and some cool bits to finish it off and we've always liked the i30n because it's quite a cool and serious hardware hot hatch it's the first full n by hyundai n is like m for bmw but n for hyunai but you guys already know that like this toe strap with an n on it it looks kinda cool actually really like that little detail go follow the owner by the way on instagram i30nbe we've also got this flow design front splitter gives it a much more aggressive look we've also got a side skirt right here that's also from flow design with a little winglet right there wheels are still stock and i don't see any reason to change these because they look really really cool i personally love a nice stock wheel and this is a perfect example of that they house this great hyunai and brake system with some really cool brake discs quite large actually so as i said you get some serious hardware on a hyundai i30m they really wanted this car to be like the m car of hot hatches and i think with the hardware they offer they have succeeded now the owner has improved it a bit because it looks even more aggressive he has fitted this rear diffuser gives it a racy look it looks low it looks wide he also has mounted this little spoiler extension and the exhaust has a silencer delete so it sounds a bit more fruity as well so let's have a look at the engine and let's see what they did over there what did i just open don't want this to pop open on the autobahn because we are going to take it to the autobahn even though it's soaking wet today how should i open this there we go wow it's quite heavy actually this is why you get that serious hardware because they saved on a gas spring for the engine cover now we have this insanely big forge intake it doesn't have an intake housing so i wonder if it's not sucking in the hot air of the engine but i guess those guys know what they're doing it also has a blow-off valve for some cool sounds in the front as well and it has a ecu remap now the stock hyundai i30n with the performance pack i don't think there are any without it it has 275 horsepower and near 400 newton meters and this now has 300 horsepower which isn't a lot 25 horsepower from an ecu remap but the torque has increased has increased by 100 newton meters so that's the big news i guess that's a lot so let's see what what that's like to drive bam too slow vanity blades really really cool i really like this color this baby blue the owner has also blacked out these door handles which have the body color as standard and we have these blacked out windows um not the most practical feature because when you're in it's a little dark okay let's take it for a drive now as i said you get some serious hardware with these end cars because you get a limited slip diff a two liter turbo with 275 horsepower as stock and you get great adjustability now this is what the end cars are known for in the set map system right here we have n mode and custom mode now in here i can adjust the engine sync revving the limited slip diff the exhaust another menu the suspension the steering and the esc system now how insane is that i have so much to configure and this is a 2018 model and don't forget that the first bmw m2 didn't even have configurability so that's how serious uni is about making this a serious performance car it's not just a cheeky hot hatch it's they want to be taken seriously with their end label and i think we have to okay let's just go for full ammo and mode keep calling it m maybe that's because the head of m bmw m has been the main engineer the head engineer for this car so again an example of how uni takes this end product very very seriously now as i said we have 500 newton meters of torque instead of 400 now i'm doing 70 let's do 80. normally i have to be able to floor it but that's wheels that's just massive wheel spin uh what happens if we do like a hundred and floor in third yeah now it grips so we don't have grip under 100 kph and that's because of that massive torque so i have driven a few hyundai i30 ants in the past but it's been a while so i was really happy to drive this one you might remember we did the stock one the stock hot hatch the hatchback we did a tuned one from race chip and that ugly fastback and it's great to like drive oh that's a great sound actually it's great to drive these cars like two years apart and see if they're as nice as you remember them so we also didn't do any draggy measurements back then so when i finish this review i'm going to do a draggy measurement on the autobahn because i wanted it to dry out before i did so so um i'm not talking numbers in this review but i will post a 100 to 200 time in the video even though i don't know what it's what it actually is at the moment so like with vm cars we also have all these little figures showing me torque power and turbo boost and giving me diagrams and all kinds of other stuff i just don't need oh lots of wheelspin and a big bang go to close the sunroof it's a bit too loud on the autobahn and start my gopro now because of the torque no sd card okay i have to improvise you can see that right we have shift lights right there telling me when to shift and they work pretty well actually because i can look at the road ahead and it will tell me when to shift not trusting this guy and when you let off the throttle and go back on it again you can feel how much torque this car actually has you go back in speed you go back in rpm but you don't have to like shift down so now i remember how much space i needed with the stock car to reach 250 it was impossible but with the extra 25 horsepower you can do it quite easily as i just showed you 248 and i didn't even have that much space so it's clearly outperforming the stock car which is a good thing when you have a tuned one now about that torque watch this i'm going to put it in fifth do 100 kph and floor it it immediately picks up look at that thing go that's how strong it is that's really impressive guys wow there we go pulling and pulling and doing some more pulling yeah that's that's really impressive quite a hard suspension to go over these bumps but we can configure the m mode so yeah it's a little too stiff right now how does this work again go to end mode custom mode go for suspension and let's put it in normal mode see how it copes it's still quite firm as you can see really like the brake pedal it gives you so much feedback it really has a nice progressive feel to it feels very natural very you can really feed the brake power and you feel the reserve you have of brake power so you can really tell that the end team and uni they are a serious racing team and that's the influence they've had on this i30n absolutely perfect as is the gear shift really really nice it's actually better than the gear shift of an m2 a manual m2 or m3 or m4 they're all the same but this is a really really good shift so to conclude as like a throwback to my previous i30n review of a few years ago i think i appreciate it even more than i did back then because it's just damn good the auto blip you can turn off but i actually quite like it because brake pedals and throttle pedals aren't as near each other as they were in the past so sometimes heel and toe blipping a car can be difficult with a modern car so these auto blip systems i kind of like them the weird thing is that you also have a normal mode a sport mode and an eco mode now i get why there's a normal mode and an eco mode but the sport mode what's that for i mean you have end mode and and and custom mode oh wow now it's getting soft that was the problem i wasn't using end custom mode it's now using the settings i made in the system and the suspension is so soft right now i can go over bumps at any speed at any speed wow that's super impressive the difference is unbelievable oh man i'm liking this car more and more wow what a car what a hardware package these i30ns are it's really really impressive so if you're looking for value for money and you're looking for a hot hatch do check out these i30ns because this package is an incredible deal now i know what the owner has paid for this car with only with only 10 000 kilometers on it it's under 30 000 euros so i think that's an incredible deal i know i'm not going to give you the exact number because that would be a bit
