bookshelf tour _ 2021

**My Bookshelf Tour**

As I stand here, gazing at my bookshelf, I'm reminded of all the favorite childhood books that line its shelves. It's a collection of treasures that hold sentimental value and bring back fond memories of my youth. The shelf is a bit cluttered, with various knick-knacks and mementos scattered about, but it's a testament to the joy that reading has brought into my life.

On one side of the shelf, I have a small teddy bear that was given to me by one of my best friends for my birthday years ago. It's a simple yet endearing keepsake that serves as a reminder of our friendship and the happy times we shared together. Next to it is an Alphonse Funko Pop from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, a testament to my love for the anime series. The little cats in his design are especially adorable, much like the characters in the show.

On the other side of the shelf, I have a collection of favorite childhood books that bring back memories of lazy afternoons spent reading and daydreaming. The first book on display is the Field Guide from Spiderwick, which was one of my all-time favorite series when I was growing up. I remember being obsessed with the magical creatures and the world they inhabited, and I would spend hours pouring over the pages, imagining myself as a part of that fantastical realm.

As I continue down the shelf, I come across Meet Samantha, an American Girl Doll book that holds a special place in my heart. It was one of the first books I ever read about a strong, independent female character, and it inspired me to be more confident and ambitious. The book is now dog-eared and worn, but its message remains just as relevant today.

Next to Meet Samantha lies a childhood copy of The Things You Can Think by Dr. Seuss. This book was one of the first I ever read aloud to my parents, and it sparked a love for reading that has continued to grow throughout my life. Its playful rhymes and whimsical illustrations have made it a treasured favorite.

I also have a book called "You," which is filled with motivational and inspirational quotes from my grandmother. It was given to me on one of my birthdays when I was just 10 years old, and its words have stayed with me ever since. The book's simple yet profound message about the power of positive thinking has been a constant source of comfort and guidance.

Moving along, I come across the Spiderwick Week Guide to the Karen Feeding of Sprites, which was another one of my beloved books as a child. I remember being fascinated by the idea of sprites and their magical world, and I would spend hours imagining what it would be like to live among them. Although I never found any actual sprites in real life (they were just butterflies, I learned later!), the book's imaginative world has stayed with me all these years.

One of my most treasured books is Arthur Spyderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You, another Spiderweight classic that captured my imagination when I was a child. The book contains records of all the magical creatures in this world and is filled with intricate illustrations and descriptions. It was one of those books that made me feel like I had discovered a secret world that only a select few knew about.

As I near the end of the shelf, I come across a beautifully illustrated pop-up edition of The Little Prince. This book has held a special place in my heart since childhood, when I first read it and was enchanted by its poignant tale of friendship and love. Even now, as an adult, I find myself drawn to its simple yet profound message.

Next to The Little Prince lies a stunning edition of Hamlet, which is one of the most complex and thought-provoking works of literature that I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Its themes of ambition, morality, and mortality continue to resonate with me to this day.

Finally, on either side of the shelf, I have two copies of Madeline and Madeline in London, which are some of my favorite children's books from my childhood. Their colorful illustrations and engaging stories have brought joy and laughter into my life for years, and they remain two of my most treasured possessions.

**Organizing My Books**

As I've curated this collection of favorite books, I must admit that it's been a labor of love. Over the years, I've experimented with different ways to organize my shelves, trying out various methods until I landed on the one that works best for me – organizing by genre. It makes sense to group similar books together, don't you think? From science fiction and fantasy to romance and children's literature, each section provides a clear theme that ties the books together.

But what about others who might not have the same organizational style as I do? How do you organize your books? Do you like to categorize them by author or color? Perhaps you prefer to leave them in a random, unstructured arrangement – whatever works for you is perfectly fine. The most important thing is that you take care of your books and enjoy reading them.

