**The Evolution: A Timeless Muscle Car**
As I step into this beast of a machine, I'm reminded of Danny Carey's focus - it takes a special kind of dedication to get all your limbs working together to shift, steer, clutch, and gas with 966 horsepower at the ready. You'd have to be like Danny Carey to take on something as intense as this.
The Evolution looks like it was plucked from the future, but from the driver's seat, it feels like a blast from the past - like something straight out of Star Wars. Even the door handles are sleek and futuristic, opening like a missile launcher on a fighter jet. And then there's the interior... 100% pure awesomeness.
But what truly sets this car apart is its body. The Speedkore Evolution features a carbon fiber replica of an OEM fender, made with the same materials used in Boeing's 787 Dreamliner - that's big plane tech right there. And it wasn't just any old carbon fiber; they used pre-impregnated carbon, which requires precision and expertise to get just right.
The body was scanned using lasers (yes, actual lasers) to ensure every measurement was perfect. The result is a car that looks like it was born from the pages of a futuristic comic book - and yet, it's rooted in tradition, with headlights that shine bright just like the original Charger.
They thought of everything when crafting this masterpiece: the exhaust tips tucked into the bumper, the bezel designed to be concave... every detail is pure perfection. And the best part? It was built as a proof of concept - Speedkore's plan is to take their expertise and apply it to other cars, like Camaros and Mustangs.
The Evolution might just be the most advanced muscle car ever built - people might question Detroit iron without any metal in sight, but this car shows that technology can be used to preserve what we love from yesterday. And who knows? Maybe one day I'll even build a time machine so I can go back and get me a dinosaur (yelling).

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en(motor screaming)(tires squealing)- Muscle cars of the the '60s and '70swere defined by theirprimitive build quality,barge-like handling, and howling V8s.But what if,you want an old school muscle car, without any of the drawbacksof an old school muscle car?You get this.(music thumping)Today we're going bumper to bumperon the Speedkore Evolution.(upbeat rock music)It might look like a 1970Dodge Charger, but it's not.Not even a little bit.The only thing this car shareswith the original Charger is the looks. It doesn't share any sheet metal. The body is all carbonfiber and it's beautiful. It doesn't even sit on the same pan.Underneath the car, Speedkore designeda custom ladder frame from steel. They used four pieces of 6061 aluminumto build the custom floor pan. They could've used ready made, reproduction sheet metal, but that would've be to easy. The oil and fuel lines are mountedinside of the frame railsbecause the guys at Speedkore are bad ass.Muscle cars of old weregood for straight linesand that was about it.Not so with the Evolution.Up front the suspension geometryis modeled after the C6 Corvette.A car known for its handling.(tires screaming)- Oh.- And in the back, ithas a four link rear end. This is a huge upgradeover the stock leaf springswhich are better suited for trucks, not anything you plan ontaking around the turnies.Penske racing coilovers handlesall the bumps and lumps.Does Penske sound familiar?- Penske- Penske- Penske- Pensky- Team Penske- Oh Yeah. They're only one of the most prolificand dominant racing teams in U.S. history. This is a muscle carwith suspension inspiredby Indy and NASCAR racing. That's American as me.(music thumpingThe Evolution has torsion and sway bars, both in the front and in the back, which drastically reduces body roll.(laughs)When you're going as fastas this thing gets going, you want to slow down.Believe me.That's accomplished with Brembosix piston brakes up frontand four pots in the rear. And just like my EGCivic from high school,it's got drilled and slotted rotors toowhich cuts down rotational mass, increasing acceleration and cooling. The wheels are made by HRE.They're called S101s.Forged wheels like these HREsare much stronger thanyour typical cast wheel. And they're cooler. It's got freaking 345s in the back. That's this wide.Twice of my face. And I got a big face.I can't buy sunglasses online.(screaming)Why would any car need tires, twice as wide as my face. That's because the motor is one of thebuffest horses I have ever come across.Let's go look at it.(Music thumping)Speedkore didn't go forthe typical 426 Hemi,or a typical LS.No.They are company of discerning taste. They chose one of the mostpowerful production engines ever. The Evolution is powered by a Demon.Yes.The same engine from the Hellcat Redeye.Even though this carisn't technically a Dodge,it's still got the soul ofa Dodge tucked inside of it.To get more power, Speedkoremade some big changes. They installed new fuel injectors, engineered a custom intake. They 3D printed this (beep) right here. This is literally what they do at NASA.My friend does it.Hi Chad. And on top of that, they installed a smallerpulley on the superchargerwhich makes it spin faster, pulling in more air boysand producing more boost. And more boost means more power.Lightening.(explosion)This is one of the cleanestengine bays I have ever seen. And I grew up in early tomid 2000s Volkswagen culture.Where shaved bays were all the rage. It's really a sight to behold.Roll that sweet, sweet B-roll.Wow.Is that a wire?Nope.Mmmm.There's a little more ofthat champagne bright work.Speedkore, you outdid yourself.Damn, this car's got its own logo.Speedkore also worked with DiabloSportto tune the Dodge ECU.Which was a very cool ECU out of the box.Literally.