The iPhone 4 and iOS 4 Upgrade: A Comprehensive Overview
The highly anticipated iPhone 4 has finally been announced, and with it comes several exciting features that promise to revolutionize the smartphone experience. But before we dive into the details of this sleek new device, let's take a look at what Apple had to say about its latest offering.
In the initial presentation, Steve Jobs mentioned that the iPhone 4 is not just an incremental upgrade but a significant leap forward in terms of design and functionality. He highlighted the device's new stainless steel frame, which provides a more premium feel, and the glass front and back, which offer a sleek and durable aesthetic. The phone also boasts a larger screen size, making it easier to navigate and view content.
However, one of the most significant upgrades of the iPhone 4 is its improved camera capabilities. With the introduction of HD video recording, users can now capture high-quality video footage on their device. Additionally, the camera's performance has been enhanced, allowing for better low-light shots and more accurate colors. This will undoubtedly make a significant impact on photography enthusiasts who use their smartphones to capture life's precious moments.
But that's not all - Apple also announced several other notable features, including FaceTime video calling, which will enable users to communicate with loved ones in real-time over Wi-Fi connections. The company has confirmed that this feature will be available exclusively for iPhone 4 users and will require a stable internet connection to function.
Moving on from the iPhone 4, Apple also made an announcement about its upcoming iOS 4 upgrade, which will be available for free to all iPhone and iPod Touch users starting June 21st. This significant update promises to bring a range of new features, including multitasking capabilities, improved performance, and enhanced integration with other Apple devices.
However, it's worth noting that the 3G upgrade will not be as comprehensive, with some key features missing due to hardware limitations. For instance, users won't be able to experience the full benefits of iOS 4 on their 3G-enabled devices, such as multitasking and improved performance.
In other news, Apple has announced its own case design for the iPhone 4, which will feature a sleek and stylish design that wraps around the bezel. This innovative approach aims to provide users with protection while still maintaining the device's overall aesthetic appeal. While this may not be an essential accessory, it does demonstrate Apple's commitment to creating high-quality products that enhance the user experience.
Finally, let's take a look at the pricing and availability of the iPhone 4. Pre-orders for the device will begin on June 15th, with shipping set to start shortly after. The 16GB model will be priced at $199, while the 32GB version will cost $299. Interestingly, Apple has bumped down the price of the iPhone 3GS to just $100, making it a more affordable option for those looking to upgrade.
With the release of the iPhone 4 and iOS 4 upgrade on the horizon, Apple fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to get their hands on these exciting new devices. As we await the official launch date, one thing is certain - this will be an event to remember.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwell hold on the video goodness does not stop there Apple also introduced iMovie for iPhone the audience had a huge Applause for this and I don't blame blame them at all iMovie for iPhone selling for only $5 um I'm not sure when it comes out I think it comes out let me see in my notes I I don't have a note but I'm sure it comes out very soon for only $5 you can do pretty decent video editing on a small screen I cannot say this enough that is amazing and it looks really good too it actually looks really good and functional and then you can export to small medium or large or medium large or HD something like that you can export the HD video straight to Youtube or share it with your friends via email or whatever awesome this stuff gets me really excited if you can't tell you may have heard me mention the name iOS 4 um yes to put simply jobs didn't announced that they're renaming iPhone os4 to iOS 4 because well let's face it iPhone means phone and that OS also runs on the iPod touch and iPad so it kind of makes sense makes sense that makes sense so it kind of makes sense to take out the word phone and just called iOS 4 and looking at the big picture here this name change alone indicates maybe that they're going to do something like that with the Apple TV which is another rumor device to be coming out soon so maybe we'll see app support for Apple TV and whatever else they have down the line oh I'm sorry I was just reading a little book on my iPhone because I can well not really not yet but as of the iOS 4 upgrade update I should say um iBooks is coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch This is already expected since they announced this a couple months back but still it's cool nonetheless and yes you can wirelessly syn your iPad I mean your books your iBook to your iPad iPhone and iPod Touch sorry there's so many I devices so if I was to watch I mean watch so if I was to read a book I have in my iPad in in the iBooks app and I stopped I and then I had to go out to the I don't know whatever hang out with friends I don't know why I would read a book with friends but I could read a book and finish it on here or if I was in college so or waiting at an airport wherever the basic point is eye books wherever you go is a good thing and then of course jobs explained I ad which I personally support and I think it's a great deal um the fact that I ad stays I mean has has the ads stay within the app that's genius because if I see an ad in a free app and I want to click it I tell myself well tap it rather I tell myself maybe I shouldn't tap it because it's going to take me out of the app therefore that Advertiser or publisher doesn't make money therefore again fail so Apple's finally stepping up the game and changing the ad um business is that the right way of saying that and finally one more thing we have not had a one more thing in quite some time from Steve Jobs um they introduced something called FaceTime now I got to admit the the name is kind of stupid but it's just a name people it's just a name what matters is the feature FaceTime is video conferencing from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 this is amazing the fact that I can do this hey so and so how are you sorry it's my garage opening um under us but the fact that we have video conferencing out on our little devices again amazing got to truly appreciate that unfortunately it's Wi-Fi only right now it's not 3G but jobs did did make a note to say iPhone I mean that FaceTime was only available right now in 2010 he made a note to say 2010 so I'm guessing we'll see FaceTime support on 3G sometime in 2011 let's hope the iPhone 4 comes in two colors black and white um personally I might go with black if I ever upgrade um I do like white Electronics more hence my magic mouse the Apple keyboard Cinema display well that's aluminum but you you get the point but it it's it's a little too much white my opinion if if it was just white on the back like my current iPhone is like this then I'd get it but now it's literally the entire thing is black even the home button which is a little too bright for me so if I were to upgrade early somehow I would definitely get the black one okay so if you want the 16 GB version It's just $1.99 same as as as it was before if you want 32 GB it's 229 .99 um sadly and I got to admit it's a minor disappointment that we didn't see a huge boost in storage for instance 32 Gab by default would have been nice and 64 GB for a second option but it's really not a huge deal because I I've had a 16 gbyte iPhone 3GS for about a year now and I haven't and i' personally in my opinion um I have not needed more than 16 gigabyte now my iPad's 32 GB and well that's a different story also announced was that the iPhone 3G is dead they killed it but for good reason because they're bumping up I mean bumping down the iPhone 3GS price to just $100 which is pretty cool okay so with all this Blah Blah Blah Talk out of the the entire back is open um I got to say I don't know if that's going to fly with a lot of people was that weird to say a little fly I don't know uh but I got to say it it looks nice I don't know if a lot of people are going to buy that though cuz I like back for protection on on my cases got to use protection people okay so to wrap up this video the iOS 4 upgrade will be available for free to iPhone and iPod Touch users yes I said that correctly for free I'm starting June 21st for iPhone 3GS users as well in 3G 3G users will get the features but not but not all the features uh meaning multitasking because of Hardware limitations that pretty much sums up everything in my opinion the iPhone 4 is the biggest upgrade since the original iPhone launch in 2007 and actually that's what Steve Job set on stage because the 3G upgrade was okay I mean we got the 3G and the App Store the app store was a huge deal 3G was a huge deal to a lot of people 3GS wasn't a huge upgrade I mean it