And so, my bookshelf tour comes to an end. These treasured volumes have brought me countless hours of joy, comfort, and inspiration over the years. As I look at this collection now, I'm reminded of the power of reading to shape our lives and broaden our horizons. Whether you're a seasoned reader or just starting out, I hope that these books – and the stories they hold – will inspire you to pick up a book and explore the world of words.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi the time has finally come you've all been waiting for this video for three years and i  finally filmed it and it's finally here so you can finally enjoy my 2021 bookshelf touryou've all been begging me for this video for years at this point and i'm sorry it took me such  a long time but i was working very hard to make sure that my bookshelves were the bookshelves that  i want them to be and looked the way i want them to look because i'm very particular about that  and i feel like i've finally gotten them to a place that i'm very satisfied with i'm going to  keep this intro super brief because i know this video is already going to be incredibly long so  i'm just going to quickly answer some frequently asked questions that i have about my bookshelves  and my books so first things first my bookshelves are the ikea billy bookshelves in white and  the lights that i have hanging up on them are christmas lights that i got from target that i  just hang up using scotch tape i organize all of my books by genre for the most part um i kind of  have all of my series like on one side together and then the standalones and like contemporaries  and stuff are on the other side of my bookshelf and they're typically just separated by genre  there are a couple shelves here and there that are a bit more mismatched but for the most part  it's all just categorized by genre if you're wondering how i have this many books i've been  collecting books since i was like 14 and then i seriously got into booktube and stuff when  i was 18 so since then i've accumulated a lot of books no i did not buy all of these myself  many of them were very kindly sent to me um i constantly get books sent to me because  i do this for a living so that's why i have so many and if you're wondering how many books i  have if i counted correctly i have 491 books but without any further ado let's get into my 2021  bookshelf tour all right so starting with my very first bookshelf we have one of my classic shelves  i have i think three different classic shelves but this one has most of my special editions and stuff  like the really pretty editions of books so first up i have some penguin drop cap editions i love  these editions i think they're so pretty and first i have moby dick by her in melville siddhartha by  herman hesse and the shadow of the wind by carlos friezaphong next i have some penguin classics  deluxe editions and first i have jane eyre by charlotte bronte the wizard of oz by frank baum  and emma by jane austen then i have a couple more jane austen books i'm not sure what these editions  are but i have northanger abbey and persuasion next i have these i think these are white's fine  editions i'm not exactly sure but the first one i have is withering heights by emily bronte and  then another copy of jane eyre by charlotte bronte next i have this cute little decorative hedgehog  that just sits on my shelf that one of my friends got me years ago and then next i have these puffin  in bloom editions of heidi by joanna spirey a little princess by francis hodgson burnett  little women by louisa may alcott and then anne of green gables by ellen montgomery next i have a  copy of war and peace by leo tolstoy i capture the castle by dodie smith rebecca by daphne du maurier  then i have these i believe they're called penguin classics editions of f scott fitzgerald's tender  as the knight and the great gatsby murder on the orient express by agatha christie and then lastly  tess of the dupervilles by thomas hardy alright so moving down to this next shelf this is one of my  favorite fantasy shelves for the most part i've read everything on this shelf um there are just  a few books that i haven't read but this is also mostly my leigh bardugo shelf like sixty percent  of this it's just levarduco's books the first series that i have on this shelf is the witchlands  series by susan dennard which is truthwitch windwitch sight witch and blood witch next i  have the raven cycle by maggie stiefvater with the raven boys the dream thieves blue lily lily blue  and the raven king then finally we get into all of my leigh bardugo books and starting off i have the  language of thorns and then i have the collector's editions of six of crows and crooked kingdom and  then hiding behind those two i have the original covers for six of crows in crooked kingdom and  then after that i have the grisha trilogy shadow and bone siege and storm and bruin and rising and  then king of scars this empty space here next to king of scars is for rule of wolves my copy just  hasn't arrived yet so that's why there's an empty space there and then lastly on this shelf i have  ninth house and next we move on to the first of my now three shadowhunters shelves starting off  i'm just going to show you the little knickknacks and things i have on the shelf first up i have  this morgenstern ring