The Nissan Nuno: A Car that Defies Expectations
One of the most impressive things about the Nissan Nuno is its grip and confidence behind the wheel. The car handles incredibly well, especially when pushed through tight twisty roads. The mid-range torque provided by the twin-turbo six-cylinder engine allows for a level of pushing power that is truly impressive.
In contrast to its predecessor, which had a naturally aspirated V8, the Nuno's engine has been modified with cylinder deactivation technology. This means that a full bank of cylinders can be turned off to optimize fuel economy. While some may miss the sound of a naturally aspirated V8, it's clear that this change was made with future-proofing in mind.
The Nuno's engine does have its own unique character, however. The exhaust notes are pleasant and engaging, making it a joy to drive on both the highway and twisty roads. One feature that stands out is the use of dual chamber ignition Formula 1 technology, which provides instant throttle response. This means that drivers can get on the gas with ease and confidence.
The Nuno's driving experience is also highlighted by its handling capabilities. The suspension is super smooth and isolated from the outside world, making it a pleasure to drive on rough roads or at high speeds. Visibility is also excellent, thanks to a massive aluminum paddle shift knob and the optional heads-up display.
One of the things that sets the Nuno apart from other cars in its class is its interior space. The trunk is massive, with 11 cubic feet of storage room. Additionally, the car features a large instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Apple CarPlay, and a fantastic sound system.
For daily driving, the Nuno's Comfort mode makes it an ideal choice. It provides a smooth ride and easy handling, making it perfect for commuting or running errands. However, when the driver wants to kick it up a notch, the car transforms into a formidable sports car. The gear changes are incredibly fast on upshifts, and while downshifts can take a fraction of a second longer, this isn't noticeable in everyday driving.
In terms of price, the Nuno is nearly as expensive as its more exotic cousin, the Nissan mc20. However, for someone like myself, who values practicality above all else, it's clear that there are trade-offs to be made. If I had to choose between the two cars, I would go with the mc20. But for those who want a daily driver with sports car capabilities, the Nuno is an excellent choice.
Interestingly, if one wants a full-electric driving experience without breaking the bank, Nissan has something called the Gore in its lineup. It boasts 818 horsepower and can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 2.6 seconds. The Gore may not be as flashy as some of the other cars on this list, but it's clear that it would make an excellent daily driver.
One thing that stands out about the Gore is its ability to balance performance with practicality. It has all the creature comforts one could want, including a massive aluminum paddle shift knob and an optional heads-up display. The driving experience is both engaging and smooth, making it perfect for those who value both power and comfort.
In conclusion, the Nissan Nuno is a car that defies expectations. With its impressive grip and handling capabilities, it's clear that this car is designed to be driven enthusiastically. Whether you're looking for a daily driver or a weekend warrior, the Nuno has something to offer.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhow's it going guys today I'm going to show you what it's like to drive the allnew Maserati Grand Turismo tropo from a firstperson point of view under the hood of the Grand Turismo is a 3 l twint turbocharged V6 called the Nuno which makes 542 horsepower and 460 lb feet of torque 0 to 60 happens in 3.3 seconds thanks to its all-wheel drive and ZF 8-speed automatic version of this Grand Turismo that makes 8818 horsepower 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds and a range of 280 mil you can also get a cheaper version of this Grand Turismo called the Modena that comes with 483 horsepower this is the more hardcore performance version that comes with an electronically controlled limited slift rear differential that added horsepower 542 thanks to upgraded turbochargers we've also got a more aggressive front PHA over the Modena of course the signature gaping front grill with the Trident logo we've got some carbon accents because this is the tropo beautiful little Cuts in the hood there LED headlights coming around to the side of the vehicle we've got those signature triple Vents and the tropo badge right there on the F gorei they actually illuminate which is pretty cool 20-in wheels in the front 21s in the rear six piston Brembo brakes 265 mm tires in the front 295 in the rear it comes on multi-link rear suspension double Wishbone front suspension with air Springs and adjustable ride height control coming around to the rear of the Grand Turismo really cool split quad exhaust bigger rear diffuser Gran Turismo badge and the largest rear trunk of any Grand Turismo with 11 cubic feet of storage this is actually pretty practical honestly the interior of the new Maserati Gran Turismo is extremely nice this red color looks fantastic the seats are super luxurious comfortable and supportive and I love this steering wheel let's hop inside to turn on the Gran Turismo we've got a start stop button right here and it's also got a drive mode selector on the right so right now we are in GT mode if we go ahead and scroll through that'll put us into sport mode notice the instrument cluster changes slightly as does this display over there we can scroll into Corsa mode which only the tropo version has more intense stiffer suspension limited stability control Etc and I love the fact that this instrument cluster is customizable you can actually go through different options right here if you go ahead and click on this you can go to Cluster layout and select from a few different instrument cluster configurations which is pretty cool if you put it into Corsa mode it only has this one right here now we've got a 12 12.3 in touchscreen display here and an 8.8 in touchcreen down here if we go through some of the different configurations one of my favorite things is the drive mode Explorer right here you can see how the different driving modes actually affect the car's handling so in Corsa mode it shows you this graph of responsiveness stiffness acceleration if we put it back into Comfort mode it'll show you a different range of performance