My Car: A Discussion of Performance and Competition

As I sit here thinking about my car, I have to admit that I'm not too thrilled about taking up a garage spot at Uncle Rich's house. He's a wealthy individual who isn't going to take no for an answer, and he recently "borrowed" my Corvette without so much as a by-your-leave. However, despite the initial inconvenience, I'm still working on finding a suitable storage solution for my beloved 1963 Corvette.

Uncle Rich's Event: A Great Time Was Had

I did attend one event recently that was great fun, and Uncle Rich did well too. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see his right-hand drive car in action, as he went out without even telling me, let alone getting it onto the track for a video shoot. Fortunately, someone else's camera caught him running, so you can check out his Instagram and YouTube channels to see his impressive speed.

A Close Contest: The Iconic GT500

I also participated in another event recently, where I found myself pitted against a GT500 from Iconic. Despite having slightly more power than my own car, the GT500's belt issue held it back from reaching its full potential. In contrast, my own car performed well, with about the same amount of power as before, but still managed to give the GT500 an edge in terms of overall performance.

Racing Strategies: The Importance of Wing Placement

Some people have been commenting on social media that I should consider removing the wing from my car to improve its aerodynamics. However, I'm not too keen on taking such drastic measures. I believe that the current setup is fine and doesn't detract from the overall appearance of the car. Moreover, what's the point of racing if it's all about modifying your car beyond recognition? As a driver, I'd rather focus on mastering my skills and adapting to different driving conditions.

The Power of Mid-Range Performance

I've been focusing on improving the mid-range performance of my car, which has proven to be very strong. In recent events, I was able to achieve impressive times in the 60-130mph range, with some even suggesting that I might have a chance at beating certain other cars in this category.

Lessons Learned from Recent Events

I've been racing various cars, including a Subaru, a Maggie 2650 blower-equipped car, and an RS3. While I was initially disappointed to only reach speeds of around 150mph on one occasion, I realized that it was largely due to my own mistake – holding the paddle in too long. The experience taught me to be more focused and mindful during these high-speed events.

Future Plans: Racing and Upcoming Events

I'm planning to continue racing throughout the season, with a focus on keeping my skills sharp and adapting to different cars and track conditions. I'd like to think that my car will remain competitive, but it's always possible that other drivers might have an edge over me. Who knows? Maybe I'll even host some joint events with Iconic in the future – we'll see.

The Legacy of the ZR1: Keeping a Benchmark Car Alive

My car has become somewhat legendary among racing enthusiasts, and people often use it as a benchmark for comparison. While it's true that there are other cars that can outperform my ZR1, I'd like to think that its reputation will endure – at least in certain circles. Perhaps, with some adjustments and fine-tuning, I'll be able to return the ZR1 to its former glory, much to the delight of its fans.

who's behind us rich sky roll race in ladash yeah i hope so it is not dude like 1945 chevy i like it what if it's like he gets out there it's like a jet it's like watching an f-22 raptor fly down the track if you've never been to a slipstream event it's awesome i highly recommend it you should sign up do it it's a really cool venue like how often do you get to race on a nascar track not often right rich got the top down you get oh man is he racing with the top down top down rich that's it man let's go you're racing with no roof next race all right so you ready for the first race of the season this is going to be epic pocono raceway couldn't ask for a nicer day great venue and i can't wait no idea who i'm gonna race i know that iconic and i are racing again round three i know that's happening other than that i really have no plans so we'll get out we'll get out there and we'll see who looks fast and we'll try to have some fun i'm not even sure why you're at this event this is for fast cars oh this one's for fast cars yeah fast all right i'm going home then yeah like my car okay yeah i'm gonna go home you know cars to go at least 140. okay yeah i'll go home we're gonna do a little test run see how the car is see how it behaves downpipes in tune dme 720 very very fast car and we'll see how the zr1 does super nice guy we met i'd say three years ago here now and he's had the same car every year i've not had the same car for two years very fast very consistent car so should be a good run wow that is good he's got me on the top end to be expected i got the big wing he's got way better arrow to be expected but that's a good race man 150 160 the arrow of the 720s is hard to beat so there you can see as the speeds get higher my zr1 you know just doesn't have the arrow we got the big wing on the back you know so it's tough but that's a really good race just the top end of that can't do it i love it it's so sick thanks for thanks for racing though great runs against the 720s i know that his 60 to 130 is about equal to mine we're talking like low fours maybe high threes and uh you know low to mid four depending on a lot of factors but you're talking anywhere from three nine to like four or five basically we'll get back out there i wanna race stang mode and iconic can spj is it really cool please come and look at this thing i'll come look at it it's like i gotta give the run down and then i'll come look at it i need an svj that is on the agenda guys svj on the channel maybe later this year or maybe next year i don't know but it's gonna happen for sure iconic gt500 now freshly the world's fastest gt500 he just got in the eights and again this isn't like a stripped-out race car he daily drives it i've seen it before you guys have all seen it on the channel we have raced now two times every race we've done has been very very close so it should be good again i'm making a little bit more he's making more i am running the bell right now we have no air filter hopefully we don't suck in a bird or anything in our intake there i need all the airflow for all the power yeah stang mode his car runs strong it's a strong car s550 great platform good tire he's got his gopro on backwards you're gonna you're gonna have to switch that around when you race me oh listen this is actually a 3d camera you don't want to i need to i need to any questions about mamba since we last what's it just what any changes what's it make i guarantee not to almost kill you this time okay excited about that no credit though yeah yeah he's a good dr i trust him to say in your comments yeah the roll race is a faster car because now this is 930 wheel horsepower 930 wheel lower torque by 750 torque that's coyotes don't make much torque without smaller displacement but that's it man i got that it's solid i got something solid we've got bead locks we're not gonna hit the car anymore and uh we're excited so everyone everyone bugs me for this race and guys yeah we're gonna do and hulk too we're gonna do hulk uh and i think july there's a race coming up got some stuff coming to you with our broncos we have on order yeah we got brock we're both getting broncos we got some off-roading stuff planned it's gonna be fun yeah it's gonna be exciting so well i'm ready to hit the track all right let's go here we go staying mode versus street speed see my gopro is in fact on and we are ready i'm not sure what happened there stango might have had a problem i was going off to his uh i was looking over at his mile per hour going off of him and i i where are the keys and i said while they're in it and he grabbed it and then drove away so i i mean i assume it's over there in his garage i don't know you can follow his instagram for updates he stole the car now he did offer many times to store it i didn't take him up on it because i feel bad you know like it's it's my problem it's my car i don't want to take up a garage spot over there but when his car was running well unfortunately against my car uh he had a belt issue so we'll have to run that back iconic gt500 it's tough hate to say it you know i like to win in that car i like to win in any car slow or fast but i feel like i got to give the win to iconic this time he came back with a lot more power again my car had about the same a little bit more but pretty much the same and it was close last time and it was close again but i gotta give him the edge the zr1 you saw it with iconic you saw it with the 720. i just don't have the the power up top and my arrow just isn't good but adjust and add more power and come back for the event in july or it might be june um and we'll see i can race the same people again but the car ran well i have no complaints on the car my mid-range is really strong like my 60 to 130 time is very strong and you saw it against but against both cars if it's a pretty even start and i'm in second gear i'm actually i jump out ahead i think on both i was ahead for a little bit um and then you know they catch up so fair is fair they definitely won and there was a i did a lot of runs that day 15 runs i had no issues i raced supra raced a maggie 2650
