Google Home Mini vs Amazon Echo Dot ULITMATE Comparison!

**A Comparative Analysis of Amazon Echo Dot and Google Home Mini: A Smart Speaker Showdown**

As I sat in my bathroom, surrounded by the familiar hum of my home's appliances, I decided to put two smart speakers to the test: the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home Mini. With maximum volume at 250, I began with the Echo Dot, eager to see how it would perform in a high-volume setting.

The microphone performance on the Amazon Echo Dot was not impressive, picking up my voice only partially due to the maximum volume level. I attempted to lower the volume to 50% to see if that would improve things, but even then, the sound quality was somewhat lacking. However, it's worth noting that this is a common issue with many smart speakers, especially those with a small microphone array.

I decided to move on to the Google Home Mini, curious to compare its performance to the Echo Dot. With a simple command, I activated the device and was greeted by its bright display. I quickly noticed that the Bluetooth connectivity option was not available, which is a significant drawback for many users. Furthermore, there was no aux cable provided, making it difficult to connect the Google Home Mini to external audio sources like speakers or stereos.

Despite these limitations, I was impressed with the search functionality of both devices. With a simple voice command, I was able to access information on my schedule, weather, and even track packages. The Amazon Echo Dot's integration with Amazon Prime proved particularly useful, allowing me to receive discounts and promotions for eligible items. On the other hand, the Google Home Mini's compatibility with Google services like Google Calendar, Gmail, and YouTube made it an attractive option for those deeply invested in the Google ecosystem.

I decided to put both devices through a quick sound test, comparing their ability to produce clear, crisp sounds. The result was not surprising: the Google Home Mini outperformed the Echo Dot in terms of audio quality. Its larger speaker array and more advanced noise-cancellation technology made it a noticeable step up from its competitor.

As I continued my testing, I discovered that both devices had unique features that set them apart from one another. The Amazon Echo Dot's integration with Alexa smart home devices was particularly impressive, allowing me to control various aspects of my home automation system with ease. On the other hand, the Google Home Mini's compatibility with Chromecast-enabled TVs made it an attractive option for those looking to stream content seamlessly.

Ultimately, the choice between the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home Mini comes down to personal preference and ecosystem loyalty. Those deeply invested in the Google ecosystem may find the Google Home Mini's seamless integration with Google services to be a major draw. On the other hand, users who prefer the convenience of Alexa smart home devices and access to Amazon Prime deals may prefer the Echo Dot.

In conclusion, both the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home Mini offer unique strengths and weaknesses that set them apart from one another. While neither device is perfect, each has its own advantages and disadvantages that make it an attractive option for different users. As I looked at my two devices side by side, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for their complexity and the world they represent – a world where smart speakers can control everything from the lights to the TV.

**Additional Features of Each Device**

* **Alexa Integration:** The Amazon Echo Dot offers seamless integration with Alexa-enabled devices, allowing users to control various aspects of their home automation system with ease. Users can also access information on packages and track orders, making it a convenient option for those who shop frequently.

* **Google Home Mini Compatibility:** The Google Home Mini is compatible with many Google services, including Google Calendar, Gmail, YouTube, and more. This makes it an attractive option for those deeply invested in the Google ecosystem.

**A Word of Caution**

While both devices have their strengths, they also have some significant limitations. As I mentioned earlier, the Bluetooth connectivity option on the Google Home Mini is not available, which may be a major drawback for users who want to connect their device to external audio sources. Additionally, neither device has an aux cable provided, making it difficult to connect them to speakers or stereos.

