usually runs in a certain way, and to achieve this, we need to loosen the fitting, move it up, and then bend it back carefully to avoid kinking the line.
Another modification needed is for the fuel line. It needs to be routed inside the frame rail so that it clears the headers, adapter, and other components. This means running the fuel line in a way that avoids these parts, resulting in an easier installation process.
**Modifying the Chassis**
From there, we have to modify the chassis to accommodate the engine's requirements. The next step is to cut slits in the chassis rails and then hammer them down before grinding off the excess metal. This process keeps the structure of the chassis intact while allowing for the necessary modifications. There's also a hump on one side that needs to be modified, but this is still being confirmed.
**AC Installation Confirmation**
If the car is going to have an air conditioning system, we need to confirm that it can be installed. If so, the necessary modifications will be made before cutting into the chassis. This ensures that the installation process goes smoothly and efficiently.
**Clips for Easy Line Routing**
To make the line routing process easier, I've placed clips around the chassis to hold the lines in place. This provides leverage and prevents the line from being bent in an incorrect direction, making it easier to route.
**New Wheels for the Car**
I recently acquired a new set of wheels for the car, specifically designed to accommodate the larger tires that will be used with the new engine. The original wheels were 8 inches, but I wanted to upgrade to bigger tires for better traction. However, finding suitable wheels proved challenging due to the unique wheel setup of this car.
I eventually found a company called ESR that offers a re-drilling service, which allowed me to get these wheels in 5x110 with the correct offset. The new wheels are designed to match the upgraded engine's requirements and will provide better traction and performance.
**The Wheels**
The new wheels are a three-piece forged wheel with an impressive design. ESR is known for their expertise in re-drilling wheels, and I'm excited to see how well they've done on this set. The company has transitioned from making original wheels to producing three-piece forged wheels and monoblock designs.
**Choosing the Right Wheels**
I chose these wheels because of their unique design and the fact that they come with a re-drilled option. This ensured that I could get the correct size and offset for my car, even though it was difficult to find suitable wheels. The 275-sized tires will provide enough traction for the new engine and give me the confidence to drive the car safely.
**Titanium Lug Nuts**
To complete the upgrade, I also acquired a set of titanium lug nuts from ESR. These are designed specifically for re-drilled wheels like mine and offer a durable, corrosion-resistant option. The machining marks on these lug nuts are quite impressive, showcasing the attention to detail at ESR.
**The Car's New Look**
Now that the wheels have been installed, I'm excited to see how they look on the car. The new set of wheels has already changed the appearance of the vehicle, making it stand out from its original 8-inch wheel setup. With these upgraded wheels and the dual tip exhaust system, my mom will be able to appreciate the changes made to her car.
**The Upcoming Daily Series**
This series will follow my journey as I modify the car to fit the new engine. Each day, we'll reveal a new part of the process, from installing the engine to adding final touches to the exterior design. If you have any ideas or suggestions for future modifications, be sure to comment below and share them with us.
**The Big Reveal**
Each day in this series will culminate in a big reveal – the moment when we show my mom her upgraded car. We'll be surprising her with not only new wheels but also an entirely new engine that has been specially modified for her vehicle. The suspense is building, and I'm excited to share it all with you, our readers.
