ratios. Some of them are really good, some of them are really bad,but they're all insane. And this is "D-List".Hit that Subscribe button.I love you.- Great job, James.Thank you, Mr. Spielberg.Once again I want to thankour friends at eBay Motorsfor sponsoring anotherepisode of "The D-List".Listen, I'm a busy dude.I got a beautiful 16-pound golden doodlethat I got to take care of,I'm a great amateur just boop, beep, boop, beep, beep, bop on over, open up the eBay Motors app,run a quick search, and just absorb allthe automotive goodnesslike I am right now.And best of all when you're ready to buyeBay top of that eBayMotors makes shipping easybecause they're partneredwith a bunch of shippersand you get partner shipping rates. Now my searches can benationwide and not just limitedto as far as my link in the description below.Again, download the app, start your new car search. Thanks again, eBay.These guys are reallycool, I like them a lot.Now before we get into thislist of power to weight ratioI just want to mentionthat it should be calledweight to power ratiobecause everyone putsthe bigger number first, but we're still gonnacall it power to weight. And just to give you some context,a normal power to weight ratio, the 2020 Honda Accord hasa power to weight ratioof 16.3 pounds per horsepower.3,131 pounds, 192 hrspr. The smaller that number isthe better the ratio, capisce?(James speaking Italian)- Dodge Viper SRT.- We're gonna start withan American snake car,the V10-powered hissyboy with enough torqueto tow to double-wide trailers. The Dodge Viper SRT.Now we've talked aboutwhy this thing is sucha great track car beforein an episode of "Bumper 2 Bumper".I will link it at the end of this video. But the coolest thing about the Viperis that it's always justattacked being a carin a way that no other car does.Big old honking V10 engine in the front, two seats, rears wheel drive,a six speed gearbox thatyou row through yourself, and not much else. The original Viper didn'teven come with locks. They were so busy making the thing fastthey never thought about whatyou'd when you were not in it.But despite its lack in features, this bloated land eelclocks in at 3,378 pounds, which is surprisingly heavy. The Viper makes up for that with a stableof buff, vascular horses.645 hrsprs put this scaly poison wormat 5.24 pounds per horsepower. For under $100,000this is the best power to weight ratioyou can get from a largevolume manufacturer. This isn't surprising at allbecause it's made by Dodgeand Dodge is insane. If I ever get rich I'mgonna buy Nolan one of them.Invite him over and not tell him.Just maybe like open the garage door. He'd be like "What you got Viper?"I'd be like, "Nah, man, you got a Viper."He'd be like "What?"You kidding me?"- Toyota iQ.- The Toyota IQ is a short little boywith a wheelbase only a footlonger than its track width. It's almost a square. It is also one of the lightestmodern production carsever to sell in the US,tipping the scales at only 1,896 pounds. Its 1.3 liter little tiny boymotor produced 97 horsepower, which is almost twice as much as my golf, giving it a power to weight ratioof 19.55 pounds for every hrspr. And in Japan Toyota had Gazooracing tune 100 of these guyswith a supercharger.Boosted this little boy to 120 hrsprs, giving it about 16 pounds per horse puppy. The same power to weight ratio as a Miata. But that's not even thecraziest version of this car. What if you wanted tospend triple the moneyon one of these petite little chode carsin exchange for a way nicer interior, not any more power, and an Aston Martin badge?Well, you'd be in luck my friend, because Aston Martin re-badgedthese glorified Power Wheelsand sold it as the Aston Martin Cygnet. But if this car is alittle too dainty for you, maybe this next one willbe right up your alley.- Ford F450 Super Duty.