**Testing Apple AirPods (2nd Gen) and AirPods 1st Gen: A Comparison**

I recently had the opportunity to test out the new Apple AirPods, specifically the second generation, alongside their first-generation counterparts. The new design has been updated with a more modern look, and I was eager to see if there were any significant improvements over the original model.

**Sound Quality Comparison**

To begin my comparison, I decided to put on both sets of AirPods and listen to a song by Louisa Verte on each pair. I also had my first-generation AirPods in case I needed to compare them directly. While it was hard to say definitively which one sounded better, I did notice that the new AirPods seemed to produce a slightly louder sound, with more bass. This might be due to the fact that the new AirPods are already showing signs of aging, having been released in 2019 and being used since then.

The first-generation AirPods, on the other hand, had a worn-in feel to them, which may have contributed to their slightly different sound profile. I found myself wondering if this was due to any inherent differences between the two models or simply a result of wear and tear over time.

**Wireless Charging and Accessories**

One notable feature of the new AirPods is their support for wireless charging. To test this out, I set up my Razer Wireless Charger and popped in both pairs of AirPods. The charging case on the new model also features a LED light that turns orange when it's charging, making it easy to keep an eye on the battery level without having to open the case.

**Siri Integration**

I was excited to test out the new feature that allows you to ask Siri questions while wearing the AirPods. I asked "Hey Siri" what my iPhone's battery percentage was for both sets of AirPods, and was surprised to find that the response popped up as "uh-huh" in my headphones. This seemed a bit confusing at first, but it's clear that Apple has implemented this feature to reassure users that their devices are listening.

When I asked "Hey Siri play music", the music began playing immediately, and when I said "Hey Siri stop", it stopped right away. It was impressive to see how seamlessly this integration worked, even if the initial response did seem a bit odd.

**Conclusion**

Overall, my experience with the new AirPods has been largely positive, although there are some limitations to their upgrade compared to the first-generation model. While the sound quality is slightly improved, it's not by much, and those who already have AirPods 1st gen may not see a significant enough difference to warrant upgrading.

However, for anyone in the market for new earbuds, I would highly recommend considering the second-generation AirPods. Their wireless charging capabilities, convenient case design, and seamless integration with Apple devices make them a solid choice. If you're due for an upgrade or looking to invest in a pair of high-quality earbuds, these might be worth checking out.

That being said, if you already have the first-generation AirPods and are happy with their performance, it may not be worth upgrading just yet. Apple has been working on improving the design and functionality of their products, so it's possible that future updates to the AirPods will address some of the limitations of this current generation.

