The Most Stylish Laptop Ever Made [ASUS ZenBook 30 Edition] _ The Tech Chap

The 30th Anniversary Seuss Zenbook Edition 30: A Starfleet-Inspired Laptop with a Lifestyle Twist

As I walked around Computex this year, I couldn't help but notice that one of the laptops on display bore an uncanny resemblance to the iconic Star Trek logo. I'm not being super nerdy when I say it does a bit right – it's clear that ASUS was going for a sci-fi vibe with their latest creation, the Seuss Zenbook Edition 30 or UX3-3/4.

This laptop is designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Dr. Seuss and has taken on a more lifestyle accessory-like approach than its traditional Zenbook counterparts. It's not entirely clear if it's meant to be a laptop or a handbag, but one thing's for sure – it's certainly an eye-catching device. As I was filming the video on the Zenbook 30 and Porsche, I didn't have the opportunity to bring the laptop with me, but ASUS did send over a reviewer's guide that I'd like to share with you.

According to the guide, the Seuss Zenbook Edition 30 boasts "future classic" looks, thanks in part to its lid being encased in luxurious pearl white genuine leather. This pure bold statement is certainly a notable feature of the device, and it's clear that ASUS was going for a more premium look with this design choice. The rose gold anodized diamond-cut edges and trim add another layer of sophistication, while the exclusive gold-plated 30th anniversary logo on the lid makes for a distinctive touch.

While the marketing spiel might be a bit OTT, it's clear that ASUS is serious about making a statement with their latest creation. And make no mistake – this laptop is not just a pretty face. Underneath its sleek exterior lies a powerful machine, featuring an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX 250 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and either 512GB or 1TB of PCIe SSD storage.

Despite the impressive specs, I did only have the chance to spend a short amount of time with the Seuss Zenbook Edition 30. However, it's clear that this laptop would be more than capable of handling light to medium workloads in applications like Lightroom and Photoshop, as well as full HD edits in Premiere Pro. ASUS also claims that the device is the world's most compact 13.3-inch laptop, thanks to its impressive 95% screen-to-body ratio – which is achieved thanks in part to those sleek nano-edged bezels on all sides.

Another notable feature of the Seuss Zenbook Edition 30 is its clever design choices, such as the keyboard being partially covered by the bottom chin when the device is opened. This not only helps with airflow but also gives users a better typing position and improved speaker sound. The laptop itself weighs in at just 1.2.9 kilograms (or approximately 2.8 pounds), making it a remarkably portable device.

In addition to its impressive specs and design, the Seuss Zenbook Edition 30 also features a range of connectivity options, including one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, a USB 3.1 Gen A port, a full-sized HDMI 2 port, and an SD card slot. It's worth noting that there is no Thunderbolt 3 on this device – which might be a disappointment for some users.

One of the standout features of the Seuss Zenbook Edition 30 is its touchpad or screen pad, depending on how you look at it. This new version boasts a generous 5.65-inch IPS touchscreen display and offers a range of intuitive controls, including support for calculators and note-taking apps. According to ASUS, this screen pad is twice as efficient as last year's model, using less battery power while still delivering impressive functionality.

As I was getting my hands on the Seuss Zenbook Edition 30, I couldn't help but wonder whether it might appeal to a wider audience than just hardcore tech enthusiasts. And the answer, according to ASUS, is yes – this laptop has been designed with style and substance in mind for both sci-fi fans and Instagram followers.

isn't the official Star Trek laptop unfortunately but it is the newest seuss Zenbook edition 30 or ux3 3/4 unveiled this year's Computex is designed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a Seuss and it's a little bit different than your normal Zen book they're definitely going for that lifestyle accessory angle I mean I'm not sure if it's a laptop or a handbag okay so I just got back from Computex world's filming the video on the Zen book 30 and Porsche I don't have it here with me but as soos have just sent me a reviewers guide and I want to read a quick paragraph to you on how they describe the design of the laptop the Zen book edition 30 has future classic looks with a lid encased in luxurious pearl white genuine leather for a pure bold statement the rose gold anodized diamond-cut edges and trim accompanied by the exclusive gold-plated 30th anniversary logo on the lid are eye catching additions that make the Zen book edition 30 something very special right so the marketing spiel is a bit OTT but it is a genuinely beautiful laptop and it's not just a pretty face either it's a full HD screen with 8th gen I 5 and i7 processors integrated or geforce MX 250 graphics 16 gigs of ram and 512 gigs or one terabyte of PCIe SSD storage I only had a short time with it but it did feel pretty nippy and those specs mean it'll definitely be fast enough for some light to medium workloads in Lightroom Photoshop and full HD edits in Premiere Pro a soos also claimed it's the world's most compact 13.3 inch laptop with a 95% screen to body ratio thanks to those nano edged bezels on all sides well technically the bottom chin is covered up by the keyboard when it opens up which I actually think is a pretty neat design as it helps with air flow it gives you a better typing position and actually it makes a speaker sound better the whole thing is also just 18 and a half millimeters thick and it weighs 1.2 9 kilograms or about 2.8 5 pounds so you'd barely feel this carrying it around in your fancy designer tote bag it is also really good to see the to keep the webcam at the top of the screen despite the thin bezels which also supports Windows hello so you can unlock the laptop with your beautiful face and because it's a 3d IR camera it'll work in the dark as well as four ports we get one USB 3.1 gen2 type-c so unfortunately no Thunderbolt 3 which is disappointing along with a USB 3.1 gen2 type a 1 USB 2 type a for some reason a full-sized HDMI 2 and a microSD port as soos also promised up to 14 hours of battery life but in real life I reckon you get close to 8 or 9 the Zenbook does have another trick up its sleeve though the touchpad well should I say the screen pad this new 2.0 version of the screen pad is a five point six five inch IPS touchscreen and you can do a bunch of things like please full if I use a calculator take notes it's pretty nifty and as you say it's two half times more efficient than last year's screen pads so it doesn't use up as much battery life if I'm honest I'm not totally convinced how often I would use the screen pad I mean you can obviously just not use it if you prefer to save battery but I guess it is nice to have the option so a suits are definitely pitching this thirty-year edition as a lifestyle designer product but it's got some pretty decent specs under the hood I mean I still maintain it is a Starfleet logo so I guess combined with the leather and rose gold trim I think for the first time ever there's a product that appeals to both sci-fi tecna's and Instagram models what do you make