that i've had since i was in like the seventh grade when i first read the  books i bought this because i wanted to be clary and it doesn't even fit any of my fingers so i  can't wear it next i have this little rune pin that i think is the strength rune but i genuinely  don't remember i got this at bookcon like several years ago and then similarly to the morgenstern  ring i have this blackthorne ring i have isabelle lightwood's red ruby pendant and then i have these  little character postcards that are like postcards written from characters to other characters that  i got from the city of fallen angels tour back in like 2011 10 whenever that book came out i don't  remember that was the first book signing i ever went to and they were giving out these cards and  i still have them because they're a nice memory from that time so i just keep them on this shelf  because obviously it goes with the shadowhunter things and then along those same lines i have  these other character postcards these are actually blank though they're not written from characters  to other characters you can fill them in yourself i think these are from the lord of shadows release  or something but i'm not exactly positive but yeah they just have the different characters from the  dark artifices on them and then lastly i just have this shadowhunter themed box of matches that has a  quote from cassandra clare on it that says temper us in fire and we grow stronger when we suffer we  survive so first up i have the 10th anniversary edition of city of bones then i have the original  three books in the mortal instruments series city of bones city of ashes and city of glass followed  by a city of fallen angels city of lost souls and city of heavenly fire and then behind those i have  my three original copies of the mortal instruments series in paperback these were the ones that i had  in middle school that i would reread over and over again and lend out to people and they just have a  lot of sentimental value to me so i keep them also the first one i think i've mentioned this before  is signed to me in like a special way you can legitimately see how old this is and how messed  up it is i let like everyone borrow it it's signed for hannah team hannah plus chase heart cassandra  claire and 13 year old me or 12 year old me however old i was when i went to this signing  um died over that because i thought it meant that she shipped me with jace i don't even like jace  that much anymore as a character now um but child me this meant everything to her and the next step  we have the dark artifices series lady midnight lord of shadows and queen of air and darkness  then next i have the vein chronicles then the eldest curses series the red squirrels of magic  and the lost book of the white and then lastly i have the two short story bind-ups so tales from  the shadowhunter academy and ghosts of the shadow market and moving on down to the next shelf here  we have another one of my favorite series shelves this is a mix of like a couple series i haven't  read but for the most part i've read everything on this shelf first up on this shelf i have an  absolutely remarkable thing by hank green this empty space right next to it is for a beautifully  foolish endeavor the second book in that series i just haven't gotten my copy yet then i have the  mistborn trilogy by brandon sanderson the final empire the well of ascension and the hero of ages  next up i have the three dark crowns series by kendare blake three dark crowns one dark throne  and two dark rains then i have a bind up edition of the his dark materials trilogy by philip  pullman northern lights the subtle knife and the amber spyglass next to that i have the lord of  the rings series and the hobbit as well as arwen's evanstar necklace and a little lord of the rings  pin as well next up i have the two books in the children of blood and bone series by tomi adeyemi  children of blood and bone and children of virtue and vengeance and lastly on this shelf i have the  diviners series by libba bray the diviners layer of dreams before the devil breaks you  and the king of crows okay and moving down from there we move on to my very first arc shelf  if you don't know what an arc is an arc stands for advanced reader copy which is essentially just an  advanced copy of a book that they typically send to reviewers and different people who are in  the book world to create like early promotion and buzz for a book i know a lot of people know  what arcs are but i still always get questions about what they are so i just wanted to clarify  so if you hear me talking about arcs that's what i'm talking about but yes this is the first of my  arc shelves and i have them organized for the most part by publication months last year also these  aren't all of my arcs i do have some other ones that are just scattered throughout my bookshelf  partly because they won't all fit on these two shelves and also because there are some books  where i'm like missing a book or something like that in the series so i'll just like leave the  advanced copy if i don't have the finished copy there so yeah just wanted to clarify if  you see some more throughout my shelves that's why starting off i have the sun is also a star  by nicola yoon caraval by stephanie garber strange the dreamer and muse of nightmares by laini taylor  the