A Thrifty Summer: A Walmart Haul

As the weather warms up, it's time to think about updating our summer wardrobe without breaking the bank. I recently visited my local Walmart to see what affordable and stylish pieces they had to offer. From a sunbathing tanning chair to a cute straw bag, here are some of the items I picked up on my latest haul.

One of the first items I came across was a pool floaty lounge chair. I grabbed it because I thought it would be a great way to lay out in the sun and enjoy some quality time by the pool. I opted for the zero-gravity chair, which seemed like it would provide the perfect level of support and relaxation. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that it didn't quite live up to my expectations - it was harder to flatten than I had hoped. Despite this, I'm still happy with my purchase and the added backrest has come in handy for reading or simply lounging around.

Next up was a pool floatie-style tanning chair. After discovering that the zero-gravity chair wasn't quite what I needed, I thought I'd give this alternative a try. And at just $9, it's an incredibly affordable option. The backrest provides excellent support and allows me to get some reading done while soaking up the sun.

I also picked up a cute straw bag with a fun summer vibe. The bag is made from faux leather and features a beautiful braid detail that gives it a high-end feel without the hefty price tag. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this item, which normally retails for around $50 at TJ Maxx or similar stores. At just $20, it's an absolute steal.

Moving on to clothing, I picked up a pair of linen-style shorts that caught my eye. The wide leg style is currently trending and I love the way it looks with these particular shorts. They have plenty of pockets, which is always a bonus for me - there's nothing worse than losing track of your phone or wallet while working out. I opted for a size large, and at $18, they were an incredibly good deal.

I also picked up some athletic shorts that I've already seen in my friend's pink and peach versions. The purple color caught my eye, and I couldn't resist the opportunity to add it to my collection. These shorts have pockets, just like the linen shorts, and are priced at a reasonable $9.96. One of my favorite brands, Avia, is featured prominently here, and I'm excited to wear these while working out or jogging.

Finally, I picked up a black athletic top from Avia that features a high-low design. The back is long and comfortable, which is exactly what I need when it comes to workout gear. I opted for a size up to ensure a flattering fit, and at just $5.96, this was an incredibly affordable option.

Overall, my Walmart haul was a resounding success. From the fun pool floatie lounge chair to the cute straw bag and stylish athletic wear, I'm excited to put these pieces to use over the coming weeks.

