in this short amount of time we've already become an international player we were the fifth fastest smartphone brand to reach 200 miling treatments well known for our highend specs quality user experience and impressive designs most importantly what set us apart from other brands is that we focus 100% of our energy on young consumers we are truly International brand with some of our keing markets being South Asia southeast Asia China Europe the Middle East Latin America and Africa we are still growing and focusing on entering even more markets in the coming years with the goal of serving young users around the world congratulations for joining the 200 million Club I've been following along and I remember it took you 3 years to get to your first 100 million and then the second 100 you double that in just 2 years years so what has been the secret to your success that's right we've just crossed the 200 million smartphone shipments which is one of our biggest Milestones yet as far as a secret to Our Success is pretty simple really we focused on bringing a qualitative phone experience to Young users since the beginning our young users know that they always get a product that exceeds their expectations when they get a real me product with better technology and Designs compared to other phones at the same price point if there was a second secret I think it would be our team like our young users our team is also young and ambitious with an average age of less than 29 we don't shy away from challenges and we are passionate about bringing quality phone experiences to Young users around the world we are based on an asset light and sh Channel model this simplifies the process and decreases the number of steps to get our products into consumer hands my next question was supposed to be what's next but I know you're going to say 300 million so instead I'm going to rephrase it and ask you where do you see yourselves in the next 5 years over the next 5 years we have plans in place to keep our competitive age in fact we are aiming higher than ever before with our leave forward climbing plan we're setting an ambitious goal to become the first choice for young users around the world as for our product Focus we will continue to commit our no leap no launch product strategy so that every single product we release is a quality product with at least one Leap Forward feature that is the best in its class to achieve these ambitious goals we will invest in Tech Innovation Focus Ed on creating breakthroughs in performance photography and design the three areas our young users find most important since you joined in 2018 I know you've been instrumental in your expansion outside of China I know you're big in India Indonesia and the Philippines but what are your biggest markets outside of China and what are the challenges of building one smartphone for many different countries and cultures Ry is an international company we have already ented multiple markets worldwide we have reached the top five in 17 markets globally and we are preferred brand of consumers in many markets around the world next year we have plans to enter Latin America entering new markets is no easy task but when things are challenging we've always believed in taking actions as you may know the realy journey began with the Indian market after the major success we enjoined with our first launch we quickly expanded reaching 13 markets by 2019 including South Asia southeast Asia the Middle East China Europe and Africa every time we enter a new market our core team will stay in the market for at least one to two months and hire new local employees to assist with the press conference in one year our team flew to more than 40 markets averaging three to four markets per month our brand was built from these early challenges and we still lead from this same mentality today take the first step even if you are not ready you've always had in your DNA the focus on the younger generation why is this the market that you chose to immediately go after and how have young people Been instrumental in your success as a company before 2018 all phone designs are safe and boring they had basic performance without anything special or memorable and the designs are followed the same tempo so that's when we decided to take our first lead if nobody else is offering it why don't we have a try and so that was our very first goal to create a smartphone that had great performance great design and that remained affordable for young users that's why we start our brand and it's a foundation of who we are and what we care about we make the best products possible for young users and bring unique product experience unlike anything else in the industry starting a smartphone company I'm sure isn't easy but probably even harder in China with so much competition so how does real me set itself apart well first launched in 2018 we was 701 smartphone brand globally and in such a highly competitive market realy has been the only new brand to enter the top 10 in nearly 10 years the reason we managed to earn this sport is not because of any great Advantage but simply because we never hesitate to take the first step and face challenges head on while staying true to our young users and their needs all of the success we have achieved so far has been because of our commitment to Young consumers and providing them with the best product experiences possible at every price segment and our users have an indepth understanding of the latest tech Trend and are Keen to explore new industry Trend and experience cutting age Tech products in this respect realy is a perfect match for their needs our users have many ideas in life and firmly believe that if they keep exploring and dressed up as Goku uh for a a an unboxing video flashback hi I'm Michael Josh from planet Vegeta and this is the real me but why is uh this one of your strategies of course I remember seeing you as Goku that was one of the most impressive reviews I've ever seen thanks for that that was really awesome thank co-branding activities are important for real me to cooperate with famous Brands and IPS helps us expand our awareness and reach new consumers that share our passion for new tech experiences with single smartphone as more than just a device smartphones are a personal expression and that's why we aim to surprise users with exciting co-branding efforts pushing from design to places other brands haven't attended before but cooperating with with famous designers and partnering with brands that share our mission we keep our young users interested in our products and excited for our new releases back when I lived in um southeast Asia uh online shopping wasn't a thing and here in the US you know you can buy anything online uh so I I can imagine that it was a challenge for you because you chose to go the online route uh in terms of sales so why is that e-commerce was an emerging Trend at the time and became a mainstream approach very quickly most users on e-commerce platforms are younger users which fits perfectly with our brand I guess with online platforms you can also get immediate feedback from your consumers e-commerce platforms also provide rapid online exposure which allows us to quickly increase our awareness in new regions on e-commerce platforms users are also more willing to express their wills and some become opinion lead leaders it is very helpful for us to know what they like or dislike about our products and their honest opinions help us bringing better quality products I can share an example from when we entered the Indonesia Market one of the very first things we did was contact Lazada we brought our entire team to meetings including sales PR social and marketing and at the time no other team doing like this we prepared 15,000 products and sold out in just 10 seconds becoming the Lazada sales Champaign for that month in fact the top three smartphones on the sales list were all real me devices this was one month after we launched in Indonesia we continued our success in Malaysia the Philippines and Thailand becoming the sales Champion once again during lazada's double 11 Festival that's pretty incredible and uh I guess it just takes one company to actually take the leap uh on a platform that doesn't really uh hasn't really been tested before so kudos to you uh speaking of Kudos uh Gadget match actually gave real me an award this year for your fast charging Tech and for me I've always believed that technology needs to be
