Hello, I'm Vanessa from Crafty Gemini.com, and welcome to today's video on how to make another patchwork square using patience corners! As always, we're going to use two different fabrics, one that serves as your dark fabric and the other as the lightest one. Let's start with the materials that we need.
We'll be working with rectangles of these two fabrics, so take a look at them. You see that they do not have any triangles, but only rectangles and squares that are very easy to make. Now, let's get started! We will teach you how to make the patience numbersix corners of this patchwork square.
The first thing you're going to do is take two of these rectangles of your darkest fabric and place them as I am showing you here. Then, sew it together, making a longer strip by sewing heremake a longer strip by sewing heremake a longer strip by sewing heremake a longer strip by sewing heremake a longer strip by sewing heremake a longer strip by sewing heremake a longer strip by sewing heremake a longer strip by sewing. This will be the base of your patience corner.
Now, let's work on making the actual patience corner. Take one of these rectangles and place it inside the other rectangle. Make sure they are aligned properly and then sew them together again. Here we are going to do the same thing, but backwards And then we're going to sew each side together first and when you're done doing that here with the quarter of an inch seam here the same here quarter of an inch seam here the same here quarter of an inch seam here the same here.
So, we're going to put two sides together like this upside down one up and together like this upside down one up and together like this upside down one up and one for below. The only thing left is to sew the seam in the center. They will want to put a pin in that same point so that when they are going to sew it, it will fit perfectly.
Here I am going to show you, we have the seam here, one on the right and one on the left. And we want those four fabrics there to mark perfectly so, taking a pin we mark it so that it becomes easier for us. When we go to sew it, your block and there you have it, a very simple block to make with only two different fabrics.
I hope you liked my tutorial. And as always, remember to take photos of the blogs you have finished so you can share them with us on our Facebook page. I'll see you in two weeks when I come back with another tutorial showing you how to make block number seven.