(laughs)To see me take it out of the box, check out this episode right here whereI unbox the Demon Crate. Those tweaks result in an astounding966 horsepower at the rear wheels.Which is 128 more than just the plain old, regular old, super, limited editionbut far from production V8 even Demon.(tires screaming)And Speedkore didn't stop there.Speedkore decided toinstall a dry sump system. But there was a problem.Nobody makes a dry sumpsystem for the Demon. So Speedkore built their own.Okay, quick explainer.A dry sump system stores the oil in a tankseparate from the engine, pumping it in an out. This eliminates the need for an oil pan.So, instead of being onthe bottom of the engine, the oil reserve on thiscar lives in the trunkand there's two linesthat go through the frameto keep things clean.Cause being clean isa theme of this build. It's not even a build, it's a car. It's a whole car. They made a car.The engine also sits reallyfar back in the engine bay. It's almost behind the front wheelsand that really helpskeep the car balanced. It's called weight distribution.Google it.You know who buys these superhigh-dollar muscle cars?Rich guys. And what do rich guys love.Being comfortable. So let's go slip intosomething a little bitmore comfortable than this freaking stool.(laughs)(music thumping)This is a really nice place to be.Now the Demon and its Redeye brother, use an eight speed paddle shiftingautomatic transmission. But the Evolution, how they'll do it?Speedkore grabbed thesame Tremec T56 manualfrom the Hellcat and bolted itonto the back of their upgraded engine.(tires screaming)I can't imagine the focusit must take to get all of your limbsto work together to shift, steer, clutch, and gas this thingwith its 966 horsepower. You's have to be like Danny Careyto do something like that.Even though the Evolution lookslike it came from the future,it feels like the pastfrom the driver's seat. It's like Star Wars. It's like this weird futures past.Even the door handles are cool. You open them like you're shootinga freaking missile out of a fighter jet.- Ejecto seato cuz.- All that being said, this is the best interiorI've ever been in.100%.That's not even the coolestpart about this car.The coolest part is outside,in the frigid Los Angeles winter.(music thumping)So, let's get down to the brass ass tacksof what make this car stand outfrom any other Charger ever built. The body.I just want a host note.I love the name Charger, because Charger means electricityand electricity appears in naturein the form of freaking lighteningwhich is one of fastest things ever.Lightening is so fastthat it creates thunder.Which is the third coolest thing ever.It goes lightening, lava, thunder.Lava's on there cause itkilled the Terminator.(Terminator crashing)(yelling)(laughing)Speedkore use lasers, the fourth coolest thing ever,to scan a 1970 Charger to ensurethat every measurementis absolutely perfect.Lasers don't lie. They're just like hips.Once getting the measurements,Speedkore made models andlaid in the carbon fiber. The result is a perfectreplica of an OEM fendermade with the same carbonBoeing uses on the 787.That's a big plane.Speedkore didn't use and old carbon.No.That's not their style. You guys listening? They used what is calledpre-impregnated carbon fiber. It sounds very funny.I am trying very hard not to laugh at it.Normal carbon fiber is laid outand then brushed with resin. That's what makes it stiff. Also a very funny word. But prepreg carbon is frozen, literally, when Speedkore gets itwith the resin already in there. The sheets have to thaw out beforethey get laid into the mold. The carbon is then baked and pressurizedin an autoclave where the resin melts. After the parts come out of the clave, they are stronger andway lighter than steel. You guys have probably noticedthat Speedkore didn't even paint this carbecause, no doy,it looks so sick.We have a great crew here at Donutand they're doing their bestto light it and shoot it.But in person, it lookslike a freaking water moccasin. And if you don't knowwhat a water moccasin is,it's the scariest thing in Florida. And Florida is full of scary things. This piece right here isone single absolute unitthat goes all the wayto the front of the carand is bonded to the roofwith a bonding agent, which is an agent that is used to bond. This is the same technique used ingajillion dollar supercars, like the McLaren Sennawhich we did an episode on.You can check it out right here. And just like the original Charger, they maintain the headlights in the hood.So when you turn on yourturn signals, you know it.But they made their own bezel, which is kind of concaveand just like everything else on this car, absolutely beautiful. They tucked the exhausttips into the bumper. They thought of literally everything. The Evolution was builtas a proof of concept.Speedkore's plan is tobranch out from Chargersand start making carbon fibber parts forCamaros and Mustangs orwhatever people ask them to do.If there's a market, they'll do it.The Speedkore Evolution might bethe most advanced muscle car ever built.People might be skeptical of Detroit ironwithout any iron in it.But this car is proof thatthe technology of todaycan be used to save whatwe love from yesteryear, which is why I would like to announcethat I am building a time machineso that I can go back intime and get me a dinosaur.(yelling)Thanks for watching Bumperto Bumper every Tuesday. This show will be onDonut until the day I die.Up to Speed is still every Thursday, until after