characteristics now another thing I really like is if we go into performance right there and go ahead and click drag race you can also do acceleration statistics calculate the 0 to 60 0 to 1004 mile 8th mile Etc which is pretty cool you can also see a power split between the front and rear now coming down here 8.8 in touchscreen for the climate controls but if you click on this clock right here you can actually change what's displayed on this right here so you can choose a clock which looks pretty cool but you can also make it a compass or pedal so if I'm on the brake it shows that if I'm on the gas it shows that as well as a g meter we've got some storage space in here which is pretty nice I like that it is finished in matte so it doesn't get fingerprints we've also got a charging pad right here some cup holders you can even remove this to have a larger cup holder now in here we have additional storage space USBC usba as well as a Cigarette Outlet which is pretty nice a lockin glove box and I just love the design of the speaker system it's also cool that this is digital as well when you turn the car off that goes away now something that was a little bit complicated at first to figure out is how do you turn on the headlights if they're not on the automatic setting there's no controls over here you actually go to this screen here click on that and you can turn on auto or off Etc now we also have ambient lighting controls you can choose between Warm Neutral and cold it comes out right there really nice speaker system as well overall I absolutely love the interior you can actually fit a full-sized adult in the back for short trips it's not actually that bad I love the column mounted paddles made of aluminum they look fantastic and they feel great to pull on all right let's take it out for a drive and see what it's like all right guys behind the wheel of the Maserati Grand Turismo tropo now and with that all-wheel drive this thing has so much grip and a shocking amount of confidence behind the wheel and that Nuno twin turbo six-cylinder has so much mid-range torque you can really really push this thing through Twi tight twisty roads you can really really push this thing through tight twisty roads to an impressive degree now obviously the big change between this and the predecessor is the fact that it no longer has a naturally aspirated V8 and while a V8 would sound much better it definitely wouldn't have this mid-range torque it also has cylinder deactivation so you can turn off a full Bank of cylinders on this Nuno engine to get best-in-class fuel economy now I'd prefer a naturally aspirated 9,000 RPM V8 something like the 458 Special motor in the front of the car but obviously moving forward with electric cars and downsize boosted engines this is the way of the future and the Nuno does feel awesome it actually sounds pretty good as well it's got good character to it it makes some good noises on upshifts and it's got a nice tone to it when you're fully on the gas now let's go ahead and change the driving mode right now using the drive select mode here although I I want to explain something first when we're in Corsa mode we've actually got a suspension button right here where you can change it from sport to handling mode and then if we're in sport mode you can change it from sport to comfort mode so now we're in sport mode Chang the display here as well as the instrument cluster and then let's put it all the way into Comfort mode driving this thing in Comfort mode we're going to put it into drive right now it is very comfortable and relaxing it's easy to drive it's a fantastic GT car you could daily drive this 11 cubic feet of storage in the back it's got the biggest Trunk by a significant margin of any Grand Turismo visibility is fantastic we've got a mirror that's either conventional here or if you flip it like that it is a digital mirror as well using a camera system which is pretty cool visibility is great suspension super smooth isolated from the outside world you've got awesome Creature Comforts such as Wireless Apple carplay and wired Apple carplay the sound system is fantastic the displays work really well the graphics are really nice it's just a pleasurable car to be in you could daily drive this and then also when you kick it up a notch it is a pretty darn good sports car car so let's go ahead and bring it back into Corsa mode shall we I like how the instrument cluster changes there we've also got an optional heads up display that when you're in Corsa mode it's got this horizontal layout for the tachometer I'm not quite sure if you can see that uh on the camera or not but it looks really cool and it reminds me of the mc20 instrument cluster which is pretty awesome man the gear changes are really fast on up shifts the downshifts lag a little bit but not to a degree where it annoys me I mean this isn't a full-fledged sports car like the mc20 now surprisingly this does cost nearly as much as the mc20 and in my opinion I think I'd significantly rather have the mc20 obviously it's less practical of a car but if they're priced the same it's kind of a no-brainer for somebody like me however it's to entirely different buyers in my opinion I guess you could have both to be honest you could have this as honestly a daily driver and the mc20 as a weekend car You' definitely have two of the sexiest cars ever but if I had to pick one or the other even though they're not really competitors given the similar price tags I would go with the mc20 that being said I think what would be potentially an even cooler daily driver would be the full Gore It's just as good looking as this in fact it looks basically the exact same it's got 818 horsepower 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds all electric range of 280 Mi that is the car to get in my opinion and I definitely want to review one but if you're not quite ready to adopt the electric powertrain this thing is an awesome daily driver it's an awesome sports car it really does everything pretty darn well steering wheel feels great in your hands the massive aluminum paddles are fantastic I'm starting to like this engine more and more as I get used to it man it's quick and the torque feels instantaneous I mean that dual chamber ignition Formula 1 technology with two spark plugs per cylinder gives pretty insane throttle response woo yeah the tuning of this engine has been done so well all right well I hope you guys enjoyed today's video like always please browse the channel and subscribe I'm going to leave you with some Nuno goodness light gravity ohhow's it going guys today
