S15 Change of Plans - GOING TO BE SICK!

I'm really excited to finally be able to share some news with you guys about the car that I've been working on. It's been a long time coming, but it's finally starting to take shape. The plan is to strip it down and rebuild from the ground up, which is going to be a six-month project. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but trust me when I say that it's going to be worth it in the end. This car is going to have a finish level that's out of this world, with every detail meticulously considered and executed.

I want to thank you guys for your patience over the past few months. I know there was a lot of confusion about what was happening with the car, and I'm sorry if I got your hopes up too high only to let you down. But now that we've finally secured the necessary resources, we can move forward with confidence. We're going to be working closely with Duke's Performance in Japan, who are specialists when it comes to 240 parts and beasts. They're known for their expertise in this area, and I'm excited to see what they bring to the table.

One of the things that really stands out about Duke's is their customer support. The guys who work there are passionate car enthusiasts who know their stuff inside and out. It's not just a bunch of people working behind a counter; it's actual experts who can help you with any questions or concerns you might have. And they've got a huge warehouse full of stock, which means we'll be able to get the parts we need quickly and efficiently.

I have to admit, I'm probably one of their most annoying customers. I don't know the first thing about 240s, so I'm always on the phone asking them questions like "Will this work for that?" or "Can I do this on this car?" But they're always happy to help me out, and I appreciate that.

So what can you expect from me and Alberto now? Well, we're going to start by finishing up the 2JZ engine and getting that wrapped up. We'll be doing a video series building the 2J, which will probably come out sometime in the next week or two. Then, we'll bring the car over to Duke's Performance and do an introduction with their team. They'll be showing us around their facility and talking about their plans for the build.

Once that's all said and done, things are going to get really crazy. We're going to be working on this car full-time, which means it's going to be a wild ride. I'm excited, but also a little nervous. But hey, that's what makes life interesting, right? We'll be documenting every step of the way, and I hope you guys will be along for the ride.

One thing I want to mention is how this project has worked out in terms of timing. The fact that it's their offseason means we've got a great opportunity to get everything done without any distractions. It couldn't have worked better if we'd planned it that way. But now that we're finally moving forward, I can promise you that it's going to be worth the wait.

Lastly, I just want to thank you guys for your support and patience over the past few months. This project would never have been possible without all of you, so I appreciate it more than words can say. I'm excited to share this journey with you, and I know that in the end, we'll come out with something truly amazing.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enall right I owe you guys an explanation we picked up this s15 a few months ago and we've had the 2jz for almost nearly a year now so what is going on with this car what is the holdup why haven't we started it in this video I want to explain some things about this car and I have extremely exciting news that is like the best possible thing that could ever happen to this car before I get started though I feel like I kind of need to go back in time and explain how this car came about how the 2j came about basically I was really loving drifting and I was having a lot of issues with my SR and from the people I've spoken with I knew that two days these were very reliable and I decided to build one because I thought that I could make a lot of power with it and then not use all that power so I'm pushing an engine to less of its maximum capability compared to an SR my SR is making about 350 horsepower which is climbing up there for an SR and then I'd say midway into the engine build I had my trip to Ebisu in Japan where my entire mind set on drifting changed because I saw cars there that were abused for weeks straight months straight handle it and I didn't understand how until I realized that it's because these cars are stock they are being used how they were intended to from the factory I guess - the drifting part and they're simple they're easy to fix easy to repair and I just enjoy driving and driving and driving and driving and that's what I was trying to do with my S 13 little did I know at the time that an engine swap especially a built engine because my 2jz had become a 3 4 stroker because I thought more displacement would mean less boost and more alive well in retrospect I realized that I probably should have just kept the engine stock simple maybe even stock ECU but I don't want to get ahead of myself my mindset from Japan changed and I was planning on doing the summer drifting trip because I knew after episode I wouldn't be able to just drive a parking lot like I usually do in Orlando so rather than rushing the 2jz swap in my s 13 I decided that it would be better to just continue using the sr over the summer that had proven itself you know it had its problems but it worked it ran rather than just throwing a fresh engine swap and having to deal with all the problems that could potentially arise on the road without any help I figure we do the 2jz once I get back home we take our time we'd make it really nice work out all the issues do some private track days before I end up going on any far trips and I have to deal with it on my own now all that kind of changed when Alberto started having some issues with the shop that he was working at there's a lot of confusion about this because we don't really ever talk about it originally Alberto had his own shop called Kaizen that's where I initially met him I think I lost a shim in