aren't really that big of an upgrade over you know the original airports that I have here there's not too many changes you get hey Siri activation just like always on so you can just say like hey Siri do that do that you know it's so good that she's finally listening to me now my phone but yeah hey Siri is now like activated all the time on these airports which is a nice feature you don't have to double tap your ear anymore to activate Siri so that kind of frees up one action I suppose that you can do on these air pods which is nice but unfortunately one feature I was kind of really looking forward to and hoping that it actually implements into the second generation airports is volume control I like on the actual air pod so you could just like a Norse wipe up or something you swipe down to increase or decrease the volume I think that would be very nice and many people would use that but unfortunately that's not the case for this release this is kind of more like ear pods 1.5 or like air pod 1s it's not quite like that big of an improvement it's just slightly better and I kind of doubt Apple are going to release air pods gen 3 anytime soon we'll probably have to wait another year or so there are some rumors that we might release them in September time I guess but I kind of doubt they will but we may see air power there I don't know you never know that'll be cool you know and air power charging match for the air pods for your phone for your Apple watch if we have one I don't have one but yeah well that said let's hop into this package let's unbox it take a look at these guys and see if they're any better than the first gen air pods alright so we have the Box front here let's unsheath the old Karambit as always this is already been cut so no need to cut anything I guess but here they are you'll deliver Dubai DPD this morning that's just Qatar open as well right cool here they are the packaging looks I'd say identical to the other one and the air pod case itself looks nearly identical as well but so yeah it says air pods with wireless charging case right there you can get your name engraved on the case as well I unfortunately didn't do that though because I kind of messed up when ordering these I didn't know that you could get engraved so yeah you can get like your name engraved on the airport case if you want to but I didn't do that by accident so they don't know that was a thing when ordering it but anyway here it is let's cut for this outer packaging out as well and take them out go all good let's open it up designed by Apple in California yep ooh here they are packaging is you know nearly identical to the first gen you get a lightning cable as well it's a crappy quality lightning cable I'm gonna probably not use this and just use an anchor one instead that's much more durable as this one here will probably break relatively soon but here are the air pods yes sir unpackage them boo how do you do this to peel this part uh-huh oh they're shiny now here's the new airports here's my old air pods this one definitely looks newer my whole the hair pod case is definitely quite beat-up I've owned these since I think November of 2017 so they've been through a lot that they've been through a lot but they still work like there's nothing wrong with them you know everything's still good they need a bit of cleaning to be honest but you know that's kind of what happens when you'd have your air pods for a while but this one here looks much nicer and in terms of weights they feel relatively the same I'd say this one's probably a bit heavier than the original airports one but so yeah we have two wireless charging case instead if they're being the LED lights inside of the case it's down the front so if we open this up there's an LED on the front there it's currently probably wanting to pair up with a phone so there we go a lot to connect oh there we go yeah uh-huh and we're done right cool so that was it that was easy ends air pods - tag - my second pair but if we press this button here we can see the battery percentage of the airport and the battery percentage of the case as well so that's all cool and then of course if you open up the case that'll pop up on your phone as well you close it they go away you open it again the pop up so it all works very well okay and they're currently orange so that probably means like you know they're being charged up that's what I'd have to guess that's cool I do kind of like this new updated look of them and they do look brand new they really do alright so that further ado I guess let's take them out and pop them in my ear ladies connect right they've connected right away awesome let's hop into Spotify or I'm on a max D volume out I want to see there's like a difference at all going from first gen to these are new air parts dude right loaded lil uzi lat okay so listen to a bit of Louisa Verte song on the new airport I'm gonna put my old ones in now and see if there's any difference in terms of like sound quality so there we go got first gen air pods in so I'm gonna put the new ones in again oh this is this is a close one I do feel like the new ones sound better like there's more bass they feel a bit louder but that might just be like you know like a placebo I guess right I'll put the old ones in again yeah like I feel like there is a difference in terms of sound quality and that might just be because like these airports are you know they're quite old now they've uh I'm holdin since November of 2017 so they definitely aged quite a bit so that might be why these new ones sound like better fun but not by much not by much right um interesting very interesting so in terms of sound quality they sound may be a little bit better it is genuinely pretty hard to say one of these new ones sound better than the you know air pods gen1 I don't know one thing I do want to test out though is whether these new wireless charging air pods work with my razor wireless charger here so it's a Popham on here will they charge oh my god it actually does so it's all working good we have the razer wireless charger here we can of course also set it up to be like upwards or up right so you can put the charger up like this will that align with the air pause and charge it up that'll be funny I don't think it's quite aligned the coils up so I can't really do that but if you pop them in the middle there that will go green it's charging it's so good the airport case also like turns orange to let you know like yo you know we charging up now it's so good you don't have to open up the case to check whether it's charging or not so that's good now they move the LED to the actual outside of the case which is nice I've connected to the airport's while they're inside the case while they're charging now and I can hear the music in there hey Siri what's the berry percentage on my air pods your import cases at 73 emulous ascent pods number to an ad in the air mill associate number two is the ninety percent so you can ask a Siri for the battery percentage of your case and of your air pods which is good I'm gonna pop them in and actually try the whole hey Siri thing and see if that works so it's a pause Illume easy but hey Siri oh my god what the hell right that was weird I said hey Siri and it popped up as uh-huh what the hell hey Siri alright so whatever you ask the Siri it pops up as uh-huh in your headphones which is quite interesting but it lets you know that you know it's listening in case you know your phone's like out of sight so that's cool now it works hey Siri play music hey Siri stop hey Siri oh okay that actually worked so the music was blasting there I couldn't even hear myself I said hey Siri stop and they did alright so he Siri what's well happy or that happy with the wires charging case bit expensive but you know it's Apple it is what it is but yeah that's pretty much gonna be it for this video everyone thank you so much for watching hope you enjoyed it you're gonna go check out air pods -
