October TBR

October Book Haul: What's on My TBR List?

I'm so excited to share my October book haul with you all! As an avid reader, I've been waiting for what feels like forever to dive into some new series and books. With exams and midterms looming, I know it's going to be a busy month, but that doesn't stop me from getting lost in the world of words.

First on my list is The Castle of Toronto by Horus Walpool. I've heard great things about this Gothic novel, and I'm excited to finally get my hands on it. As part of my early Romanticism course, I need to read this book, so it's definitely going to be a priority. I've also got Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen lined up, which is another must-read for the same course. While I know it might not be the most typical Austen novel, I'm looking forward to getting lost in its Gothic elements.

Next on my list is Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I've been waiting for ages to read this series, and I finally got my hands on the first book last month - Assassin's Blade. I was so impressed with it that I couldn't wait to dive into the actual story. With its unique female assassin protagonist and epic fantasy world-building, I know I'm in for a treat.

I'm also hoping to squeeze in The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken before the end of the month. As a huge fan of dystopian novels, I've heard amazing things about this series, and I'm excited to dive into its unique blend of super natural abilities and post-apocalyptic world-building. It's definitely going to be a challenge with my exam schedule looming, but I'm determined to get through it.

In addition to these books, I've got my eye on The Iron Trial by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black. With Halloween just around the corner, I couldn't resist the temptation of this middle-grade series. While I love Cassandra Clare's Shadow Hunter world, I'm eager to see her take on a new project in a different genre. I know it'll be a quick read, but I want to make sure I get to it before the month is over.

Finally, I've got two Lia Bray books that are vying for my attention. The first one is Divers by Lia Bray, which promises to be a historical fiction novel with paranormal elements. With its 700+ pages, it's definitely going to be a challenge, but I'm intrigued by the premise and the author's unique style. Next up is Great and Terrible Beauty, another Lia Bray book that has captured my attention. As part of the Gemma Doyle Trilogy, I've heard amazing things about this novel, and I'm eager to dive into its Gothic world-building and historical fiction.

Last but not least, I've got Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld on my list. This novel promises to be two stories in one - a contemporary romance and a ghostly adventure. While it's a bit of a departure from the other books on my list, I'm intrigued by its unique premise and can't wait to see how Westerfeld weaves these two worlds together.

I hope you all enjoyed this video as much as I did! What are your reading plans for October? Do you have any creepy or paranormal recommendations that I just have to know about? Let me know in the comments below, and I'll catch you all in the next video.
