What an Epic Car Garage! Plus AMG Beast...

**Behind the Wheel of the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG**

There's an HC here and I always thought they look so lovely just down from that SLR and the 12c's on this row of cars that goes on and on and on these are obviously the vehicles you need to navigate this space to get around with a little car and the bike and quad just incredible back outside then to take a look at the DTM so only 100 of them in Coupe 80 Cabret as well but this was basically built to celebrate Mercedes success in the German DTM racing series so it looks a little bit like the race car the super super wide arches just stick out like crazy and it goes north 60 mph in 3.9 seconds top speed is limited to 199 M hour this is a 2005 car cost like I said £180,000 it's about um $230,000 at the time it is a very stripped out hardcore carbon doors solid bucket seats nothing it doesn't need well I say that it's got the uh Mercedes command system but let's just jump in and fire this up briefly

Stepping into this incredible machine reveals its true nature as a track-focused beast. The tiny steering wheel, Alcantara trimmed upholstery, and Sixpoint harness are all hallmarks of a car designed for performance rather than comfort. And indeed, the lack of rear seats is immediately apparent, replaced by a strut brace that runs across the back of the cabin to add additional rigidity to the chassis. The interior is dominated by carbon fiber components, from the dashboard to the doors and even the rear windshield.

**A Raw and Unapologetic Driving Experience**

First Impressions are crucial when it comes to a car like this, and I'm pleased to report that it does not disappoint. The V8 engine roars to life beneath me, its raw power and aggression evident in every gear shift. The automatic gearbox is old school, pre-dating the double-clutch technology that has become ubiquitous in modern cars. This means shifts can be a bit slow, but the noise and sound of the supercharger are more than compensatory.

As I set off on the twisty roads surrounding Elite Garage, I was struck by the car's turn-in and handling. The ratio is tight, making it feel almost point-and-shoot in its response to my inputs. But don't be fooled - this is a Savage Beast, capable of unleashing its full fury when pushed hard. My driving style must remain sensible and careful lest I find myself on the receiving end of an angry rear-end.

**Braking and Suspension**

The brake feel is spot-on, providing a solid and responsive pedal that allows me to take corners with confidence. The suspension is firm but not unyielding, allowing for a smooth ride that belies its track-focused nature. And yet, even on the smoothest of roads, I can still tell how stiff it is - this car is designed to put the driver in close contact with the road.

**Technical Specifications**

Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG (2005)

* Engine: 5.5L V8

* Power: 450 horsepower

* Top Speed: 199 mph (electronically limited)

* Price: £180,000 (~$230,000 at the time of production)

A rare and special car, the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG is a testament to the power and aggression that can be unleashed when performance meets precision engineering. It's a thrill to drive, with its raw power and razor-sharp handling making it an exhilarating experience for even the most seasoned drivers.

**The CLK GTR's Design and Heritage**

Built in limited numbers as a tribute to Mercedes-Benz's success in the German DTM racing series, this car is a true celebration of the brand's motorsport heritage. The super-wide arches, designed to evoke the image of a track car, are unmistakable, while the rear wing serves as a nod to the series' high-performance credentials.

**Riding with the CLK GTR**

My time behind the wheel was brief but memorable - the CLK GTR is one of those cars that gets under your skin from the very first drive. The firm suspension ride may be a bit harsh on some drivers, but for this writer, it's a welcome reminder that sometimes less is more. The car's raw power and aggression are undeniable, making it an absolute blast to drive - especially when faced with twisty roads like those surrounding Elite Garage.

As I left the CLK GTR AMG, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards the team at Elite Garage for giving me the opportunity to experience this incredible car. The hours spent driving and exploring its features will be remembered for a long time, and I have no doubt that I'll be back behind the wheel soon enough.

**The CLK GTR's Final Touches**

One final look around the cabin reveals some of the subtle touches that set this car apart from more mainstream Mercedes-Benz offerings. The ginormous carbon strut brace running across the rear of the cabin is a testament to the car's track-focused design, while the interior trim and upholstery are all carefully selected to create a cohesive and high-performance aesthetic.