you guys really love when i do walmart hauls i actually don't do them too too often but i needed to go get some things i thought it would be fun to also check out like the rest of the store see what was going on because i recently heard that walmart is gonna do a dollar section just like target so they're gonna have one dollar items three up i really don't know what the actual uh pricing range is gonna be if they're gonna match exactly like how you know target is doing it but i have not seen it yet at my stores i actually thought that i was in the dollar section but i think it's actually the clearance items that i found so i'll share all those things with you today too it's pretty random there's a lot to go through so i'm just gonna jump in i'm gonna go ahead and get i'm gonna get the mug out of the way okay you already know how i am with mugs i feel like i have a lot more of holiday seasonal mugs and not so much like just regular mugs for you know any day of the year i saw this little stacked donut one and it was only like three bucks like 3.97 thought it was really really cute so i went ahead and got that one i have no room for that mug but i got it all right now i'm going to show you guys the clearance stuff so i found these really cute tumblers and they were 75 cents i just could not believe it they're really cute a really cute theme so we've got wish upon a star i love the peach and navy combo on here and the straw is blue too yeah so it's kind of like translucent and then this one is like an all peach moment um let the sunshine in that's like all the really pretty details this one's very monochromatic which i love and then we've got this like yellow and navy moment it's got all the phases of the moon and it says not phased which is really funny so love that one the lit or the straw is yellow i don't know if you can kind of tell but yeah these were 75 cents i was just i could not believe it also in the clearance section i found these they're usb flash drives and i just thought they were so summery and cute not to like you know pick up they were two dollars and fifty cents each and they're four gigabytes so and just to show you guys what it would look like so there's that i'm sure they had other options but i didn't dig through absolutely everything um but just the ice cream and the pizza and then i found this guy right here which i thought for the price for three dollars i thought this was really cool i haven't been to target in a really long time so i have no idea what's happening at the dollar spot but i know in the past when i've gone i've never seen anything like on this level in the dollar spot so uh rechargeable battery quality sound listen to music wirelessly lightweight and portable with a little retro design so oh my gosh that is so cute i have to how do i do this all right so i think it's bluetooth so i'm gonna see if i can um connect my phone to this okay it's connected so let's play some music i'm gonna go for something 80s like you just know i'm going to do that right i actually did not expect for it to be that loud this would be a really cute pickup if you're like in your backyard like tanning or something you know you can just take this little speaker and that would be really cute it was three dollars originally marked as five but again in the clearance section for three i would say that i'm pleasantly surprised for three dollars how well that speaker is not much obviously base to it but three dollars come on also marked in the clearance section were these sets of ribbon i just thought they were really fun and i haven't really been picking up too many craft items like outside of dollar tree so i thought i would pick these up and share them with you guys you can see that they're all like a little donut theme there's so many little ribbons to choose from and they were each just one dollar so if you're in the market for some crafting ribbon these are at walmart also part of the clearance section i found these clipboards i decided to pick them up because you guys know i'm an avid dollar tree shopper and i always love to get things that are in the same price range from other stores and kind of like compare them with you guys to the dollar tree stuff so these are just the clipboards they were each a dollar so same price so you get this front part here which is the clipboard but then you open it up and it looks like this but you can always actually just like make your own folders and insert it but i think the little apple prints are so cute for school and then here is this one with the star print and it's the same concept oh i love that color on the inside so they were originally marked as three dollars so that's why they were in the clearance section because they're marked down to one the same concept i saw these placemats i've never really bought them from walmart before not that i can remember but because i buy them from dollar tree i wanted to just kind of put them in my cart bring them home share them with you guys because these were not comparable in terms of pricing these were 1.96 but i wanted you guys to see the patterns because that's where i think that they have the edge on dollar tree sometimes though dollar tree does come out with the most beautiful place mats they've done it before i feel like lately there really hasn't been anything quite like on this level but we've got the sunflowers here's the other side by the way super pretty love that then we have this little lemon moment it says lemons there and then i do love that it's double-sided i don't think i've seen the double-sided ones at dollar tree uh here's a coffee one this one's gonna be really cute for like a little coffee bar i mean a dollar ninety six you know essentially rounding up it's a dollar more than what you get at dollar tree but prints and patterns that we haven't seen before then we have the ever popular buffalo check and then this is a gray how cool is that so there's that one and then the final one is this floral one it's definitely giving me um re drummond vibes and from you know the cooking show um her whole line at walmart has this like floral look to it so it's not her it's not like her label but it just reminds me of it so i have been fresh out of eyeliner so i picked some up i don't think i've ever tried this one before it is revlon i actually almost passed up on this just because it is a black brown color and i really wanted like true black but i was like you know what actually let's do this black brown because i bet it will be a little bit softer and not as harsh wearing this color during the day so and it says up to 24 hours where so i'm definitely going to try that out and then i picked up some more body wash i went through the first two that i showed you guys like in the last walmart haul i got lavender and then what was the other one was it aloe i think it was aloe and i'm almost finished with both of those bottles so i really enjoyed this body wash it is by the brand called ivory and this one is in the hint of coconut scent i don't know why the camera there we go it's like really bright today but i'm just sitting in front of a huge window so i think that's why but i really love this brand so and i love anything coconut i didn't even know that they made a coconut one because the first time i bought the first two i don't think i saw a coconut one because it definitely would have ended up in my cart so we're gonna try that one out i'll show you my daughter got a body wash as well she only ever wants to use dove so she got the pomegranate and hibiscus tea and then she picked up the airspun cody which so reminds me i used to use this powder all the time a couple years ago but i stopped wearing foundation so and that's why i stopped with this too i just feel like this pairs really well with a foundation um but this stuff is good it's old school it's so like makeup traditional and it's really