- The Henry Ford F450 isan extremely large bargeweighing in at a girthy 8,600 pounds. That's heavier than two empty dumpsters. And I know that thosedumpsters would be heavierif they had a bunch ofrocks in them or something. But if you think about it,it would still be really heavy either way.Just saying. Is this truck big? Yes.Is it powerful also? Double yes.Yes, yes.The F450 has a 6.7 literturbo charged powerstroke V8good for 450 hrsprs. So if you do the maths, despite his gargantuan stature, that's a power to weightratio of 19.1 to one, which is slightly betterthan that tiny Toyota thatI was just talking about. Now, this number is impressive enough, but when you think about the factthat diesel trucks like this guyare built for torque and not horsepowerit makes it even more impressive. If this thing had adifferent cylinder headit would probably go full on "Cavalia"of dancing buff horses. You know,"Cavalia", that show that rollsinto town with a big tent. You get all excited 'causeyou think it's a circusand then you find out it's horse dancingand you get even more excited!- Honda S200 AP1.- The Honda S2000 isthe holy grail of VTECfor a lot of people. You can't find a new sportscar getting launched todaywithout someone in the comments saying"The S2000 may that kindof power without a turbo"20 years ago."And they'd be dead right. The S2000 is the very last of that 90s eraof over-engineered Japanese engines. The F20C in the AP1 made 237 horsepowerand could rev to 9,000 RPM.And I know a lot of people prefer the AP2.One of the main complaints with the S2000was its lack of torque. So in 2004, they strokedthe engine to 2.2 liters, lowered the rev limit, and made more torqueacross the power band. They made its headlightsa little differentand they called the AP2.But here's the thing. The AP2 also gained about 50 pounds.and since the horsepowernumber didn't really change, the AP1 technically has abetter power to weight ratiowith 11.87 pounds per horsepower, compared to the AP2's 12.08 horse pounds. Now I know that doesn'tsound like a lot, okay, but imagine you go to the deliand you eat 12 hounds of peppered turkeyand you try to run homeas fast as you can. You're gonna be a lot slowerthan if you just ate 11.87pounds of peppered turkey. That's just facts.- Ariel Atom 500.- Ariel is a former motorcycle company,a very famous mermaid, that ended up buildingsome of the craziest roadlegal go-karts around. We did a video on them not too long ago,but what we didn't talk aboutwas what happens when you let someoneshove a V8 into one of these dang boys.Hartley Enterprises puttogether a three liter V8and honestly it's a perfectengine for an Ariel. The Atom 500 has twice asmany wheels as a motorcycle,it's got twice as manyseats as a motorcycle,so why not give it an enginemade from two motorcycle engines?Hartley took the screaminginnards of two Suzuki Hayabusasand popped out a 10,000 RPMflat plane crank American V8that weighs less than half of an LS1and it's literally the sickest thingany of us have ever heard.Thing sounds betterthan Luciano Pavarotti. This skeleton of a car willdo zero to 60 in 2.3 secondsand zero to 100 in 5.4,and somewhere in between 60 and 100it will have torn your face offbecause it ain't got no windshield. The boss of Ariel, Simon Saunders, was actually quoted as saying,"It's hard to believe the Ariel Atom V8"is permitted to exist right now."He made a car so scaryhe doesn't even think it should be legal. At 500 horsepower and only 1,213 poundsthis thing is way upat the top of the boardwith 2.4 to six pounds per hrspr.- Lotus Exige Cup 430.- Power to weight ratiolists without Lotusis kind of like me without my beard.People get freaked out and theycan't stop talking about it.The British manufactureris best summarizedin a quote from itsfounder, Colin Chapman."Simplify and add lightness."They made a light carcalled the Lotus Elise. Then they simplified thatand added some lightnessand they got the Lotus Exige. Then they simplified even moreand added even more lightness. And after all that work, the simplification ray cooling down.spare bits of lightness scatteredaround the garage floor, and standing before themwas the Lotus Exige Cup 430.And as the name suggestsit makes 430 hrsprs. And that power comes from amid mounted supercharged V6.But this isn't some exotic fancy V6,'cause remember, simplify. And what could be simplerthan the engine out of a Toyota Camry?Turns out all you need to doto make your Camry super coolwas to add a superchargerand make it a Lotus.I know, right?Toyota's like, "Ah, ifonly we'd thought of that!"All in all, at 2,328 pounds,it's got a power to weightratio of 5.414 to one.- Camaro 1SS.