As I bid farewell to the CLK GTR AMG, it's clear that this is one car that won't be easily forgotten. Its raw power, razor-sharp handling, and aggressive styling make it an absolute joy to drive - and one that will leave even the most hardened car enthusiasts weak in the knees.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys I'm shme and good morning to you on a lovely day in Switzerland where we're continuing the tour in my Ferrari FF having been at the Geneva motor show for the Elite Garage have about a thousand cars in stock all cars they own some of which for sale but it makes for quite a remarkable collection so we're going to head inside and take a look around because we're going to head inside where most of the sort of special cars are located to have a proper look around and take my word for it this is going to be awesome okay then this is a little bit ridiculous and Benzene Ben's already been having a look around this is unbelievable they have everything it's like Porsche alley I can see there sort of row of Lamborghini doors up Ferrari is just in front of us Ferrari aisle which one would you like some nice things like an original Speedster right there there Quattro right in front of it where does what actually begin here like how do we choose where to take a look um can spot the nose of an SLR next to the McLaren doors Tech art GT Street RS on a GT2 uh let's go to the Lambos why not because the doors are up because Mero Vanquish original well previous not current Vanquish but there's like a lot of stuff that that stands out my voice is going I'm in so much uh surprise that's that's just a 360 yeah move on thinking it's a challenge so we've literally got musago lp640 lp640 musago musago and everything that's tucked in behind as well Advantage Roadster at the end there a bright pink Mercedes yeah everyone needs a bright pink Mercedes SL um 190e that has a ridiculous wing on the back um goodness it's like hey an EB 110 there are not that many of them no that's um yeah that's cool what is this 110 gtss you be 110 SS okay the uh predecessor from Bugatti I guess to the Veyron and then oh there's a huran and look at this Diablo the Diablo has a uh fairly crazy kit on the back this is like this is like kid in a candy shop thing oh there's another DTM and a DTM Cabriolet this is it's like you just walk around there's all the the rolls-royces the Phantom is huge um some Bentley I can see some more Lambo wings that that DBS valante that is nice that is really nice very nice color um keep goinging up I'm being the camera I'm just spinning it around like a crazy fool because it's everywhere I look there's something exciting to kind of point out and show you um is that a super leera super leera without the side stripe on it xj220 they you just walk up the line you're like I didn't see that and and and again an SV I didn't I didn't notice the SV so they only Built 185 SVS there's one of them there's one of them and there's another one of them the other side of the two Aventadors Aventador and an Aventador Roadster and an AMG GT and this is the other end of the Ferrari Line This is a bit unusual this is a 355 I think in theory but it's got a big wing on the back what are we just a 355 with a big wing on the back and some racing harnesses got it right the first um R34 GTR my audience will kill me if I don't show them that in a bit more detail as we go around uh is that the midnight purple pain on this as well so everybody loves those um what else do we have Ruby Stone red red 964 RS that stands out just because of the color can't believe that that was actually the launch color of that car was it which is yeah ridiculous the matching brake power does as well does it oh gosh if you can see that through um like Porsche Wings gt2s turbos all sorts from the different Generations uh another another tech art uh GG Street up there uh Lamborghini asart is it I think the end okay crazy and I've been told to go through the shutter at the back and have a look as well as if this wasn't enough cars we can pull this open and reveal even more to you and we didn't even get to where the SLR is next to the 412 C's down there okay through here we enter a new world with even more cars boom we've got the BMWs this is it just goes on this is ridiculous um that's nice what's that all 323 uh M3 CSL just behind alenas a couple of alpas actually um some Corvettes 06 what what is all of this lots of Mercedes lots and lots um some unusual things coming around H Alphas here Cobra Cobra one of my favorites what else TVR back there is that it's just a sea of unusual cars think of a car that isn't here well of this sort of type no it's hey I can just see the top of a mini I'm going to come around here DeLorean DeLorean redo spiders there we've got this like completely checked out racing Mini Alpine like like loss for words H Golf GTI original