inexplicable logic of my life by benjamin alirezans wonder woman warbringer by leigh bardugo  all the crooked saints by maggie stiefvater dear martin by nick stone which would by tahereh mafi  dry by neil and jared shusterman zenith by sasha alsberg and lindsey cummings tyler johnson was  here by j coles the astonishing color of after by emily xr pan fury born by claire legrand love and  other carnivorous plants by florence gonzalez city of ghosts by victoria schwab the dark descent of  elizabeth frankenstein by kiersten white sadie by courtney summers pride by evie zavoy a very large  expanse of sea by tahereh mafi the devil's thief by lisa maxwell girls of paper and fire by natasha  nyan blanca and roja by anna marie mclemore bridge of clay by marcus zuzak once upon a river by diane  setterfield and lastly the cold in her bones by peter nell van arsdale and of course moving on  to the second arc shelf so starting off on this one i have these funko pops of zuko and katara  because as you all know avatar the last airbender is my favorite thing on earth so they sit here  because i love them they just make me happy they remind me of my favorite show i like having them  on my bookshelf starting with the books on this shelf we have frankly in love the last voyage  of pope life by ali conde sorcery of thorns by margaret rodgerson ghosts of the shadow market  by cassandra clare sarah reece brennan maureen johnson kelly link and robin wasserman that's  so many people the truth about keeping secrets by savannah brown wilder girls by rory power the  tenth girl by sarah faring permanent record by mary h k choi serpent and dove by shelby morin  there will come a darkness by katie rose poole the beautiful by renee ahdieh beyond the black  door by am strickland the toll by neil shusterman blood air by amelie wenzhau 9th house by leigh  bardugo the starless sea by erin morgenstern dark and deepest red by anna marie mclemore the glass  hotel by emily st john mandel legend born by tracy dion black kids by christina hammond's  read the invisible life of addy larue by v.e schwab the cost of knowing by brittany morris  the infinity courts by a kemi don bowman and lastly take me home tonight by morgan matson  all right so moving on to my second bookshelf this is my smaller bookshelf and this mostly has  um like more decorative shelves i kind of like just keep a few books on these shelves for the  most part and i try to make them more like decorative and stylized and stuff because i  think it looks pretty but the very top shelf is my second classic shelf this one has like really nice  editions of um some of the same books that i have on the other shelf but also some different ones  on top of this shelf i have this little crown then i have these beautiful vintage classic editions of  some of jane austen's books so first i have pride and prejudice mansfield park emma and sense and  sensibility below those i have this beautiful copy of anna karinina and then i have a few of  those really pretty like old leather bound they look like they'd be in some like vintage library  um type of books and first i have a copy of a tale of two cities withering heights and the  great cases of sherlock holmes and moving down we move on to my night circus shelf i've had this  shelf for so long i really don't think i'm gonna get rid of it anytime soon even if one day the  night circus isn't my favorite book anymore like i just don't feel like i could get rid of this shelf  it's just a permanent part of my bookshelf now but yes if you didn't know the night circus is  most likely my favorite book of all time i love it so much it's just a story that makes me happy  it's a story that reminds me why i love to read so much so i have five copies first up the things  i have on this shelf i don't think anything's really changed but i have this little mini hat  with uh these flowers i dressed up as celia bowen from the night circus for halloween one year  and i used this as part of the costume so now it just sits on the shelf i have this  night circus themed charm bracelet that one of my friends got me that i keep on here as well  a night circus themed candle and then there in the back i have this really beautiful artwork of  the book that one of my friends also got me but here are my five different copies of the night  circus so first up we have the us hardcover next is this uk special edition paperback i think it's  called the halloween edition i'm not positive but it does also have red sprayed pages it's probably  my favorite edition that i own i love it so much yeah it's um an old special edition if you want to  look for it i think it's called the halloween edition next i have the us paperback another  version of a uk paperback i really like this one too and lastly the uk first edition hardcover i  don't know if this is first edition or not and the black sprayed pages so yeah um this one's also out  of print these two are definitely out of print i'm not sure about the other ones i think the us ones  are fine don't know about that one but these two are a bit harder to find shockingly i do not have  every edition there are more editions of the night circus but i'm good with the five i have and then  we move on to my second shadowhunters shelf so this is my infernal devices shelf specifically  as you all know this is like my favorite