- Now Japan, England, andItaly are usually the onesthrowing lightweight sports cars our way.You got your Miatas, you got your 124s,you got your 86s, you got your S2000s.But none of them, I repeat, none of themhave a better power to weightratio than the Camaro 1SS.Nowadays Chevy offers twoversions of the Camaro SS.You got the 1SS and you got the 2SS.The 1SS is the entry level V8 packageAnd the 2SS is the luxury option, which means the 2SS is$10,000 more expensive, has the same 6.2 literV8 making 455 hrsprs, and it weighs more becauseit's got like heated seatsand blind spot monitoringand parking assist. And all that luxury gives the2SS a power to weight ratio9.63 to one, which youknow is respectable. But you don't need to worryabout looking behind youor getting your butt sweat onbecause with a little overeight pounds per pony, the 1SS is the best powerto weight ratio you can getfor under $40,000.Heck it's the best powerto weight ratio you can getfor under $50,000.I mean, when we startedputting this list togetherI was expecting a bunch of tiny cars. And that might have beenthe way of the world oncewhen American cars were biggerand European cars were smaller. But with modern engines, modern luxuries, and modern safety equipment, muscle cars are lookinga little bit more lean. They're not adding mass, they're cutting weight.- LCC Rocket.- If you want to talk aboutcompanies that make light carsyou might want to mentionthe Light Car Companyand their car, the Rocket.Weighing in at only 850 pounds, this is by far thelightest car on our listand one of the most unusual.People who've driven the rocketsay it's unlike any other car. It's so light the suspension and steeringrespond like something alien. It might only have 165 hrsprsbut it's bantam weight bodygives it a power to weight ratioof 5.15 to one.- Koenigsegg One:1.- You couldn't do a powerto weight ratio listwithout a car that is literally namedafter its power to weight ratio. You just couldn't do it.The One:1 is Christian Von Koenigsegg'sperfectly proportioned babythat was built to smash theproduction car lap recordat the Nurburgring. This twin turbo V8powered carbon fiber cometwas on track to be the firstcar to lap the green hellin under seven minutes by a big margin. But it hasn't actuallygotten to lay down a lap yet.The first time this 1,360hrspr mega car went out to trythe track was closedto fastest lap attemptsafter a crash during a race. The next year they tried again, but they crashed during the hot lapand it was only rebuilt about a year ago.Can you imagine crashing this car?Just getting out and thisbig bald ass mother(bleep)is just staring at you rage crying? And seeing as though there'sonly five others in the worldand Koenigsegg has just crashed one, none of the other ownersseem to be willingto let them borrow a car.But that doesn't stop the One:1from living up to its namewith a power to weightratio of, you guessed it,2.236 to one.The name comes fromkilograms to horsepowerand I've already gone too fardown this list with pounds,so that's what you get.The One:1 really isan impressive list ending car.But not this list.A twist!- Bloodhound LSR.- Now you might say that it's unfairto include a land speedrecord car on this list, but Bloodhound LSR hasearned all of my respect, don't have any left, for the certified bonkersnumbers that it puts down. This has power to weighton a whole other level.Even though it weighs 14,000 pounds,it out powers all of thecars on this list combined. The bloodhound has aJaguar supercharged V8just to power its oxidizer pumps. That's an air pump feedingtwo Eurojet EJ200 jet engines. It's current top speed isover 760 miles per hour, and I say current becausethis car is always evolvingand the team is shooting for agoal of 1,000 miles per hour.In a car.Now you're saying "James, what's the horsepower number?"Give it to us, buddy."How much more power does this baby have?"A lot.Like a lot, a lot.The bloodhound LSR makes135,000 horsepower. One, three, five, zero, zero, zero horsepower, giving it a power toweight ratio of 0.1 to one.Or if you're gonna beweird about your ratios, that's one pound for every 10 horsepower.I think this is the first timeI can safely say I'm good.I don't need any more power.I thought I didn't have a limit, but turns out 135,000,I think we can call it.This thing really isan amazing achievement, and if you guys are downto learn more about itdrop a comment down belowand maybe we'll do a"Bumper 2 Bumper" on it.Hope you guys enjoyed this video. If you did hit that Subscribe buttonand the notification bellto make