of course I keep walking past cars and then realizing I have done and like just I found a Marcos a Marcos just lost yeah yeah okay back out I'm going to I found a Mustang as well you found a Mustang Ben's a Mustang man I am Mustang Ben can't read upside down nobody nobody knows why it's Mustang Ben lovely Ben has a 60s Mustang 67 fast back 67 fast back this is immaculate in here as well you're like rubbing your hands in nice and line I have to say like it pains me to say so but this is very well upca okay okay um let's uh Venture back to the other side of what must be about how many cars do you think there are in here 500 600 700 I don't know it's got to be I mean we've only S65 and another one I H just lost lost for words this is ridiculous I feel like I'm not done there's an HC here and I always thought they look so lovely just down from that SLR and the 12c's on this row of cars that goes on and on and on these are obviously the vehicles you need to navigate this space to get around with a little car and the bike and quad just incredible back outside then to take a look at the DTM so only 100 of them in Coupe 80 Cabret as solid bucket seats nothing it doesn't need well I say that it's got the uh Mercedes command system but let's just jump in and fire this up briefly stepping in this is one of those cars that a lot of Formula 1 drivers owned one because of the reputation it got very quickly there we go the V8 in life CK DTM let's go for a little Drive First Impressions it feels seriously raw you've got this tiny race sort of style steering wheel Alcantara finished of course strapped in with the Sixpoint harness L to the bucket seats everything around me and behind carbon fiber so normally the CLK was OB obviously a four- seater this thing has the back completely removed we've got a straut brace right across behind the seats for additional rigidity but everything everywhere is carbon fiber which obviously 12 years ago or so was a pretty new thing for a road car obviously they only made a very small number of them so it came at a quite a high price tag but I think that's pretty much only ever gone up ever since it's got an old school style automatic gearbox it was pre the days of the double clutch which means shifts are a little bit slow but the noise you get is so raw you have the supercharger wine you have the sounds building up and it's such a kind of intoxicating sound and feel the turn in is really really nice going through corners it's quite a tight sort of ratio so you just sort of point and go but I gather it's a bit of a Savage Beast if you push it as well so I have to be a little bit sensible and careful let's open it up a little bit then very very very raw that is basically the best way to describe this car brake feel is good and solid you feel super involved driving it and that's kind of the point and that's why they ended up in the hands of so many racing drivers concentrating obviously quite a lot on the car given it's pretty special what it's capable of there's a lot of Tor from very low in the Rev range you don't actually need to shift very frequently you can be in a higher gear and just pull way no problem at all it's actually a serious amount of talk a beautiful day an amazing car and some lovely roads what could possibly be better it's pretty smooth here but even still can tell how firm the suspension ride is in the car which is unsurprisingly unsurprising given its positioned obviously for the track you want to get that turn in to get the turn in you got to dial up the stiffness but this thing it just it just feels really good to drive and it goes pretty well and we're back at Elite Garage but that was quite a lot of fun needless to say it's a very rare car very special opportunity to get behind the wheel of it and give it a go I'm just going to come in quickly and show you in the rear that I mentioned because I don't think I showed it much before but you have this ginormous carbon strut um straight across the back which amusingly is exactly the same kind of design and style as in the AMG GTR but everything else back there is just carbon fiber sheets and planks even right up to the rear windshield where you can see that Wing out the back with this sort of well was built as a tribute to DTM and it's been a pretty cool car to drive really like it very very stiff though my uh back is definitely starting to feel sort of harshness I would say of the ride but that's kind of the point to be stiff to get the turn in on track anyway a big thanks to Elite Gage for having me along today to have a look around both inside and then take this out for a drive I hope you enjoyed the video we're going to have plenty more stops on our tour so make sure you're subscribed check it all out and I'll catch up with you again very soon cheershi guys I'm shme and good morning to you on a lovely day in Switzerland
