The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i: A Creator's Paradise
Today, I'm excited to share with you my experience with the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i, a laptop that has been designed specifically for creators like myself. As I sat down to work on this video, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. It's been a while since I've been in front of the camera, and it feels great to be back doing what I love.
I started by talking about the laptop's display, which features Lenovo's PureSight Pro panels with a 3K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. I was impressed by the color accuracy and brightness, even when I was editing outside in different lighting conditions. The premium suite of features on this laptop is also worth mentioning, including a high-quality webcam and IR sensor for Windows Hello facial recognition.
I also had the opportunity to test out the laptop's audio capabilities, which were impressive considering it comes with four built-in speakers that are really quite high quality. The inputs on this laptop are also very nice, with a generously sized touchpad and a keyboard with 1.5 millimeters of key travel. I was able to type at a pace of around 80 words per minute, which is pretty accurate.
But what really sets the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i apart is its excellent port selection. With dual USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, a full-size SD card reader, HDMI, and two USB-A ports, this laptop has everything I need to stay productive.
Of course, as a sponsored video by Lenovo, there's no question about where my allegiance lies. But if you're looking for a creator laptop that checks all the boxes, then the Yoga Pro 9i is definitely worth considering. The fact that Lenovo have made a device that is competent in every single way I could possibly ask for is incredibly impressive.
As I wrapped up this video and looked around at some of my old school shooting spots, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. It's been a while since I've been back to some of these familiar places, but it feels great to be back doing what I love. So if you want to know more about the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i, definitely be sure to check out the link in the description below.
Big thank you to Lenovo for sponsoring this video and giving me the incentive to get back out here and make an old school video, come back to some of the old school spots we used to shoot. It really feels good, man.
WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- Today it is just me.So my friends over at Lenovoreached out and wanted to sponsor a video.I knew I couldn't just do a regular video. This is the Yoga Pro 9i,although here in North America,it's known as the Lenovo Slim Pro 9i.So when I started working on this videoI had a call with Lenovoand they were kind oftelling me about the Pro 9iand you know, some of thefeatures and you know, obviously this is a very powerful laptopthat is designed for creators. But for me, it got me thinking. It has been a long time sinceI have done a video solo. For some context, Ihave been making videos,by the time you watch this, for 14 years. This is the city whereI shot videos for years.(train horn toots)I don't miss that at all.The amount of videos that have been shotright where I'm standing is incredible.Like, this is the placewhere I went from beinga solo YouTuber to,by the time we left, having a teamof over 10 people and multiple channels. It was like I came in one personand I left a very different one. While I love where we're at right nowthere was a really happy point in my lifewhere I did all of this by myself.I'll be honest, some days it feels likeI'm more of a businessperson than a YouTuber. And while I absolutely love the factthat I have an amazingteam to help me do that, sometimes I just wanna do it on my own. When I had this opportunity from Lenovoto make this video on the Pro 9,it really made sense to me to come back,in a lot of ways, home,to talk about this laptopand make this video using the laptop. So I am actually using thePro 9i to edit this video,to now only have a better appreciationfor the power of this device, but also to have a littlebit more appreciationfor how far things have come.So lemme tell you a little bitabout the Lenovo Yoga linesbecause things have evolved a lotover the last couple of years. So while traditionally Yogashave been convertibles, instead, one of the mainthings you'll see herethat are actually a number of linesthat are not convertibles. So you've got the All in ones, you've got these Slim line,as well as you've got the Pro line. And that's what I've got here today. It's something which is very much designedfor professionals. When you think about whatthe Pro 9i is all about,it really is focused on deliveringan incredibly high level of performancein a very slim and easy to carry chassis. While there is botha 14.5 and a 16 inchversion of this laptop, for me it's not even a close competition. The 14.5 is absolutely the move for me.Now if you value a larger screen size,by all means the 16 is available. They're largely the same. It's a couple of minoradvantages on the 16,like you've got a littlebit better performancethanks to it's improved, you know, cooling assembly is physically