series of all time and it deserves its own shelf because  that's how much i love it also as you could see from the shadowhunter shelf i am completely out  of room and i'm already out of room on this shelf and the last hour series was originally on this  shelf as well but i've had to move them over i'm gonna have to find a space for them we're  gonna have to expand the shadowhunter shelves eventually but that's a problem for another day  this for now is just the infernal devices shelf so let me show you the little things i have  on here first so similar to the dark artifices character card things that i had i also have these  for the last hours on this shelf they're just little photos about the different characters  and um they have some information on the back as well about the characters like their name  age and like their hobbies and stuff like that then i have this like little clockwork  key that's i think like a brooch or something like that not sure where i got this but i keep  it on here obviously because the aesthetic works and then i have another one of those rune pins  and this is an angelic rune pin and then like my other two rings i have a hair and dale ring  and then last but certainly not least i have a clockwork angel necklace starting off as you  saw in the center i have the 10th anniversary edition of clockwork angel and then of course  the entire infernal devices series so the original cover for clockwork angel clockwork prince and of  course clockwork princess and then lastly on this shelf i have a copy of the shadowhunters codex  all right and then we move on to my graphic novel shelf i really like this shelf i've read almost  every single thing on this shelf i think there are only two of them that i haven't read i just  love graphic novels i really want to get more into graphic novels in manga as well so this  might expand in the future but for now i have this collection i also have this winry funko pop  sitting here from fullmetal alchemist brotherhood because that is my favorite anime and i love her  so yeah she just sits here with my other graphic novels first up i have my favorite comic series  which are the saga comics volume one two three four five six seven and eight i think there are  currently nine volumes out maybe ten but at least nine i haven't read the most recent volumes i've  only read up through eight next i have everyone's an alien when you're an alien two by johnny sun  honestly one of my favorite books the prince and the dressmaker by jen wang persepolis volume 1 and  2 by marjani satrapi the gigantic beard that was evil by stephen collins vincent by barbara stoke  anya's ghost by vera boerskal are you listening by tilly walden check please by ngozi ukazu  stargazing by jen wang a monster calls by patrick ness hey kiddo by jared j korska and then i have  some of the avatar the last airbender comics so i have the promise part one two and three  as well as smoke and shadow part one and two and then i have monstrous by marjorie liu which is  one of the only ones i haven't read and seconds by brian lee o'malley which is the only other one i  haven't read okay and then moving down from there i just have a decorative shelf this probably will  not stay decorative for long because i always end up getting more books and then running out of room  and i'm already running out of room so for now i just have this basket sitting here my instax  and some propagated leaves from my philodendron and then lastly on this bottom shelf i have my  advanced copies of the last hour series so chain of gold and chain of iron by cassandra clare i  just did not have room on my arc shelf for these so i decided to put them elsewhere and i couldn't  fit them on the other shadowhunter shelves so they just have their own shelf plus they have like  sentimental value to me they're special to me i have good memories attached to them  and i have this little teacup on top here as well that i got for the tea party event that i hosted  with cassandra clare for the launch of chain of iron and it's just really special to me it's like  personalized with like a quote from the book in it and yeah i really love it so i just keep it  on here but you all have seen them before i've talked about them a million times i have two  super long videos dedicated to each of these books and um yeah so obviously we have chain  of gold and chain of iron and moving right along we have my next bookshelf so this top shelf here  is a favorite series shelf pretty much um there's only one series i haven't read on this shelf but  i've read everything else first up i have the to all the boys i've loved before series by jenny han  to all the boys i've loved before p.s i still love you and always and forever lara jean next  up i have the percy jackson series by rick riordan the lightning thief the sea of monsters the titans  curse the battle of the labyrinth and the last olympian i'm so overdue for a reread for these  it's been so long i literally haven't read these since i was like 12 and i desperately need to  because i miss the world of percy jackson and then next i have the heroes of olympus series also by  rick riordan the lost hero the son of neptune the mark of athena the house of hades and the blood of  olympus this is the one series on this shelf that i haven't read but i'm gonna reread percy jackson  and