How to Buy a Drift Car

**Project "Drip Sting"**

The main project that Chris has decided to undertake is named "Drip Sting". However, he is open to suggestions from his audience for alternative names. This project will involve a series of modifications and repairs to restore the Mustang to its former glory.

**Getting the Car Running**

Chris starts by checking the oil level in the car, which is found to be low. He decides to add oil before attempting to start the engine. Once the oil is topped up, Chris moves on to the next step, which is to get the car running. Unfortunately, the engine does not start yet, and Chris wants to know why.

**Checklist of Things to Do**

Before proceeding with the repairs, Chris creates a checklist of tasks that he needs to complete. The first item on the list is to come up with a project name for the series. He invites his audience to suggest alternative names for the project, which will be used throughout the series.

The next item on the list is to get the car running. However, Chris wants to make sure that everything is in order before attempting to start the engine. Once the car is started, he can proceed with other tasks such as getting the car insured and registered.

**Cleaning the Car**

Once the car is running, Chris decides to clean it properly. He believes that cleaning the car is an important part of preparing it for modifications and repairs.

**Driving Stick**

Chris has only driven automatic cars in the past and wants to learn how to drive a stick shift. He believes that learning to drive a manual transmission will be beneficial for his driving skills and will also allow him to participate in drifting.

**Baselining the Car**

Before making any modifications, Chris wants to get a baseline reading of the car's performance. This includes measuring its weight and calculating its horsepower output.

**Drifting**

Chris is interested in learning how to drift and has identified several drifters who are willing to teach him the art of drifting. He believes that this will be an exciting and challenging part of the project.

**Sponsors**

Chris wants to attract sponsors for his car and is open to suggestions from his audience on how he can do so.

**Bolt Ons**

Once Chris has completed the modifications and repairs, he plans to add bolt ons such as an intake and exhaust system. He believes that these additions will improve the performance of the car.

**Gutting the Interior**

Chris wants to gut the interior of the car and replace it with a new roll cage, racing seats, and a harness. He also wants to install a video camera system in the car.

**Brake Kit**

Chris has been asked by his audience about installing a big brake kit in the car. He believes that this will be an important addition for drifting.

**Supercharger**

Chris is considering adding a supercharger to the engine of the car. This would significantly increase the power output of the engine and make it suitable for drifting.

**Vinyl Wrap**

Chris wants to add some personality to the car by applying a vinyl wrap design. He believes that this will make the car stand out and be more attractive to potential buyers.

**Car Meet**

Finally, Chris has organized a car meet at the AutoZone parking lot in his neighborhood. The event will feature door prizes, product demonstrations, and appearances by local radio stations. Chris is excited to meet his fans and showcase his finished project car.

**Parts Shopping**

Before getting started with the project, Chris decides to head out to a parts store to pick up some essential components for the Mustang. He ends up buying more than he expected, which highlights the importance of shopping alone when working on a project.

**Starting Filming**

With all the parts in hand, Chris is ready to start filming his project and documenting his progress. He invites his audience to comment on his post and provide suggestions for future episodes.

