The Art of Cooking with Amanda Holden
As we sat down to cook with Amanda Holden, it was clear that she had a passion for food and a knack for making even the most mundane tasks seem enjoyable. She began by adding a handful of seeds to a bowl, followed by some chopped garlic and spring onions, before crushing them together into a small pile. "We're going to crush the garlic, crushing garlic into the spring onions," she explained, as she expertly squished the ingredients together.
As we chatted about Amanda's recent achievement - completing the London Marathon in an impressive 4 hours 13 minutes 22 seconds - it was clear that she was still basking in the glory of her success. "Congratulations on running the London Marathon!" she exclaimed, beaming with pride. "That's amazing! You did better than I did on my first marathon." When asked about her sponsorship deals, Amanda revealed that Simon and Pier had sponsored her, although she admitted to being a bit tight-fisted when it came to accepting gifts.
Amanda also opened up about her experiences on Britain Got Talent, where she auditioned but ultimately didn't make the cut. "Cheryl turned it down, so I got the gig," she explained matter-of-factly. When asked if she had ever performed for Simon Cowell, Amanda laughed and said no, but did acknowledge that he would have loved to see her run around the London Marathon course.
As we moved on to cooking, Amanda expertly demonstrated how to prepare pasta. "First of all, congratulations again on running the London Marathon," she said, as she filled a kettle with water for boiling. She then added a tablespoon of olive oil to a pan, which was already hot enough to cook the pasta. "Just keep it in the pan, not on top of the stove," she advised, as she expertly stirred the mixture.
However, things took a turn when Amanda revealed that her researchers had deliberately set up a "volcano" in one of her pots, causing her to laugh and exclaim, "That's what your researchers did that on purpose!" Despite this mishap, Amanda continued to cook with ease, adding salt and stirring the pasta until it was perfectly cooked.
Finally, as we finished cooking our meal, Amanda revealed how she would time our dish for us. "Now, let's put the timer on," she said, holding up a small device that displayed the countdown. "How will I know when to start?" she asked, and Amanda smiled and replied, "You'll see!" With her infectious enthusiasm and expertise in the kitchen, it was clear that cooking with Amanda Holden was an experience not to be missed.