the head of my apps r20 and I paid him to disassemble the engine find the shim and then we ended up doing some more work there from there he ended up working at another shop because he just kind of wanted to take away the stress of owning his own business and just be a mechanic for another shop and I continued to pay him to work on my car there but Alberto wasn't really happy working at that shop and it was very evident for reasons of both the shop and Alberto I prefer not to discuss those reasons but it was very clear that he was unhappy and as Alberto's friend at this point because we had been working together out hanging out at the shop and I would help him whether it be building an engine or working on my car I wanted more for him and I knew that when he worked at Kaizen he was happier but he couldn't handle the stress of having his own business it's so expensive here what was cool is we've been doing so much work both on my car and the 240 that we got for Nicole that I kind of in my head knew that I had enough work to sustain Alberto's income without him having to work at another shop and being unhappy so the idea that we came up with was that Alberto would actually work on our cars here which I thought would be great for him because it's closer to where he lives it's a much nicer environment with air-conditioning and selfishly for me it's a lot nicer to film since we were filming a lot together in the convenience of my own home with the nice lighting and the air conditioning but the timing of all this happening right when we're about to leave for our summer trip kind of made it tricky because Alberto would essentially be without work for the two months that we would be gone because I'd be taking my car with me and he wouldn't be able to do anything on it so that's where we came up with the idea of doing a completely new build for the Jay Z there are a couple cars that we thought of and I thought that the coolest thing to do would be to put in an S 15 this car happened to be owned by a friend of mine locally it was a great deal and everything just kind of fell into place an entirely new would be more than enough work for Alberto to cover him over the two months over the summer so I could continue paying him to work on pretty much everything since that's a full build and for me it was rad too because I wanted to do a completely new build you know not that the cream ester Keane was getting boring but I always wanted to build a car from scratch and I thought it'd be really awesome content for you guys so the way that we came to agreement was basically that Alberto could keep all this things in my warehouse because he had quite a bit of stuff when you had to leave the shopping he had nowhere to put it he could also work out of the garage on my project so he wouldn't have to have rent or anything and I would pay him $50 an hour which is actually half of what I was being charged when he was working on my stuff at the shop but was the exact same amount of take-home pay that he got when he worked there since it was like a 50/50 split deal and in addition to that too I wanted to help him out because he was starting his YouTube channel at this point he was really hyped on it so I told him that he can make some videos of s15 and that's what I got you guys all riled up about so while that I was gone we could still have stuff being done to the s15 and we can see the progress that's being made with the car no mine do too because Alberto was a great friend of mine she doesn't necessarily charge me for everything will be lots of time to admits maybe something dumb that he just helps me fix or something not major but it's his living I respect that he has bills to pay and I never expect anyone to do anything for free now our things start to get complicated is when we bring his e36 into the mix because I also told him that he could work on his car and my garage over the summer he hadn't drifted forever he never had time to actually build a car of his own because he'd been so busy with all the shop work trying to paint bills that I told him that he could work on his car in the garage and his YouTube channel started doing really well with just the videos of him working on his 36 people really enjoyed him Alberto loved all the positive feedback from fans he was excited to go drifting and he was making like pretty good money doing it too to where I think he kind of lost incentive for the s15 because he really didn't need to work on it and I wasn't really putting that much pressure on him because in my head like what kind of friend would I be if I forced him to work on this instead of finishing his car like iron have a working car there's no need to rush this I might have been a little bit bummed at first when I came home from my trip and nothing ever really down on s15 but at the same time I kinda remind myself that the whole reason I got this car in the first place was to help Alberto out and where he is now is wait farther than he would have been just working on this car at least I think like he's doing so well for himself but I built up all the time for this car got pretty excited and now we really can't get to it because I'm back here I want to keep drifting and I keep on having to fix stuff on my car on the cols car because now I have a wife that stoked done drifting and these things take time both my time and Alberto's time when I need his help and he still has to finish his car so I kinda know that we're not gonna get around to this I can already tell that when we put a lot of time into both my car and/or Nicole's car he gets kind of bummed because he wants to be focusing on his car and I don't blame him I'm so excited for Alberto to drive I couldn't imagine he's gone years without drifting but I've got all these sponsors on board I have you guys all excited about this s15 and I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do and this is why this car has kind of been in limbo and I haven't been really talking about it because I didn't know what I was gonna do it was kind of a tricky situation I called up one of my friends in UC housing from st. Louis who built my friend David maskers three-point-four