then i will read these immediately afterwards because honestly i have no idea what this series  is about next i have the truly devious series by maureen johnson truly devious the vanishing stare  and the hand on the wall the scythe trilogy by neil shusterman scythe thunderhead and  the toll and lastly the hunger games trilogy by suzanne collins the hunger games catching  fire and mockingjay and on to the next shelf this is another one of my favorite series shows this  is also probably one of my favorite shelves on my bookshelf as well just because i think it's really  pretty and it has a lot of my all-time favorite books also if you haven't noticed by now it is  exclusively my stuff to hear and victoria schwab shelf since they're two of my favorite fantasy  authors first up i have the number in the ashes series a lot of people ask me what editions these  are these are the uk paperbacks and then obviously sky beyond the storm is a hardback but of course  i have an ember in the ashes a torch against the night a reaper at the gates and a sky beyond the  storm which i need to get in paperback once it comes out in paperback so that they all match  next i have this uk hardback of an umber in the ashes and then hiding behind that i have  three us hardcovers of this book i know i have so many copies of a number in the ashes but these  three are the original us hardcovers for ember in the ashes torch against the night and reaper at  the gates and then we move on to the victoria schwab section of my shelf so first up i have  the villains series so vicious and vengeful and then i have the collector's edition of a darker  shade of magic then the entire shades of magic series so a darker shade of magic a gathering  of shadows and a conjuring of light below that i have a copy of city of ghosts the archived  the invisible life of addie larue the dark vault which is a bind-up of the archived and the unbound  which is the second book in the archived series and then lastly this savage song series the  savage song and our dark duet okay and moving down from that favorite series shelf we have  my fourth what i don't even know what favorite series shelf this is probably my fourth favorite  series shelf i have a lot of favorite series can you tell so starting off here i have my copies  of chain of gold and chain of iron by cassandra clare i did not have anywhere else to put these  i am honestly going to have to make them their own shelf at some point one thing i will say i  deeply regret not buying the special editions like the waterstone editions for these books because i  really want them and now people sell them for like 300 and i'm not going to pay that much money for  a book so when chain of thorns comes out i will try to buy the special edition because i really  want it because they're super pretty and honestly this is probably going to overtake the infernal  devices as my favorite cassandra clare series and potentially like my favorite series of all  time i just want at least one special edition for these so i'm gonna try and do that and then make  them their own shelves anyway you didn't need that entire story next up i have the strange  the dreamer duology by laini taylor with strange the dreamer and muse of nightmares night of kick  and puppets by laini taylor and then here on top of these i have these three little like jewelry  boxes they're really cute i like them a lot i just keep some of my jewelry in here that i wear most  frequently because it's easy for me to access and i don't have like a legitimate jewelry box  so they usually just sit here and i think they're cute and decorative and then i have the daughter  of smoke and bone series by laini taylor daughter of smoke and bone days of blood and starlight and  dreams of gods and monsters i always get questions about these editions as well and they are the uk  hardcovers so they're kind of harder to find they're out of print and then i have  the last magician series by lisa maxwell the last magician the devil's thief and the serpent's curse  and then lastly i have the graceling series by kristen cashore graceling fire and bitterblue  i really want to buy the new editions they release new really pretty editions and since  i love this series so much i might repurchase them in the nice covers and moving on down this is my  uh romance-ish shelf most of these are more like adult contemporary or literary fiction more than  anything else but mostly it's also just my taylor jenkins read shelf first up i have my advanced  copy of the seven husbands of evelyn hugo and then i have this uk edition of daisy jones on  the six this is one of my favorite books i own it's just so pretty and then i have the us edition  of daisy jones in the six and then we get into my stack of all the older taylor jenkins read books  after i do a finished copy of the seven husbands of evelyn hugo forever interrupted maybe in  another life and one true loves next i have red white and royal blue by casey mcquiston crazy  rich asians and china rich girlfriend by kevin quan her body and other parties and in the dream  house by carmen marie machado these are two of my all-time favorite books on earth were briefly  gorgeous by ocean vong a book i read recently that i'm absolutely in love with station 11 and  the glass hotel by emily st john mandel and then i have a few books