**Conclusion**

In the end, the choice between the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Home Mini comes down to personal preference and ecosystem loyalty. Both devices have their unique strengths and weaknesses that set them apart from one another. As I looked at my two devices side by side, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for their complexity and the world they represent – a world where smart speakers can control everything from the lights to the TV.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso the Google whole mini versus the Amazon echo dot which one should do by now by the way this is the first generation Amazon echo dot but it's pretty much the same thing the Google whole mini recently just came out and I gotta say I fell in love with it I had it for like about a week now and I gotta say this thing is amazing now kickin the video off let's just talk about the design and the aesthetics of both of these devices the Amazon echo dot it's a very very nice hockey puck style not everybody's gonna like it but I am definitely a fan of it I like the little light circle that the Amazon echo dot has if you press the action button it lights up blue okay I wasn't talking to you and yes and yeah as you guys can see this is the action button so basically you press that and it's gonna activate the echo instead of you saying the command word I don't want to activate your devices and then if you have your microphone so if you need a little privacy you can just set that to mute or if you're watching a YouTube video in this case you can toggle on that mute button and I like how it's all red you're definitely not gonna miss it so I like that designed a little light circle that's definitely a nice feature now this is the first generation echo dot so I have the little turning wheel so I could turn up the volume by it turning to look the whole thing and you can turn it down the newer version of the Amazon echo dot has the actual buttons I like this one a lot better though it's just so much faster to turn down the volume in my opinion I don't know that's just me the bank we have a headphone jack that's very important and the microUSB for powering up the device and you have a little LED this just letting you know that is connected to power now the Google home on the other hand is a completely different design now you still have that circular shape take a look at the back if you guys missed a unboxing video you have a mute switch okay and then you have your power obviously there's light in the front and I'll let you know that it's powered on and that's it so no headphone jack thing you have to spend money on the chromecast a little chrome audio yeah so that's the way Google's doing it away from Amazon they have the headphone jack included so if you have a nice little setup then this is gonna be a deal-breaker for you might want to go with the Amazon echo now the design if I have to give it a point I'll give it the slight edge to go home mini I like the way this look better than the Amazon echo dot but then again that's all up to you you decide which one you like now let's talk about the apps now this D Alexa hat oh I forgot to set the mute now it looks very very simple nice little black nice little grey and it's kind of somewhat easy to read so you guys can see I have my if triggers so pink light orange light red lights you have your audible book okay everything is right here on the side you can make your list your smart home products your skills everything is right here on the fingertips right here man and really the skills is just basically like apps but instead you actually downloading the app you just enabling the skill for your Amazon echo device but I'm gonna be honest with you guys I barely barely even use the application for my Amazon echo now I have my Amazon for like about a year now and I gotta say I never used the application barely barely unless I'm setting something up if I have like a brand new smart home product then I launch the application and yeah and it set up like that but other than that I don't really use the app like that now the Google home on the other hand instead of it being all black like I said I rather have an app black because that night you know that but you know when it comes down to stuff like this I'm not gonna use the app so I'm just gonna be honest with you guys like there's no point now there's a feature that I really do love about the Google home and that is night mode I love this feature so much this is something that you won't find on the Amazon echo dot basically this is just gonna decrease the volume responses so you know if it's like three o'clock in the morning you don't want to wake up your neighbor all right if you live in in a house or an apartment somewhere you don't want the response to be so loud so what I do is you can set the maximum volume to like about half or maybe like a little bit lower than half and then you also can control the LED light now the LED light don't really bother me too much it's not as bright at 8:00 a.m. it can turn off you'll go back to his normal voice oh yeah this is nice so it's not gonna be as loud you have a guest mode so that on the Google home can actually recognize your voice or if you have your your mom your dad and yourself you can you can actually train the Google home to recognize your voice so if I say call mom it's gonna call that person's mom instead of you saying call such-and-such mom if both of these devices in Amazon and Google made a voice assistant together it would've been perfect now I hope you guys don't mind but I'm at my subscriber count on the side as I'm doing this video it's amazing now it took me long enough to get to 9,000 but it's all good though it's all about you making it it's not how long you made it as long as you make it so let's test out the commands Alexa what's the weather for today we're gonna put it on Maxwell's with cloudy skies tonight you can expect showers with