hatch and I talked to him about possibly helping us build a car whether I bring it out to him and st. Louis or I fly them down here but logistically it was just really complicated it would be really tough to film and document the build and although Andy does amazing work it just didn't seem logical I was kind of starting to run out of hope and just starting to accept the fact that this would probably be a year-long project maybe even a year and a half at the rate that we were moving until I was on the phone call with the owner of a company called in juku racing now and juku is a mail order parts place where pretty much they specialize in Nissan stuff s RR B and I've been pretty much boarding everything for my car from in tjuku since I got my s 13 mainly just because I don't know they have a really strong Florida presence and I like to support companies that kind of give back to the scene and companies that have a local presence so anyway I'm on a phone call with the owner and I'm just about how we can kind of do more together in terms of social media maybe sponsorship etc and I kind of threw out the idea of them building the s15 as a complete joke and Ken the owner absolutely loved the idea now this was more of a fantasy than anything to me because every time I've ever been to an jutsu the guys are always like working so busy so frantically trying to get their cars ready for the FDCs and that I knew there would be no time to work on a car like this especially because it's not for a big FD program or anything fancy like this but it turns out that I had talked to him at the perfect time because this year's FD season had just ended and Kevin Lawrence who just won the pro two championship by the way congratulations Kevin isn't building a completely new car for next year he's just kind of refreshing and going over his current chassis so they have a lot of extra manpower and time to take on something like this it may not seem like that big of a deal but to be able to have a ninja coup built car is like a dream situation because they're local so I can continue to film and document the process but they're also top-notch professional level drift car builders with more experience than anyone around here it could not be more perfect company suited to this car they have the availability for time they're into the idea but my main hang-up was Alberto the last thing I want to do you know I want to finish the S 15 but it's not worth losing a friend over especially when this car kind of emerged at first both for me and Alberto to build you know I've been looking forward to building it with Alberto in this garage that was kind of like the dream of mine to build an FD level car in this garage you mean Auburn who were both so excited about it that I've just been really really nervous and really scared to tell him about the conversation within tjuku and talk to him about the possibility of having them build the car but about three days ago I sat down with Alberto over some tacos after some small talk for a little while I dropped the the news on him and he took it a lot differently than I thought he would have I don't want to tell you what Alberto thought of the situation I would rather just wait until tomorrow he's gonna stop by in the morning and he's gonna talk about it with me I much rather you guys hear it from him because I think he's better at kind of explaining and everything so I summon you Alberto oh hey Alberto look who's here so I was just telling them kind of how nervous I was to tell you about that tjuku thing and I didn't want to speak for you and put words into your mouth so tell them what you thought of this idea well I think it's a pretty cool idea I'm actually already stuck for Adam yeah I think I deal with and tjuku is not easy and really means a lot a lot of people actually wish they could get the cars go by and you get a really big deal so it's like I actually stopped for it I'm not my like like I I'm actually excited for it it's really fun I know I didn't get to work on the 2jc because I was building my car which also open a whole opportunity so I finally have our car I'm sure you really talk about it one of the cool things about Kevin McArthur and yuku is the issue that we have with tools we don't have the equipment to do a massive drift car bill here where I'm talking about break sheet metal breaks I'm talking about like big fabrication equipment I do have my two vendor but I would have to anchor it down to the floor I can't do goals in your floor to like anchor it down either so that also when fabricating our car it makes a lot of debris so actually in just doing light work on the other cars already made that shot at night like that there are super dirty antennae my house area would have been through that also professional hands already it takes a long time to build a race car so we would have to build a car by ourselves on a garage in front of we were taking about like a year or something maybe it would have been a very long-term project and I think one thing that I should definitely clear up to is this by all means does not mean that like Alberto is getting excluded from the bill whenever he has time if he's still available I'd love for him to be a part of building ness15 come by I mean it's what 40 minutes down the road here ready to go over there or even when you're not there I'm down to come hell that sounds like a lot of fun and I Carlos will require a lot more work right now so I'll have school free time I definitely want to help I'm also looking forward finishing the engine so we can have that other way I'm done we'll probably do that before I end up bringing s 1510 tjuku we can just kind of finish up engine I think we have to toss cams and it may be well like fix up and kind of me out the manifolds just as like kind of a mock with the pulleys and stuff another great thing about this too is like I was saying there's still so much stuff that we constantly have to be doing between my 240 Nicole's 240 and I'm sure stuff is gonna break on your car I mean you're building it great but it's a car it's gonna become so now we're like if we were doing the s 15 here in the garage basically every time