introduction videoI asked you guys to vote on your top threedrift cars that you want to see me buildso you chose RX7 Mustang or BMW andthanks for being so involved becausethis poll had an epic turn outso since then I've been listening to youguys and I'm looking at my local autoshopper on craigslist and even in thenewspaper with no luck at alleverything around here is just way tooexpensive or when I went to go see thecar it had major problems like this BMWwith a head gasket leak and yes this wasa head gasket leak when checking thedipstickI saw coolant in the oil now a bunch ofyou guys commented great ideas andsuggestions like getting a salvage carsince it is a drift car and it doesn'thave to be perfect that way a salvagecar is way cheaperso I ran with that idea and I startedsearching online for salvage cars andthey were really cheap but since Iwasn't a dealerI couldn't get to the auctions so Iactually found a site that lets you bidon dealer auctions and then they go outand bid on those live auctions for youit's almost like Ebay for salvage carsand there are tons of really cool carson here for example we have thisMaserati spiderit only has 20,000 miles and had flooddamage and with only a few days awaythe current bid was five thousanddollars that would be a cool drift carnot only would that be a cool drift carbut that would be a cool car just to ownand then I started getting reallydistracted and i found a Mercedes-BenzG-Wagen I always liked these SUVs andthis one just had some minor dents andscratches and the current bid was at onethousand dollars and i'm telling you igot distracted start looking at Tesla'shave an electric drift car how coolwould that be I don't think anybody'sdoing that yetthis Tesla has 2,000 miles and it hasrear end damage but the rear end ondrift cars are usually messed up anywayI'm sensing future videos potentiallyand i'll leave a link in the descriptionto this website because you gotare gonna have a blast just looking atall the different cars on there I'm surechecking out all these salvage cars andthinking about how you could fix them upis going to get you goingbut anyway let's get back on track sothe car that - hub actually found for methey emailed me asking why I was on thesite and I said hey I'm looking for adrift carhere's what my subscribers said and theyfound me this car right here hundredtwenty thousand milesit's a manual transmission car gotplenty of torque and it's really cheapnot only that this car is in a salvagecar to charity car so it was donated sothe winning bid that money goes to aVeterans charity how awesome is thatbut I've never done anything like thisever I've never bought a car on ebay onthe internet anything I always see inperson but I had a good feeling aboutthisnot really sure if the car runs or notbut hey that's why fix things and hey wecould get it for a really good price andguess what i won the bid and that's howI got the drift car that you guys picknow this cars gonna get delivered to mein about a week or so and we'll see howI did for my first online car buyingexperienceI should also mention if you don'tfollow me on social media such asInstagram or Facebook make sure you findme on Instagram or Facebook because Igive a bunch of updates on herei asked you guys what car you thought itwas going to be lets the Miata (3x)yep I think you guys think it might be amiata but let's find outand then a week later here it isI need to get this car off this truckand in front of my houseit's getting rolled and that startedbecause apparently it doesn't runI was told it might just be a deadbattery so we'll see and this is themoment of truth this is the reveal rightherewhat's the ChrisFix drift car going to beyeahand this is the drift car in 1998mustang GT with a manual transmissionso before I go show you the car here'sthe title I got a 98 ford mustangit's a California car blurred out hisaddress but it's not a CaliforniaEmissions car which is awesomethis is the original owner so this was asingle owner car when he got the car hada hundred sixty six miles and now I ownthe car the car only has a hundredtwenty thousand mileshow cool is that and then we have thetitle straight from Californiathis is awesome now this is an auctioncar so the car comes with no warranty itas isthat's one of the biggest risks atbuying an auction you can see here wehave the vehicle bid price and auctionfees so I got the car for 1150 dollarsand then a 328 dollar auction fee for atotal price of less than fifteen hundreddollars we'll just call it 1,500 so$1,500 for this 98 mustanglet's go check it out and this is thefirst time I ever got a car online solet's see if it paid offso taking a look at the interior theinterior actually looks like it's areally good shapebesides being a little bit dirty I meaneverything looks really good and there'sa little tear right here which doesn'tmatter because we're gonna get racingseatsthe carpet and everything is exceptionalwow this thing is really cleanthat is surprising and then the backseats are really cleanprobably rip those out take a lookinsidegood old ford mustang interior from 1998not bad doesn't really matter because ifeel like i'm going to get the interiorthe manual 5-speed transmissionI wonder if it has the owner's manualgood we have an owner's manual that'shelpfulthe interior is a part on this sidewonder what we have in herenothing in here has pop the trunk checkout the trunk and this thing is deadbattery so that might not work actuallyI mean if we're not turning into a driftcar seems pretty good if we could get arunning got cassette CD air conditioningI don't know if the air conditioningworksthe steering wheel is a little bit yeahold but everything besides the driver'sseat and steering wheel looks reallynice the headliners nice back seats arenice and dashboards nicelet's go pop the hoodsee what's inside this babysheesh this car is also dirty check thisout there's a footprint as a couple offootprints on the hood of the car needsa good cleaning there you go there's avideo you guys want to know how to cleanyour car properly see where this latcheson the Mustang got to learn a new carover againall right now this motor is dirty butyou guys been asking for how to clean amotor is the perfect opportunitynice VA engine 4.6 liter tons of torquewhich is perfect for drifting get thoserear tires loosewe all know that Mustangs can get theirrear tires nice and loose you want to knowwhat the best thing about this car isbecause it's a California carthere is no rust like look at this on aJersey car in the Northeast any of thesecars up here are going to be completelyrusty and just from being here for a fewdaysthe brake rotor is all rusty but checkout these calipersno rust at all on the caliperseven if we look at the little screwsthat hold on the body panelsthese things always rust there's no ruston them the undercarriage looks perfectno rust no damage no frame damage gotthe dual exhaust and we know thatMustang sound great so this thing isgoing to get an exhaust system and justsound amazingjust got to get it started besidesgetting it started let's go over alittle checklist of things i want to doto this carso the first thing we want to do is Iwant you guys to give me a project namethis whole series has to have a projectnameI'm thinking project drip sting but ifyou can come up with something betterI'm definitely open to using it so letme know of a project name that's for youguys to figure out next thing get thecar runningunfortunately car doesn't run I don'twant to crank yet I check the oil andthe oil is low so I want to add oilbefore I mess around with any of thatthen once i get the car running got toget insured and registered then I'mgoing to show you guys how to clean acar properly let's get this thinglooking awesomeand then I need a practice driving stickI've only driven stick on one car beforeeverything I've ever driven has beenautomatic so it's time to get a lot ofexperience driving stick and become goodat thatthen I want to do stuff like get abaseline and I know so we can see howmuch horsepower it's going to make get abaseline wait so we can see how heavythe cars and see how we could reducethat weightI want to learn how to drift I know acouple of really awesome drifters thatChris Forsberg who might be open to theidea of teaching me how to driftwe'll see about that that could be areally cool episode then I want to seemaybe get some sponsors I don't knowwhat you guys think I try to get somesponsors for this carafter that we'll do some bolt ons likean intake maybe an exhaustI want to gut the interior I want to geta roll cage racing seats and a harness avideo on a big brake kit is somethingyou guys been asking for that this mightbe a good opportunityhydraulic ebrake super important fordriftingshould we start with charger superchargeit that is a big step into adding powermight be something good for this carshould we vinyl wrap the car to somecrazy vinyl wrap something that lookscooldo I want to add some bolt ons like camsalso ideas from you guysI want to hear ideas from you guysthat's the whole point of this build toget you involved as much as possiblewhat do you want to see and just let memake this clear because I know noteverybody likes drifting and I get itbut the great thing about this projectit's just a bunch of fixes andcustomization adding a supercharger fora drift car or for a regular car or fora race carit's all the same same thing with a rollcage same thing with racing seatssame thing with pretty much all thesemods so even if you're not into driftingguess what these episodes are going tobe a lot of fun and informativeanyway I just whole building that's socoolbut you know what time it is time to goget car partsall right my hands are full of parts toget the Mustang running in the nextepisodeI'm the type of person that's one tripor no trip and there we goand this is exactly why you don't go toa parts store alone because then you endup buying way too much stuffso there we go start of the driftproject I need you guys to comment someideas project name for example let meknow what a good name is plus we arehaving a car meet in this very parking lotthis is going to be a lot of fun tons ofprizes just a good time music
