My Best Mobile Phone Imaginable (2016)

The Quest for the Perfect 2016 Smartphone: A Personal Perspective

Before we dive into my vision for the perfect 2016 smartphone, I want to encourage you all to pause and share your own dream smartphone with us. Take a moment to type out what features you think would make an ideal device in the comment section below. Once we've collected our thoughts, we can compare notes and see who's got the most innovative ideas. But for now, let's take a look at my personal vision for the perfect 2016 smartphone.

My Perfect Display: A 5.7-Inch 2K Screen

I'm starting with the display, which I believe is the heart of any great smartphone. For me, it's all about getting the resolution right. While some might argue that a higher resolution like 4K would be better, I genuinely think that 2K is more than sufficient for most users. In fact, I've had the chance to try out both 2K and 4K displays on different devices, including the Xeria Z5 with its 4K screen. To my surprise, I found that my Note 5's 2K display offered a better viewing experience.

I also appreciate the idea of curved edges, not just for their functionality but also as a visual design element. There's something about the sleek, curved lines of a well-designed smartphone that makes it stand out from the crowd. Of course, this is all subjective, and ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.

Speed: The Key to a Great Smartphone Experience

When it comes to choosing a smartphone, speed is often the most important factor for me. I'm willing to pay more for a device with faster components, even if that means sacrificing some features or design elements in the process. For my perfect smartphone, I'd opt for 6 GB of RAM and the Exynos 8890 processor. In tests comparing the two versions of the Galaxy S7, the Exynos 8890 was shown to be significantly faster than the Snapdragon 820, as well as more battery-efficient.

In terms of battery life, I'm looking for something that can easily push through a full day of use without needing to recharge. After using my Note 5 for about six months, I've come to realize that two days is all I really need. Anything beyond that, and I start to feel like I'm carrying around a brick.

The Future of Android: Vanilla Experience

One trend that's been on my radar lately is the proliferation of skins and custom ROMs. While these can offer some interesting features, they often do more harm than good by slowing down the operating system or introducing unnecessary complexity. For me, there's only one way to go: vanilla Android.

With vanilla Android, I get the freedom to customize my experience from the ground up. No more cluttered homescreens or bloated skins getting in the way of what matters most – the apps and features that make my smartphone truly shine. And let's be real, it's about time we got away from all these unnecessary skins!

Storage: A Vital Component for Smartphones

When it comes to storage, I'm appalled by how hit-or-miss manufacturers can be. One minute they're offering a generous 128 GB of internal storage, and the next they're restricting us to paltry amounts like 32 GB. It's like they think we'll never run out of apps or media – newsflash: we will!

That's why I'm advocating for more flexible storage options, like microSD card slots. And speaking of which, I'd love to see a smartphone with storage capacity that rivals the Sega V Squared's impressive 464 GB internal storage (not to mention its two expandable SD card slots).

The Camera: A Key Component for Capturing Life's Moments

For my perfect smartphone, the camera is where it all comes together. In today's world, we're constantly snapping photos and videos on our devices – whether we're out with friends, exploring new places, or just capturing life's everyday moments.

Given the importance of good camera quality, I believe a 12 MP sensor is more than sufficient for most users. Of course, having a wide aperture will always help in terms of low-light performance and overall image sharpness. And let's not forget about optical image stabilization – it makes all the difference when capturing smooth, steady footage.

Finally, advanced features like advanced portrait mode or enhanced video recording capabilities are just icing on the cake for me. For now, I'll settle for a solid foundation in terms of camera quality and leave it up to the manufacturers to innovate further from here.

compare with each other but this is mine so to begin with we're going to have a 5.7 in 2K display beyond that resolution on a screen size which is probably perfect for me I genuinely think I can't tell the difference I actually looked at the screen on the xeria Z 5 which was running a 4K resolution and I found the 2K1 on my Note 5 an actual better viewing experience experience I also kind of like the idea of a curved Edge less because of the functionality and more just because it's an interesting visual flare when it comes to actually choosing smartphones the speed of the components is a big big factor to me I would definitely be willing to pay a lot more for a phone that is faster and as a result I would opt for 6 GB of RAM and the exos 8890 processor in tests of the two different versions of the Galaxy S7 the 8890 was shown to be not only faster than the Snapdragon 820 but also more battery efficient and in terms of battery I'm going to go for 4,000 Milah with all these things there's always a tradeoff and with batteries it tends to be in the form of Aesthetics go for a big battery and you're going to offset the extra juice you get with a phone that's a bit bulkier a bit thicker and a little bit less Pleasant to hold and I think 4,000 Mah is enough to push this smartphone through two full days of use and to be honest that's all I really need after using the Galaxy Note 5 for about 6 months now I've decided that vanilla and Android is the way forward it doesn't really make sense to pile all these skins on top which potentially do slow down Android if they're not even what you want vanilla Android lets you build your experience from the ground up something I regarded as an absolute essential with smartphones I buy is storage and it's really irritating me these days how smartphone manufacturers so hit and miss with their micro SD card support taking inspiration from the Sega V squ smartphone which actually has storage capacity for two 200 GB storage cards effectively making its internal storage 464 GB I'm going to opt for this in my perfect smartphone and then it comes to the camera for which we're going to go for a 12 map sensor given today's Optics anything above that is pretty IND discernible we're going to have a wide aperture to get lots of Boke a and lots of light in our shots and then we're also going to go for advanced Optical image stabilization to get Silky Smooth video like this it makes more difference than people think anyway guys that's it for me for now be sure to put your perfect smartphones in the Des descriptions below