that we have to work on other car that s 15 gets thrown on the backburner and with it already means such a massive project it just it wouldn't get done and it would just kind of sit yeah true also hopefully you're inking last a little bit longer I said it's hard that's our bring to machine shop for anything we kind of just to get out the quick way where the the Jay Z we brought to a machine shop and you know two years it's gonna be a monster yeah I'm excited are you sure you're gonna be able to have you get I don't want to be able to I wanna they scare me you're gonna have to do smoky rocks for that you know you have to why like three times or four times I'm gonna tires I'm okay with that okay so I think that you should like let people know what's going on with your car I know there's some stuff that you don't want to talk about but like what are your kind of plans with your car so people have a better idea if they don't follow up on your videos all the time well I am building a pro two style car my mind way of building cars right now I build cars to empty space so there's stuff people are gonna say oh why didn't you do this way to that well some of those mods are illegal so I will try to keep within the robot that way I ever do want to take the car to competition level it's ready it's not I don't want to do much that I can't revert and in the car it's no good and I have to do another shell yeah the car it's can I get a white body so I'll probably uploading the video the white body today so that sex is super cool anything like this sick why body I am NOT doing a rocket morning like everybody else so I'm doing it differently and unique and actually looks better I think one of the interesting thing is kind of go on level FD build thing I really like working with in juku because they are so competition oriented that they know the stuff that's gonna break and they know ways to make it so it's easy to fix so not going to something specifically because I'm pretty sure this is like one of their secrets but there's a there's a certain part on the cars that people like to modify a lot but the issue is when you modify that part and then if it breaks it's hard to get another modified one as a replacement so I'm gonna do a lot of things so they can use stock parts so that way if they need to get another one they can just get another stock part and everything bolts right up that's why I'm also start about and you can buy them in the car because we have the same mindset when it comes to building the car on a produce car or any car the best you can do is make it serviceable you don't want to make something that looks clean but if you do break out the track you're there for hours and you have to miss a whole event trying to fix it you want to make stuff that you can fix quick so that's the way it should be building the cars and I'm pretty sure that will probably have the same idea will in the car we always have to sit with them and we'll throw what our plans were and what they would like to integrate to it I make a monster 5:15 and Bob their lead engineer who's kind of the brains behind all of their bill it's like he doesn't just build cars like you were saying it's yeah they're engineered they're planned so they're gonna be the most efficient way to put together to service and I think I should also mention like there's all this talk of like FD car like obviously another Dooku's involved that has an FD program I want to make it very clear that this car yes I'm building it to an FD level and it has a lot of parts that would be similar to an FD car it's gonna have a rear amount radiator it's essentially going to be an FD car but right now I drift for fun I have fun drifting like in my head I want to take this to kind of the events like I did over the summer just have fun drive with my other friends that have like high horsepower cars so it's a little bit easier to drive with them you know some of those bigger Texas tracks but they are fully aware that I don't really have concrete intentions to get into Formula Drift and they're perfectly okay with that and I think the thing is like I'm gonna be over there and we're gonna be filming we're gonna be creating content over at juku and I think it really is a win-win for everyone I think the amount of media that this car is gonna have it's gonna be sick it's getting very sick one of the reasons that we call empty spec it's not just that you have a ft spec car it's gonna be for for Mother Earth drifting if the spec means a power drivetrain and safety of the car meets from a rate requirement it's great some trucks are very strict so you know like if you have a car that's empty spec you will not have issues passing take on any other trucks too so that way sir got more guaranteed way for like having a successful drift series even if you're not competing and I I kind of want to like the whole idea with the 3/4 is building with room to grow so as an example with the car when we're doing all the fabrication stuff one of the things we mentioned was making the trans tunnel wide enough to fit a dog box even though I'm going with a CD of 9 so that way in the future if I ever get to a point where I want to kind of you know put my big boy pants on and run the car and a comp or something or like like in my head if I happen to be at a track and there's a pro-am event yeah and I'm feeling confident like I've had practice on that track I think it would be cool to do but like the competition stuff is just so stressful and so much money that I don't want to suck the fun out of drifting so bouncing back to and tjuku we had a big meeting yesterday a lot of people that are going to be involved in the project we kind of lost down and bounce some ideas back and forth and I'm really excited about it like I said in juvie building a car is like an unobtainable dream so the fact that this isn't even happening like this was a phone call where it was just a shot in the dark and now it's a reality I do want to put this out there even though now in Duke who's involved this still is gonna be like a six-month project to properly do this car to properly strip it down have a powder-coated assemble it