NZXT H440 Case w_ PSU Shroud - Hands-On & Cable Management _ CES 2014

**NXT H440 Case Review: A Comprehensive Look**

Steve from Gamers Nexus introduces nxt’s latest addition to their product line—the H440 case. This review delves into the features and capabilities of this new case, offering insights for gamers and PC builders.

---

### **Introduction to the NXT H440 Case**

Steve begins by highlighting nxt's H440 as a promising new case in their lineup. Known for innovative designs and quality builds, nxt continues to impress with the H440, which offers several standout features that set it apart from competitors.

The H440 is part of nxt’s branding family, following models like the H630—a large soundproofed case. The H440 shares some similar sound absorption techniques, promising a quieter build environment for fans of both aesthetics and performance.

---

### **Design Highlights: Aesthetic and Functional Features**

One of the most striking features of the H440 is its sleek design, featuring a prominent side window that showcases nxt’s logo with an LED light. This design choice not only enhances visual appeal but also provides easy access to internal components, making it ideal for showcasing custom builds.

The case also boasts a PSU shroud—a standout feature. This shroud effectively hides all cabling, offering a cleaner and more organized look inside the PC. The absence of traditional drive scaffolding contributes to this minimalist aesthetic, making the H440 visually appealing without compromising functionality.

---

### **Build Quality: Sound Absorption and Construction**

The H440 continues nxt’s tradition of high-quality builds with sound absorption foam lining all panels. This foam is strategically placed to absorb fan noise while maintaining a robust structure. The side window area notably lacks foam, ensuring clarity in the LED logo display without sacrificing acoustic performance.

The construction of the H440 mirrors other nxt cases, featuring familiar elements like a bezel and sturdy frame. This consistency in design ensures durability and alignment with previous models, offering users a reliable build they can trust.

---

### **Cooling Capabilities: Radiators and Fans**

Cooling is a critical aspect of any gaming PC, and the H440 excels here. It supports two 360mm radiators, one positioned at the top and the other at the front. This setup allows for efficient cooling without compromising on space or aesthetics.

The case ships with three front fans (120mm) and a rear fan (140mm), providing ample airflow to keep components cool. The combination of these fans and the radiator support ensures optimal thermal performance, making the H440 suitable even for high-end builds.

---

### **Cable Management: A Step Above**

Cable management can be a challenge for many PC builders, but the H440 simplifies this process. The PSU shroud plays a crucial role by concealing cables, allowing for a neat and organized setup without visible clutter.

A standout feature is the GPU cutout, which enables direct cable routing to the graphics card. This eliminates the need for messy snaking behind the motherboard, streamlining the build process and enhancing overall aesthetics.

---

### **Storage Options: Flexibility and Accessibility**

The H440 offers versatility in storage solutions. It includes four 3.5-inch drive bays and two SSD slots above the power supply. These options provide ample space for both traditional hard drives and modern NVMe SSDs, catering to a range of user needs.

Notably absent is optical drive support, reflecting the trend towards flash-based OS installations. However, this omission allows for a cleaner front panel design, enhancing the overall sleek appearance of the case.

---

### **Dust Filtration: Keeping Things Clean**

Maintaining clean internals is essential for performance and longevity, and the H440 includes a magnetic dust filter. This filter is easily accessible by removing the front panel, allowing for simple maintenance without disassembling the entire system. Regular cleaning ensures optimal airflow and component health.

---

### **Availability and Pre-Order Information**

The nxt H440 is set to release soon, already available for pre-order. Steve encourages viewers to check the links in the video description for more details and to stay tuned for an upcoming thermal review, which will provide insights into its cooling efficiency and performance under load.

### **Conclusion: A Strong Addition to nxt's Lineup**

Steve concludes his review by praising the H440 as a solid addition to nxt’s product range. Its combination of aesthetic appeal, functional features, and robust build quality makes it an attractive option for gamers and PC enthusiasts alike.

Whether you're building a high-end gaming rig or seeking a reliable case for your next project, the H440 offers a balance of style and substance that is hard to ignore. nxt continues to innovate with the H440, setting new standards in PC case design and functionality.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everyone this is Steve from Gamers nexus.net and we are looking at nxt's new h440 case today this case has a PSU shroud which is probably one of the more interesting features um we do have an LED for nxt's logo and that is showcased through this huge side window on the side panel um the h440 you might be familiar with the branding from the h630 which uh which you know linked to the review below and the 630 is is sort of a large uh soundproofed case almost so this has some of the similar sound absorption stuff going on we've got some foam on all of the paneling obviously no foam where the window is um but it is it is some decent thickness foam there to absorb some of your fan noise and uh and then in terms of these other panels we've got some back here some up in the front and it might look like the uh the cable management depth is a little shallow here but that is because as you will see in the b-roll uh the PSU shroud here is hiding all the the cabling so you can actually just route almost everything through there and one of the cool Cable Management features is actually this uh GPU cutout so we've got a cutout right here where the cable can come up and go straight into your GPU you don't have any snaking going on behind the board or or through these uh other cutouts in the case in terms of the chassis and the frame it is pretty familiar to what we've seen with other ndxt cases um it's got kind of this bezel going on over here and then uh cooling wise there is um well first of all you can support two 360 mm radiators one on the top one on the front and stock it ships with three front fans 120 and one rear fan 140 and interestingly you might have noticed a lack of ugly Drive scaffolding uh first of all that that partly goes with the Shroud right it's it's making it a little bit more appealing to look at and inside we do not have any five and a quarter Bay so on the front it's just just a Sleek front discreet panel and uh that means no Optical support um but most OS installs are on flash drives now anyway in terms of Drive bays and here where the opticals would normally be we've got a total of four 3.5 slots and then we have two SSD slots down here right above the power supply and all that can be routed very very easily through these cutouts in the case and if you take the front of the case off there is a magnetic filter for your your dust filtration and that can easily be run under what and and clean that out that pretty much covers the h440 so it will be available within a couple of weeks it is already available for pre-order um hit all the links in the description below as always I will try to get you a review with thermal data and we will see you all next time peacehey everyone this is
