DDR4 3200: A Game-Changer for Gamers on a Budget

The AMD Ryzen 5 3600 is a CPU that has generated a lot of buzz among gamers and enthusiasts alike. With its impressive specs, including four cores, three threads, and a clock speed of 3.7 GHz turbo, it's no wonder why many are eager to get their hands on this processor. But what sets the Ryzen 5 3600 apart from other CPUs in its class? In this article, we'll take a closer look at the Ryzen 5 3600 and explore its features, performance, and value for money.

The Value Proposition of DDR4 3200

One of the most significant advantages of the Ryzen 5 3600 is its price point. At $99, it's an extremely affordable option for gamers who want a high-performance CPU without breaking the bank. In comparison, a similar Intel Core i5 processor would cost significantly more, making the Ryzen 5 3600 an attractive option for those on a tight budget. Additionally, the Ryzen 5 3600 supports DDR4-3200 memory, which is a relatively high speed compared to other CPUs in its class.

AP Use and Performance

The Ryzen 5 3600 has been put through its paces in various games and applications, including Overwatch, Warframe, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and more. The results are impressive, with the CPU consistently delivering smooth performance and frame rates. In fact, during a recent playthrough of Overwatch, we saw an average framerate of 67 frames per second, with only a 1% low at one point.

The integrated graphics chip, which is roughly equivalent to the Nvidia GT 1030 and AMD Radeon RX 550, has proven itself to be capable of handling modern games at high settings. However, it's essential to note that this CPU does not have dedicated graphics processing units (GPUs), so gamers may experience some lag spikes or frame rate drops in certain situations.

A Closer Look at the Specifications

The Ryzen 5 3600 has a clock speed of 3.7 GHz turbo, which is significantly faster than the base clock speed of 3.5 GHz. This increased speed gives the CPU a slight performance boost compared to other processors in its class. The CPU also features four cores and three threads, making it well-suited for multi-threaded applications like video editing and streaming.

A Look at Overclocking

One question on many gamers' minds is whether the Ryzen 5 3600 can be overclocked to even greater heights. In our testing, we found that the CPU's stock settings were sufficient to deliver excellent performance, with no need for additional overclocking or boost modes. The only exception was XMP support for DDR4-3200 memory, which helped unlock higher speeds.