disassemble it and do it right it takes a while even as a full-time thing it's gonna take a while but the finish level of this car is going to be out of this world what's really cool too is we talked a lot about cool ways that we can document the car even from not there because I probably won't be as involved as I would be if the car was in my own garage but I think that's almost a good thing too because when stuff is going on here I'm in the garage 24/7 all day and it kind of impacts my relationship with Nicole so I think having a little bit of distance will be good and they do have a full-time media guy that's gonna kind of help me document the car along the way if I want to still give you guys updates even if I'm not there but I think more or less you can expect to see this same type of coverage you would see how to be done in my garage just a little less frequently and balanced with the other cars and kind of all the other stuff that I have going on yeah this really is like an amazing scenario I know we've talked a lot about in juku and I briefly mentioned that they're kind of known for specializing in like their 240 parts and beasts and stuff but what I think the reason that kind of drew me to them in addition to the fact that they like are such a strong supporter of the local scene is they have really good customer support so with like car stuff when you're trying to order something it's not like there's one part that works on everything if you ever are curious if something works with something they always know the answer to have a bunch of guys who are deep into the drifting culture it's not like regular people who just go work there just to the thing they're actually car people working there oh it's gonna have icy with things and one of the good things about there is that they have a huge warehouse and most of the time how'd the partying in stock well that's great for us because we can just drive over there and get it right I think I'm probably one of their most annoying customers because me not knowing anything about to forties I'm always buy em on the phone like hey is will this work for this can I do this on this one thing else yes don't asking me all these questions like so I think what you can expect to see from me and Alberto now at least would be finishing the 2jz engine and kind of getting that complete wrapping up that video series building the 2j will probably be a video maybe sometime in the next week or two bring the mass 15 and all the parts over to Dooku maybe doing an introduction with their team and kind of talking a little bit more about the plans of the bill then we're gonna get started like it's gonna be a full time thing and it's gonna be crazy I'm really excited I'm uh starting my column like as soon as I bring the content we're starting on the corner yeah well now is the time because it's their offseason so yeah like that's why this is absolutely perfect timing it couldn't have worked any better I definitely wanna thank you guys for your patience there has been a lot of confusion about the car and I know that I kind of like really hyped you guys up and then we kind of I think we got in over our heads a little bit and we didn't really realize it and this is the back way that are all kind of I could possibly ever imagine yeah there's even still like he'll work on the car but then now we have the resources to get the car like don't how I picture it initially but then I was like oh wait how am I gonna build like that we don't have the necessary equipment to do it I think if we ended a building it was still would've come come out very nice yeah but it rather would have been similar to my s13 in terms of build level like it have a nice finish but it wouldn't be that like step above that you see in that EF cars that's where that's specialized tools commonplace so anyway I just wanted to thank you guys a lot for bearing with us we definitely ain't got in over our heads but I think there's a very bright future now for the past 15 this is extremely exciting stuff and I just you guys are excited I hope this clears up a lot of the confusion yeah guy says Garen would be awesome I really can't wait for that so thank you so much and good things are to come meall right I owe you guys an explanation we picked up this s15 a few months ago and we've had the 2jz for almost nearly a year now so what is going on with this car what is the holdup why haven't we started it in this video I want to explain some things about this car and I have extremely exciting news that is like the best Alberto could keep all this things in my warehouse because he had quite a bit of stuff when you had to leave the shopping he had nowhere to put it he could also work out of the garage on my project so he wouldn't have to have rent or anything and I would pay him $50 an hour which is actually half of what I was being charged when he was working on my stuff at the shop but was the exact same amount of take-home pay that he got when he worked there since it was like a 50/50 split deal and in addition to that too I wanted to help him out because he was starting his YouTube channel at this point he was really hyped on it so I told him that he can make some videos of s15 and that's what I got you guys all riled up about so while that I was gone we could still have stuff being done to the s15 and we can see the progress that's being made with the car no mine do too because Alberto was a great friend of mine she doesn't necessarily charge me for everything will be lots of time to admits maybe something dumb that he just helps me fix or something not major but it's his living I respect that he has bills to pay and I never expect anyone to do anything for free now our things start to get complicated is when we bring his e36 into the mix because I also told him that he could work on his car and my garage over the summer he hadn't drifted forever he never had time to actually build a car of his own because he'd been so busy with all the shop work trying to paint bills that I told him that he could work on his car in the garage and his YouTube channel started doing really well with just the videos of him working on his 36 people