a low of 50 degrees all right um Alexa what's my flash Google stop I like that so no skills no Spotify just get it right away I like that now the only thing that I feel like that's missing on the Google home is obviously Amazon you know Amazon is the the largest online stores on the Internet is pretty much the Internet Amazon YouTube in Google man that's the internet basically and that's one thing I like about my echo and that's one reason why I love it so much it's compatible with most smart homes and if you have Amazon Prime or if you're an Amazon Prime member let me say it correctly this thing is gonna be right for you so you can reorder toilet paper you can order anything right there using a voice and you know one thing that's thing about the Google home is it's gonna give you an answer ninety five percent of time it's gonna give you an answer the echo it's gonna give you the answer probably ninety percent or eighty five percent of time like I said both of these devices are spectacular man I love both of these devices I want to know how well can both of these devices understand my voice can it pick it up like how well how's the microphone performance now I have some music right here non copyrighted music of course and I had my JBL charge two plus i'm i said to like about fifty percent and then maybe i might go all the way up to a hundred and see how well can it really understand my voice so let's start off with the amazon echo alright so i'm gonna put this aside and we got played as music Alexa hi hello my way I'm using my Amazon echo let's go on to the same how you doing today thanks for asking I've been thinking about a friend LexA she's a self it's understanding me it's understanding Alexa Alexa stop okay okay okay it was understanding me for a second but once the beat got a little rough and it start to really struggle a little bit now I'm kind of pretty close to it so I'm gonna party step a little bit away from my Amazon echo Alexa play Alexa stop Alexa play Alexa Alexa Alexa pause Arnie guys so I'm literally in my bathroom right now I don't know if you guys can hear me but let's do it Alexa play i'ma say 250 let's stop all right so that's the microphone performance on the Amazon echo dot and I gotta say it performed okay pry even bad probably and but you know I understand because this is maximum volume and it's like literally right here but like I said and I lowered down a little bit cuz I feel like that wasn't fair but you know it did okay it's understandable why it's not gonna pick up your voice let's try to go home stop all right so like I said it's not the best let's try it at 50% hey Google volume 5 another thing too you can also say hey global maximum volume it'll do that now the echo can't do that alexxa maximum volume you can only set the volume to whole numbers between 0 and 10 pause all right let's do a quick little sound test on the Google home Mini I'm curious to know wait for the big drop this is this is embarrassing like it's no comparison there's no comparison at all alright so after fooling around with this thing so you cannot connect the Bluetooth and that's a deal-breaker that's a huge deal breaker for a lot of people and not to mention doesn't even have an aux cable so you can't hook this up to your stereo system this is gonna be a hard sell but I do like the search functionality and that alone makes to go home nice hey go go hey go home what time is it 6:11 okay cool okay cool what's my name I didn't get that try saying that one more time hey Koko what's my name since I couldn't verify your voice just now I can't tell you that are you doing today wonderful thing Alexa Alexa today right now it helps tit it's 62 degrees with cloudy skies tonight I said how you do it to us both of these devices are nice man it just depends on what kind of person you are what kind of ecosystem you in now a lot of people probably gonna go with the Google one because you know you have your Google phone maybe you have your Google email school calendars or just into the Google ecosystem you might have a chromecast which I don't have so you can pull up things on the TV YouTube videos Netflix shows so you know the list goes on and on with chromecast that's like a whole new level or whole new comparison I should say so yeah you might want to go with the Google home if you into the Google ecosystem really where the Amazon - Ines is just Amazon so if you're a big shopper if you have Amazon Prime then you're gonna love the Amazon echo dot and not to mention Amazon just recently I just looked this up if you buy a fire TV stick or just if you have a fire TV you can actually control your video so you could say launch Netflix so I'll play this show on Netflix or pull this up on YouTube so the same exact thing like the Google home but now you have it for the Amazon side but overall man I can't I can't really say a winner I love them both I love them both I like the fact how you can track your orders and order stuff and sometimes it might be a discount on that item just for using the Amazon echo to order it so if you're a big shopper you might want to go with the Amazon echo dot now if you want that smarter functionality like you can exit anything literally you just acts in Google to search the web and it's gonna give you the answer pretty much 100% of the time it's going to give you something that you want to go with the Oh Minnie so it's a tough decision I'm not sure do the ghoul home i audible read crush it inaudible sorry I can't help with that yet but I'm always learning all right so I don't thing to go home to read books can change the channel using this and yeah man it's a lot more Smart Home Products compatible to echo the choice is all up to you I did the best I can with this video drop a like on the video it helped me out tremendously and thank you guys so much for 9000 subscribers the legacy continues man I really do man and we one step away from 10,000 subscribers thank guys so much for watching and I