Cooling and Temperatures

The Ryzen 5 3600 comes equipped with a RADEON SEVEN 95W cooler, which is designed to keep the CPU at safe temperatures during extended usage. During our testing, we found that the temperatures did not appear to be a problem, even during intense gaming sessions.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 has proven itself to be an excellent choice for gamers on a budget. With its impressive specs, affordable price point, and strong performance, it's an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their gaming PC without breaking the bank. While it does have some minor flaws and limitations, the Ryzen 5 3600 is a compelling value that is sure to appeal to gamers and enthusiasts alike.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello and welcome to tech deals this is the first ever will it play with the new Raven Ridge AMD's risin 320 200 G with the Vega 8 integrated graphics today we are testing overwatch 1080p high detail preset these new ap use from AMD are amazing this is a $99 for Core 4 thread CPU up to 3.7 gigahertz and it includes actual decent integrated graphics you do not need an add-in graphics card in many cases don't worry a full review of both Rison 3 and Rison 5 of these new ap use will be coming up soon but I just got these on launch day I ordered them from Amazon spent a few hours playing with them and testing them recorded a couple of benchmarks and I'm doing the first voice over so I want to spend some time with these CPUs for a few days I want to play a bunch of games run a bunch of performance tests get a feel for them before I actually film the main official review so that I can actually discuss it in detail rather than just spending three or four hours with it which would not be fair to you or to the CPU a couple of points up front first of all there's gonna be a stutter here in just about a second that is not the CPUs fault this is my Elgato 4k 60 pro capture card that is still not running properly unfortunately I've now had three different elgato capture cards and never been 100% happy with any of them so forgive that error but there is a couple of places in here where the stutter is real in the game and I'm gonna call that out where it happens I'm recording this voice over just an hour after actually playing this benchmark so I remember what happened in any case um the performance is really really good about 98% of the time this feels very much like a GT 1030 or a rx 550 graphics card in terms of performance and that's about where it lies for all the comments and reviews you can see for everything you're going to watch on this set of CPUs the reality is it's like having a rise in three 1200 or arisin 514 hundred and then having a GT 1030 installed is really what it is if you follow me on Twitter you will have seen my posts about having to do the setup and play around with different settings I ended up actually setting up a whole testbed put a brand new motherboard on updated the BIOS and did a fresh install of Windows 10 for this I was having a couple of stuttering problems in game and both that's it right there that's in the game and you saw the frame drop in the upper left-hand corner whenever you warp to a new location the frames just fall off a cliff it also happens in world of warships from time to time depending upon what's going on so yeah it is not the minimums are not as good as the dedicated graphics is and I do have very fast RAM in here it's worth noting this is ddr4 3200 which I think a lot of people won't run don't worry I will do a video at some point ddr4 2400 vs. 3200 doesn't matter for ap use yes and no depending upon what you're doing but for now we're doing 3200 to give this CPU the best possible chance of looking good when you take the whole package into account for the few hours that I've played with it my first thought is this isn't perfect and it has a few minor flaws that we'll talk about more in the review however the value for the money here is unparalleled if you're on a tight budget if you're looking at the current graphics card market in a february of 2018 going what am I supposed to buy this is really compelling this is absolutely playable it's not perfect there's a couple of points where the game gets kind of laggy and drops frames but not many would I play overwatch on this yes absolutely I would have no problem playing overwatch on this would I play the world of warships where I play Counter Strike global Offensive yes you just have to realize that it is in fact not a dedicated graphics card and so it's got a couple of limitations and a couple of lag points in it that the dedicated graphics card doesn't have but it's $99 for a four core for thread three point seven gigahertz CPU in fact this is not overclocked the base speed here is three point five the turbo speed is three point seven take a look at the real-time clock speed we're running at nearly three point seven which is the top turbo because we're really only using two cores we're having no problems whatsoever holding that top turbo I I do not have any overclocking settings on there's no boost there's no enhanced multi-core performance the the overclock settings in the BIOS are absolutely stock everything is just set to auto the only thing turned on is XMP for the ddr4 thirty-two hundred megahertz support other than that everything is bone stuff the graphics cards not overclocked etc so the value here is that basically you're paying the same price as you would have paid last week for a rise in three twelve hundred you're getting faster clock speed out of the box three point seven versus the three point four that it would have run act you're getting a reasonably good basic integrated graphics chip that's roughly equivalent to the 80 to 100 hour graphics cards currently on the market the GT 10:30 and the rx 550 and includes cooler the raid stealth cooler that comes with this is perhaps not perfect but it certainly does the job and the temperatures do not appear to be a problem in the limited look that I've done so far and victory we won well this is fairly short but we want to put the whole playthrough in here gee I wonder who got play of the game I am having so much fun with this recently the addition of the Rockets yeah the addition of the Rockets has really changed diva if you play diva in the past and didn't like her give her another try the Rockets have now made a big big difference in any case there will be many many more of these to come along with a full review of both the Rison 3 and Rison 5 AP use very soon and here is the chart 67 frames per second average 51 one percent low 16.1% low yes there was a lag spike in there that caused that point one percent low it's annoying but and that was the warp back to the base after I died so it's not in combat in fact I played several matches of overwatch both on this and on my baby 350 platform and the lag spikes happen in the same basic places warping back that does not happen on dedicated graphics yeah it's not a big deal in my opinion this is amazing performance a $99 CPU with no graphics card just did fifty-one frames per second on a 1% low in live gameplay overwatch high detail 1080p that's incredible if this were the Intel I GPU this would be completely unplayable in all respects of these settings so AMD is to be commended for doing an amazing job with this full review coming soon like this video if you liked it share it with your friends if you left