really enjoyed him Alberto loved all the positive feedback from fans he was excited to go drifting and he was making like pretty good money doing it too to where I think he kind of lost incentive for the s15 because he really didn't need to work on it and I wasn't really putting that much pressure on him because in my head like what kind of friend would I be if I forced him to work on this instead of finishing his car like iron have a working car there's no need to rush this I might have been a little bit bummed at first when I came home from my trip and nothing ever really down on s15 but at the same time I kinda remind myself that the whole reason I got this car in the first place was to help Alberto out and where he is now is wait farther than he would have been just working on this car at least I think like he's doing so well for himself but I built up all the time for this car got pretty excited and now we really can't get to it because I'm back here I want to keep drifting and I keep on having to fix stuff on my car on the cols car because now I have a wife that stoked done drifting and these things take time both my time and Alberto's time when I need his help and he still has to finish his car so I kinda know that we're not gonna get around to this I can already tell that when we put a lot of time into both my car and/or Nicole's car he gets kind of bummed because he wants to be focusing on his car and I don't blame him I'm so excited for Alberto to drive I couldn't imagine he's gone years without drifting but I've got all these sponsors on board I have you guys all excited about this s15 and I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do and this is why this car has kind of been in limbo and I haven't been really talking about it because I didn't know what I was gonna do it was kind of a tricky situation I called up one of my friends in UC housing from st. Louis who built my friend David maskers three-point-four hatch and I talked to him about possibly helping us build a car whether I bring it out to him and st. Louis or I fly them down here but logistically it was just really complicated it would be really tough to film and document the build and although Andy does amazing work it just didn't seem logical I was kind of starting to run out of hope and just starting to accept the fact that this would probably be a year-long project maybe even a year and a half at the rate that we were moving until I was on the phone call with the owner of a company called in juku racing now and juku is a mail order parts place where pretty much they specialize in Nissan stuff s RR B and I've been pretty much boarding everything for my car from in tjuku since I got my s 13 mainly just because I don't know they have a really strong Florida presence and I like to support companies that kind of give back to the scene and companies that have a local presence so anyway I'm on a phone call with the owner and I'm just about how we can kind of do more together in terms of social media maybe sponsorship etc and I kind of threw out the idea of them building the s15 as a complete joke and Ken the owner absolutely loved the idea now this was more of a fantasy than anything to me because every time I've ever been to an jutsu the guys are always like working so busy so frantically trying to get their cars ready for the FDCs and that I knew there would be no time to work on a car like this especially because it's not for a big FD program or anything fancy like this but it turns out that I had talked to him at the perfect time because this year's FD season had just ended and Kevin Lawrence who just won the pro two championship by the way congratulations Kevin isn't building a completely new car for next year he's just kind of refreshing and going over his current chassis so they have a lot of extra manpower and time to take on something like this it may not seem like that big of a deal but to be able to have a ninja coup built car is like a dream situation because they're local so I can continue to film and document the process but they're also top-notch professional level drift car builders with more experience than anyone around here it could not be more perfect company suited to this car they have the availability for time they're into the idea but my main hang-up was Alberto the last thing I want to do you know I want to finish the S 15 but it's not worth losing a friend over especially when this car kind of emerged at first both for me and Alberto to build you know I've been looking forward to building it with Alberto in this garage that was kind of like the dream of mine to build an FD level car in this garage you mean Auburn who were both so excited about it that I've just been really really nervous and really scared to tell him about the conversation within tjuku and talk to him about the possibility of having them build the car but about three days ago I sat down with Alberto over some tacos after some small talk for a little while I dropped the the news on him and he took it a lot differently than I thought he would have I don't want to tell you what Alberto thought of the situation I would rather just wait until tomorrow he's gonna stop by in the morning and he's gonna talk about it with me I much rather you guys hear it from him because I think he's better at kind of explaining and everything so I summon you Alberto oh hey Alberto look who's here so I was just telling them kind of how nervous I was to tell you about that tjuku thing and I didn't want to speak for you and put words into your mouth so tell them what you thought of this idea well I think it's a pretty cool idea I'm actually already stuck for Adam yeah I think I deal with and tjuku is not easy and really means a lot a lot of people actually wish they could get the cars go by and you get a really big deal so it's like I actually stopped for it I'm not my like like I I'm actually excited for it it's really fun I know I didn't get to work on the 2jc because I was building my car which also open a whole opportunity so I finally have our car I'm sure you really talk about it one of the cool things about Kevin McArthur and yuku is the issue that