by frederick bachmann none of  which i've read yet but they are my grandmother asked me to tell you she's sorry a man called ovae  and brittmarie was here where do you go bernadette by maria semple everything i never told you and  little fires everywhere by celestine the humans by matt haig the saffron kitchen by yasmin krother  and lastly what is not yours is not yours by helen oyemi all right and then moving on to this  next shelf i have my technically third classics shelf this one's more of a mix of a few things  i have some like modern classics some books on like feminism and also some um  like mystery psychological thriller books just tagged on to the end because i don't really  read a lot of them so i don't have many so i just kind of added them on to the end of this shelf it  doesn't really make sense but in my head it does first up i have all about love by bell hooks and  now i just realized my bell hooks books are not together and that annoys me so i'm gonna fix it  feminism is for everybody by bell hooks bad feminist by roxane gay woman at point zero  by niwal el sadawi sula by tony morrison the beljar by sylvia plath and then i have a ton  of books by gabriel garcia marquez i didn't buy these my grandfather actually bought them for hand by margarita angle  and then lastly things no one else can teach us by humble the poet which is actually more of  just a collection of essays and moving on to the next full bookshelf so the top shelf i have here  is pretty much just y a fantasy typically it's just like the first book in a fantasy series  and um some of them i have like two of the books in the series or something some of them maybe  are duologies i don't even know um but i just have like one or two of the books in the series  and for the most part it's just all yeah fantasy first up i have circle of shadows by evelyn the white city by eric larson i think this is actually technically non-fiction  the jane austen project by kathleen a flynn and lastly the fortune hunter by daisy goodwin  all right and then next we move on to a shelf that technically has a genre but kind of doesn't have  any genre at all it's mostly fantasy books mostly fantasy standalone but also like a mix of other  things as well there's some random books that like i only have the first book of the series on this  shelf i don't know it's just mostly magical books that's what i call it just my magical bookshelf i  have two shelves that are like this one where it's just like a mix of some random magical books that  i didn't know where else to put first up on this shelf we have the priory of the orange tree by  samantha shannon i know all and lastly tender morsels by margot lonegan all right  and then moving on this is actually one of my favorite shelves on my entire bookshelf and it's  actually a favorites shelf ironic isn't it but this is mostly just my favorite contemporaries why  a contemporaries plus a couple of others here and there like there's some kind of like more magical  books on this shelf as well but for the most part it's mostly just my favorite contemporaries the  first few books are the ones that are a bit more fantasy as you will see the first one i have on  here is house moving castle by diana wynne jones the weight of feathers by anna marie mclemore the  little prince the house in the cerulean sea by tj clune one of my new all-time favorites the strange  and beautiful sorrows of ava lavender by a lot of my little knickknacks are actually  from there all right and then finally moving on to the very last shelf of this bookshelf this doesn't  really have any books there's only one book on here this is mostly just all of my journals that  i use for different things i have a million of them and some of them are empty some of them  are half full some of them are like completely full some i use for scrap paper it's just kind  of a mix of random things um but i will always have way too many journals i just love journals  and journaling so yeah that's mostly what's on here but i'll show you the one book i do  have so the one book i do have okay so the one book i do have on this shelf is just this hand  lettering for beginners book as many of you know i love to journal and i love hand lettering and  um it's just a really great book to help you practice with that and i've been practicing a  lot lately and been doing a lot of hand lettering anyway so i've been using this to practice a bit  more and i really love it so yeah that's the only book i have on this but besides that the rest of  this is just journals and my little propagations of some of my plants and the first shelf of this  last bookshelf is obviously my harry potter shelf i used to have three harry potter shelves  i've now condensed that down into just this one shelf obviously i've talked before about  my feelings about jk rowling obviously i don't support anything she says or anything she does  and i will never be buying any books from her ever again or any merch from harry potter or anything  i've also mentioned in the past how harry potter is becoming less and less of a favorite series  for me and the nostalgia is starting to wear off honestly but obviously i'm gonna keep these  because they are childhood books that i've had for a really long time and they were gifts to me from  family and stuff so they have that sentimental value as well