larger. But there is a time where I dailied,15 and 16 inch laptops.I did that thoughbecause I had to do that.Going down to a small laptopmeant massively sacrificingthe performance. But now you got a 4070, anRTX 4070 inside, Core i9.I've got 64 gigs of RAM in this laptopand it fits in a bagwithout even having togive it a second thought. So I've been editing thevideo you're watching so faron the Yoga Pro 9i today, and I have a few takeaways.First and foremost is the performance. So the Yoga Pro 9icomes in a wide variety of configurations. So this is pretty muchthe absolute max spec. It's outfitted with a Core i9 13905Hwhich is a 14 core CPU.But importantly, Lenovo have also gottena smaller overall package for the CPU,which basically means there'smore room on the motherboard, you have larger fans inside, there's less internal spacebeing taken up by that CPU.And on top of that there'salso a performance advantage.Because the RAM can be soclose to the actual CPUit means that we were actuallygetting even higher speeds,6,400 megahertz with an RTX 4070 on board.Clearly there's a lot ofGPU horsepower on tap. Now, don't get me wrong, this is not a gaming laptop. Now it does have a verynice 165 hertz display.I'll talk about that in a second, but it's meant much moreso as a creative device. You can certainly gameon this, and you know,I may or may not do alittle bit on the sidebut it really is meantmore for creative tasks. And through squirrels who are apparentlyvery much happy to hang out.My dude, I don't have anything. One area where you werenot sacrificing performanceis with the display. So this is using what Lenovo calltheir PureSight Pro panels,3K resolution, 165 hertz.I like the color accuracy andI also appreciate the factthat it does get really quite brighteven when I'm outside trying to edit. Then there's the premium suite, which encompasses a numberof different options. So, (beep). So I was editing this part of the videowhen I realized that it wasnot exactly a great ideato do an audio demo outsidewhere there's wind and squirrels. So why don't I show you thepremium suite in the studio. The webcam, as well as the IR sensorfor Windows Hello facial recognitionlive above the displayin a little sort of notchthat allows you to easilynot only open the laptop, but importantly has spacefor a high quality webcam. Also, this Pro 9i doeshave a little switchon the side of the laptop, which will immediatelyturn off the webcam. Now you're probablynot supposed to do thiswhile it's recording, but...I don't know what happens.Oh, it just shuts it off entirely.Okay, so if I turn it off,the webcam is completely disconnectedand then if I flip itback on, it still works.Boy, I hope that didn't justruin my recording. (chuckles)And to give you just a little sample, right now you are listeningto these four microphonesthat are built into the Pro 9i.(upbeat music)The four speakers built into the Pro 9iare also really quite high quality.(upbeat music)The inputs here are also quite nice. You've got yourself agenerously sized touch padas well as a keyboard with1.5 millimeters of key travel.I usually type somewherein the neighborhoodof 90 ish words per minute. All right, ready, and...Woo, okay, 80 words per minute.I choked there.I'm gonna do one more.I'm gonna do one more, just, you know.Boom, 102 words perminute, perfect accuracy. That's what I'm talking about. This is such a good keyboard.Obviously, laptop keyboardscan be a variety of different typesof okay to decent to pretty solid. And I would say this isabsolutely on the top tier.I'm glad I did the second time. (laughs)On top of that, there's alsoa full two month subscriptionto the Adobe Creative Cloud. And importantly, it's not just a trial.Even if you already havea subscription to Adobe, all it'll do when you buy this laptop, you activate it, it'llgive you two months offwhich is like $100 in legitimate value. And then there's thesustainability aspect to consider. So this laptop is usingTidal Teal as the color, which I absolutely love.On top of that it'susing recycled aluminum, and you know, thepackaging is eco-friendly.But when you combine that withthe excellent port selectionincluding dual USB-C / Thunderbolts, you've got a full sizeSD card reader, HDMI,you have two USB-As.It is so, so nice to haveall the ports I need.Like, look, I completely understandthat this is a sponsoredvideo by Lenovo, right? There is no question about that. But if you ask me what ismy ideal creator laptop, this is basically it.I love the look, I love the display,I love the performance, the port selection. There's not really a whole lot morethat you can ask for, for a device, which is specificallydesigned for creatives. At the end of the day, there are of course a huge varietyof different devicesthat can help you createthe creative tasks that you want to.There's no right answer for everyone. But the fact that Lenovohave made a device, which is this competent in, essentially, every single way that Icould possibly ask for,is incredibly impressive. So if you wanna know more, definitely be sure to go check it outat the link of the description. And big thank you to Lenovofor not only sponsoring this videobut really giving me the incentiveto get out here and makean old school video, come back to some of the oldschool spots we used to shoot.(sighs) Feels good, man.It really feels good.