good stuff so if you're in the market for some loose powder and you've never heard of this so many makeup artists and makeup youtubers love this stuff and from my own experience it is really good it doesn't cake it's lightweight and it's super cheap so she i guess she's gonna try it she's never my daughter has never used this so um she also got herself some toothpaste this is the one she picked out and she also picked up some razors and these are the ones that she prefers the venus sensitive sensible ones so a pack of how many six in here and i actually got some new razors i've never tried the skintimates before honestly i did it because the packaging it kind of got me sometimes i like trying new stuff and i've been on like the same razors over and over i actually prefer getting like the men's one i think they work better but um i do want to just like try some new ones and this one says raspberry rain and this one's sensitive skin but which pairs actually with the skin tomatoes shaving gels so they have the matching shaving gel so they have raspberry rain and and the sensitive um so yeah this one's scented i guess it's raspberry rain which is what kind of caught my attention i was like oh i don't think i've ever seen scented razors before so and they also had like a lavender one as well and maybe even like a fourth option i should have got them all to show you but these were the two i picked up and you get four blades in a pack so i got that and then i felt like i also needed some sunblock i know i use the sun bum uh it's a little bit more expensive i get mine off of amazon i use it for my face when i go jogging so i thought i would just kind of have something else on hand that's a little bit cheaper and in the end i actually went with copper tone baby i've actually heard a lot about how like the baby formula ones are like the best so i decided let me try this it is pediatrician recommended 50 spf so i like that and it's free of just so many chemicals that are all listed here and i do like the lotion kind um the sprays i feel like just is never really a full even coverage how to adjust the lighting i just feel like it's like overly bright but then i also got the coppertone sunscreen stick is this made specifically for the face it doesn't say face on it but it's pretty small so i just kind of imagine like maybe all over the body i wouldn't want to do that but that's just me and but i did get this for my face it is f 50 spf hypoallergenic and gentle and then again so many um chemicals that are not in this as well okay next up is a new candle walmart has really been knocking out like new styles and shapes of the the candle jar so it's been really fun to kind of see what they come out with but this forest honey is everything it is a scent that i've never smelled before through candles it really and it smells like forest honey like i didn't even know that forest honey could have a scent but it does and it's this so next time you're at walmart smell this one they also had one that i almost picked up but i didn't it was like called sea minerals or something um but this one was 12.97 it's gonna go really well with my aesthetic here so i got that all right the next item i've been looking for something i wish that it came in time for my media room reveal if you haven't seen that video i'll link it down below uh i went from like modern farmhouse using blacks to basically the same style that i have downstairs a lot of creams greens browns and i needed a pot a flower pot to put my faux tree plant base in so i'm just gonna do an over shot here so that you guys can see what this looks like but it's so pretty i love that it's white with this like i this like i don't know this like twig material i don't even know straw or i really don't know what material this is but it's the right color and i love it so um yeah this is gonna be for the media room next up i got this item because i feel like it's a really inexpensive way to do like a sunbathing tanning chair and that is a pool floaty lounge so this would be a really great way to like have a layout chair i actually got one from amazon and it was a zero gravity chair but i wasn't paying attention and i thought that the chair could like go a little bit more flat but it doesn't so it's a great chair we're still keeping it but it's a lot harder to like kind of lay out in the sun and i like this because you've got the backrest too so you can read and yeah so got a little pool floatie i think this was like nine dollars their pool stuff is really inexpensive and then i found this straw summer bag oh my gosh so cute see sun salt i also like that it's like red white and blue i think this is just very pretty for july and then we've got like the faux i imagine it's faux leather a nice braid detail here this just does not look like it was only 20 bucks i feel like if you walked into a tj maxx you would see something like this there so it's really nice it's lined beautifully you've got pockets in here too got the little snap closure and it's just like a fun bag you know to take to maybe like if you have a community pool kind of thing this would be a great bag it's a pretty good decent size too and the back by the way is plain the last couple of things are some clothing items that i picked up at walmart i'm probably going to do a try on of it but the first things are these like linen style shorts the wide leg which the wide leg is in right now and i really like that feature also has some pockets i did a size large and this is 18 i love this color they just look like ann taylor loft or just like those bigger names you know i'm like maybe even abercrombie has that look so i just maybe like nordstroms or top shop or like i don't even know you guys i mean i shop my clothes at sheehan so but i really like the pockets i just think just feeling this here for 18 this was a really good price next up i got some athletic shorts i actually um have these in i think pink and peach and i saw it in purple and i thought this purple's so pretty i don't normally wear too many bright colors when i work out or jog as a matter of fact most of the times that i vlog and show like my workout outfit i'm always in black and white so um i need to push myself out there and really use color and these shorts are so cute they also have pockets and they are 9.96 i've even seen videos of people kind of comparing these a little bit to lululemon and then one of my favorite things i feel like i've been waiting for walmart to do this and they finally put out some good tops but i've been waiting for some okay so i've been waiting for them to put out some really good athletic tops and this is really plain it's just a white shirt and i did size up two sizes for myself because when i'm jogging i do like my shirts to be longer it's just how i'm more comfortable and a good white top for me running is just so good so worth the money 5.96 this came in a variety of colors i saw it in navy i saw it in red hot pink but i you know me i went black and white like that's just and i for me i think workout clothes is really important i feel like it makes it more fun and it makes me actually want to work out i can't tell you how many times just the simple act of thinking about my workout outfit and putting it on is what actually pushed me to go running so i also got a black one and then this one you guys i'm so excited because it's such a beautiful neon green color the camera is definitely washing it out and it's making it look more mint than a beautiful like right there that's more of the natural color and this brand right here avia i love it i love it i have another top it's black um and what i like about it is how it's kind of like a high low not very much like you can see it right there but i love that feature because again i need some length on the back it's just what i'm more comfortable in and i sized up one and that's it for the