we have with tools we don't have the equipment to do a massive drift car bill here where I'm talking about break sheet metal breaks I'm talking about like big fabrication equipment I do have my two vendor but I would have to anchor it down to the floor I can't do goals in your floor to like anchor it down either so that also when fabricating our car it makes a lot of debris so actually in just doing light work on the other cars already made that shot at night like that there are super dirty antennae my house area would have been through that also professional hands already it takes a long time to build a race car so we would have to build a car by ourselves on a garage in front of we were taking about like a year or something maybe it would have been a very long-term project and I think one thing that I should definitely clear up to is this by all means does not mean that like Alberto is getting excluded from the bill whenever he has time if he's still available I'd love for him to be a part of building ness15 come by I mean it's what 40 minutes down the road here ready to go over there or even when you're not there I'm down to come hell that sounds like a lot of fun and I Carlos will require a lot more work right now so I'll have school free time I definitely want to help I'm also looking forward finishing the engine so we can have that other way I'm done we'll probably do that before I end up bringing s 1510 tjuku we can just kind of finish up engine I think we have to toss cams and it may be well like fix up and kind of me out the manifolds just as like kind of a mock with the pulleys and stuff another great thing about this too is like I was saying there's still so much stuff that we constantly have to be doing between my 240 Nicole's 240 and I'm sure stuff is gonna break on your car I mean you're building it great but it's a car it's gonna become so now we're like if we were doing the s 15 here in the garage basically every time that we have to work on other car that s 15 gets thrown on the backburner and with it already means such a massive project it just it wouldn't get done and it would just kind of sit yeah true also hopefully you're inking last a little bit longer I said it's hard that's our bring to machine shop for anything we kind of just to get out the quick way where the the Jay Z we brought to a machine shop and you know two years it's gonna be a monster yeah I'm excited are you sure you're gonna be able to have you get I don't want to be able to I wanna they scare me you're gonna have to do smoky rocks for that you know you have to why like three times or four times I'm gonna tires I'm okay with that okay so I think that you should like let people know what's going on with your car I know there's some stuff that you don't want to talk about but like what are your kind of plans with your car so people have a better idea if they don't follow up on your videos all the time well I am building a pro two style car my mind way of building cars right now I build cars to empty space so there's stuff people are gonna say oh why didn't you do this way to that well some of those mods are illegal so I will try to keep within the robot that way I ever do want to take the car to competition level it's ready it's not I don't want to do much that I can't revert and in the car it's no good and I have to do another shell yeah the car it's can I get a white body so I'll probably uploading the video the white body today so that sex is super cool anything like this sick why body I am NOT doing a rocket morning like everybody else so I'm doing it differently and unique and actually looks better I think one of the interesting thing is kind of go on level FD build thing I really like working with in juku because they are so competition oriented that they know the stuff that's gonna break and they know ways to make it so it's easy to fix so not going to something specifically because I'm pretty sure this is like one of their secrets but there's a there's a certain part on the cars that people like to modify a lot but the issue is when you modify that part and then if it breaks it's hard to get another modified one as a replacement so I'm gonna do a lot of things so they can use stock parts so that way if they need to get another one they can just get another stock part and everything bolts right up that's why I'm also start about and you can buy them in the car because we have the same mindset when it comes to building the car on a produce car or any car the best you can do is make it serviceable you don't want to make something that looks clean but if you do break out the track you're there for hours and you have to miss a whole event trying to fix it you want to make stuff that you can fix quick so that's the way it should be building the cars and I'm pretty sure that will probably have the same idea will in the car we always have to sit with them and we'll throw what our plans were and what they would like to integrate to it I make a monster 5:15 and Bob their lead engineer who's kind of the brains behind all of their bill it's like he doesn't just build cars like you were saying it's yeah they're engineered they're planned so they're gonna be the most efficient way to put together to service and I think I should also mention like there's all this talk of like FD car like obviously another Dooku's involved that has an FD program I want to make it very clear that this car yes I'm building it to an FD level and it has a lot of parts that would be similar to an FD car it's gonna have a rear amount radiator it's essentially going to be an FD car but right now I drift for fun I have fun drifting like in my head I want to take this to kind of the events like I did over the summer just have fun drive with my other friends that have like high horsepower cars so it's a little bit easier to drive with them you know some of those bigger Texas tracks but they are fully aware that I don't really have concrete intentions to get into Formula Drift and they're perfectly okay with that and I think the thing is like I'm gonna be over there and we're gonna be filming we're gonna be creating content over at juku and I think