but yeah i'm not going to go into  this shelf because obviously everyone knows all of these books and the things that i have on here  are things i've had on this shelf forever so yeah nothing's really changed here moving down from  there we have the first of my contemporary shelves apart from like my favorite shelf and this shelf  is almost entirely contemporary books that i've already read there are only a few on here that i  haven't read i mostly just have them on the shelf because i wanted to keep books by the same author  next to each other so yeah for the most part i've read everything on this shelf there are maybe like  three or four that i haven't read apart from books though i do have this little squishy panda on this  shelf that i love very very much it's very squishy it's very nice when you're stressed out or anxious  and actually think is a why a contemporary  but it is just going to stay on this shelf and that is vincent and theo by deborah heilingerman  okay and then moving down from the contemporary shelf here we have what is kind of a mix of some  contemporary some fantasy some books that i don't really know how to categorize exactly slash some  books that just didn't fit on other shelves you know some of these shelves are really just a mix  of things and we're just gonna have to roll with it this is just the way that i organize i'm sorry  if it's confusing to you it makes sense to my brain anyway first up on this shelf i have all  the crooked saints by maggie stiefvater the invention of hugo cabaret by brian selznick  jane unlimited by kristen cashore furthermore in whichwood by tahrir mafi my around us by nova ren  zuma unwind by neil shusterman and lastly delirium by lauren oliver and finally on to my very  very last shelf i have mostly here just some like favorite childhood books that's pretty much what i  have on this shelf and a couple little knickknacks here i have this little teddy bear that one of my  best friends gave to me for my birthday years ago so i keep it here because it means a lot and then  on the other side i have a alphonse funko pop from full metal alchemist brotherhood because  like i mentioned earlier it's my favorite anime so i keep him there with his cute little cats so on  this side i just have like some of my favorite childhood books which i'll go through in a sec  and then on the other side there i just have three of the illustrated editions of harry potter that i  just keep down here because they're way too big and heavy to keep on the top shelf so yeah they  just sit down here but i'll go through these now first up i have a few spiderwick books because i  was and still am honestly a huge spider wig fan i grew up reading these and i love them so much  um and this is just the field guide so like the first book in the series next i've got meet  samantha which is an american girl doll book i was obsessed with the american girl dolls as a kid and  samantha was my favorite so i still have her book then i've got my childhood copy of the things you  can think by dr seuss and then here i have this book called you which is literally just a bunch  of like motivational and inspirational quotes my grandmother gave it to me for my birthday  one year so it means a lot to me now i've got to hold up the rest of the books because they are  too tall to fit on the shelves but next i have the spider week guide to the karen feeding of sprites  i was obsessed with this i used to draw the sprites all the time i wanted to be one i thought  i had found multiple they were just butterflies but nonetheless next i have probably one of my  most special books that i own which is arthur spyderwick's field guide to the fantastical world  around you another spiderweight book obviously this was the field guide that had like all of the  magical creatures recorded in it and everything and i was obsessed with this when i say obsessed  i mean obsessed like me and my friends literally thought we were merfolk or tree folk or elves  or whatever yeah we were those annoying kids in elementary school who would run around thinking  we had magic i miss those times honestly next i've got this really beautiful pop-up edition of the  little prince like i mentioned earlier the little prince is one of my favorite books of all time  and this pop-up edition is just so so pretty like i can't open it here because it's not gonna work  um but yeah it's very very pretty i love this book next i have this super fancy edition of hamlet  and lastly these two really pretty copies of madeline and madeline in london but there you  all have it that is it for my 2021 bookshelf tour i'm super curious because i love knowing  this about people but let me know how you organize your books i obviously as you've seen organized  by genre but um i like seeing the way that other people organize their books whether it be by color  or by author or just completely chaotic if it fits then it's going on that space in the shelf i'm  really curious to know how you organize yours if you'd like to follow me on any of my social media  i'm at clockwork underscore reads on instagram and twitter and tiktok and pretty much everywhere and  all my links are in the description box as always but thank you all so much for watching this video  thank you for waiting for it so patiently and i will see you in my next video byeyou\n"