it really is a win-win for everyone I think the amount of media that this car is gonna have it's gonna be sick it's getting very sick one of the reasons that we call empty spec it's not just that you have a ft spec car it's gonna be for for Mother Earth drifting if the spec means a power drivetrain and safety of the car meets from a rate requirement it's great some trucks are very strict so you know like if you have a car that's empty spec you will not have issues passing take on any other trucks too so that way sir got more guaranteed way for like having a successful drift series even if you're not competing and I I kind of want to like the whole idea with the 3/4 is building with room to grow so as an example with the car when we're doing all the fabrication stuff one of the things we mentioned was making the trans tunnel wide enough to fit a dog box even though I'm going with a CD of 9 so that way in the future if I ever get to a point where I want to kind of you know put my big boy pants on and run the car and a comp or something or like like in my head if I happen to be at a track and there's a pro-am event yeah and I'm feeling confident like I've had practice on that track I think it would be cool to do but like the competition stuff is just so stressful and so much money that I don't want to suck the fun out of drifting so bouncing back to and tjuku we had a big meeting yesterday a lot of people that are going to be involved in the project we kind of lost down and bounce some ideas back and forth and I'm really excited about it like I said in juvie building a car is like an unobtainable dream so the fact that this isn't even happening like this was a phone call where it was just a shot in the dark and now it's a reality I do want to put this out there even though now in Duke who's involved this still is gonna be like a six-month project to properly do this car to properly strip it down have a powder-coated assemble it disassemble it and do it right it takes a while even as a full-time thing it's gonna take a while but the finish level of this car is going to be out of this world what's really cool too is we talked a lot about cool ways that we can document the car even from not there because I probably won't be as involved as I would be if the car was in my own garage but I think that's almost a good thing too because when stuff is going on here I'm in the garage 24/7 all day and it kind of impacts my relationship with Nicole so I think having a little bit of distance will be good and they do have a full-time media guy that's gonna kind of help me document the car along the way if I want to still give you guys updates even if I'm not there but I think more or less you can expect to see this same type of coverage you would see how to be done in my garage just a little less frequently and balanced with the other cars and kind of all the other stuff that I have going on yeah this really is like an amazing scenario I know we've talked a lot about in juku and I briefly mentioned that they're kind of known for specializing in like their 240 parts and beasts and stuff but what I think the reason that kind of drew me to them in addition to the fact that they like are such a strong supporter of the local scene is they have really good customer support so with like car stuff when you're trying to order something it's not like there's one part that works on everything if you ever are curious if something works with something they always know the answer to have a bunch of guys who are deep into the drifting culture it's not like regular people who just go work there just to the thing they're actually car people working there oh it's gonna have icy with things and one of the good things about there is that they have a huge warehouse and most of the time how'd the partying in stock well that's great for us because we can just drive over there and get it right I think I'm probably one of their most annoying customers because me not knowing anything about to forties I'm always buy em on the phone like hey is will this work for this can I do this on this one thing else yes don't asking me all these questions like so I think what you can expect to see from me and Alberto now at least would be finishing the 2jz engine and kind of getting that complete wrapping up that video series building the 2j will probably be a video maybe sometime in the next week or two bring the mass 15 and all the parts over to Dooku maybe doing an introduction with their team and kind of talking a little bit more about the plans of the bill then we're gonna get started like it's gonna be a full time thing and it's gonna be crazy I'm really excited I'm uh starting my column like as soon as I bring the content we're starting on the corner yeah well now is the time because it's their offseason so yeah like that's why this is absolutely perfect timing it couldn't have worked any better I definitely wanna thank you guys for your patience there has been a lot of confusion about the car and I know that I kind of like really hyped you guys up and then we kind of I think we got in over our heads a little bit and we didn't really realize it and this is the back way that are all kind of I could possibly ever imagine yeah there's even still like he'll work on the car but then now we have the resources to get the car like don't how I picture it initially but then I was like oh wait how am I gonna build like that we don't have the necessary equipment to do it I think if we ended a building it was still would've come come out very nice yeah but it rather would have been similar to my s13 in terms of build level like it have a nice finish but it wouldn't be that like step above that you see in that EF cars that's where that's specialized tools commonplace so anyway I just wanted to thank you guys a lot for bearing with us we definitely ain't got in over our heads but I think there's a very bright future now for the past 15 this is extremely exciting stuff and I just you guys are excited I hope this clears up a lot of the confusion yeah guy says Garen would be awesome I really can't wait for that so thank you so much and good things are to come me\n"
