The Importance of Quality and Maintenance in Car Repairs
When it comes to car repairs, quality is key. A well-maintained vehicle can last for years with minimal issues, while a poorly maintained one may require expensive repairs down the road. As we go through our day-to-day lives, we often take our cars for granted, assuming they'll continue to run smoothly without any problems. However, neglecting regular maintenance and repairs can lead to costly surprises.
One of the most common mistakes car owners make is ignoring noise issues. A loud whining or grinding sound from under the hood can be a sign of a serious problem, such as a low coolant level or a faulty power steering pump. In the case of a 2012 Ford Focus, the owner reported that their coolant reservoir was consistently running low after a few weeks. This is often caused by a leak in the cooling system, which can be fixed with a simple repair. However, if left unchecked, it can lead to serious damage and costly repairs.
In some cases, noise issues may not be immediately apparent. For example, an older Honda Accord owner reported that their car was making a whiny noise when turning the steering wheel. Despite checking the power steering fluid, they couldn't identify the source of the problem. A common culprit in these situations is the power steering pump, which can develop leaks or wear out over time. In this case, it's essential to check the pump regularly and replace it if necessary.
Another critical aspect of car maintenance is fuel system upkeep. A 2000 S10 owner reported that their gasoline pressure was building up slowly, despite having recently replaced the fuel pump, filter, and regulator. This issue can be caused by a variety of factors, including a faulty fuel pump or regulator, a leak in the fuel system, or even a kinked fuel line. In this case, it's essential to check all these potential causes and perform any necessary repairs.
Regular maintenance is crucial to preventing costly repairs down the road. By checking our cars regularly and addressing any issues promptly, we can avoid many of the problems that arise from neglecting car repairs. As a general rule, it's always better to err on the side of caution and seek professional help if we're unsure about what's wrong with our vehicle.
In conclusion, maintaining our cars properly is essential for preventing costly repairs and ensuring their longevity. By checking our vehicles regularly and addressing any issues promptly, we can avoid many of the problems that arise from neglecting car repairs. Whether it's a loud whining noise or slow-building gasoline pressure, there are often simple solutions to these problems that can be addressed with basic maintenance and repair work.
If you're experiencing issues with your car, don't hesitate to seek professional help. Replacing parts such as the power steering pump or fuel system components is often necessary when neglecting repairs. Always opt for new parts instead of rebuilt ones, as they are designed to last longer and provide better performance. Additionally, consider consulting a mechanic if you're unsure about what's wrong with your vehicle.
In the case of a Honda Accord owner who experienced issues with their car, it was essential to check all possible causes before making any repairs. A kinked fuel line was discovered as the source of the problem, and replacing this part resolved the issue. By taking the time to diagnose and address the problem promptly, they were able to avoid more extensive and costly repairs.
Similarly, when dealing with an older car, it's essential to be proactive about maintenance and repair work. Regular checks can help identify potential problems before they become major issues, saving us time and money in the long run. By prioritizing our cars' health and taking care of any issues promptly, we can ensure their continued reliability and performance.
Overall, maintaining our cars properly is crucial for preventing costly repairs and ensuring their longevity.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrun up your engine there's 140 yards here we talking about how Nissan's don't make such great cars just the problems that they've had well it turns out that Nissan's profit has sank 73 percent for the first half of 2019 they're saying it's an aged product portfolio nice I'm dudes they're trying to say it so it's because we need to upgrade it it's an aged portfolio hey no why don't you ask Scotty I'll tell you Church it's cuz you make junk and people are watching it up and then I hid junk anymore cuz they buy it they see they have problems they fall apart the transmissions are no good the engines blow head gaskets they just don't hold up over time no it's not an aging portfolio anything the stuff that Nissan made decades ago when our Datsun and then up to the late 90s never making some pretty good bulletproof cars but not anymore look look yourself in the mirror and don't think or portfolio say no it's not that your portfolios age and since you're making junk that's why people are finally wise it up to it maybe more people are listening to me it's a Scottie said don't buy any Sun so I won't buy one but they can't buy me out have me say the cars are good because they aren't there we go maybe Jam can't make cars that hold up that well but they certainly aren't into the bling their design Chief Michael Simcoe said in a podcast recently that GM is going to make 26 inch wheels on some of the cars because of the stylishness I guess they came up with making reliable vehicles one chemical and the other going strictly for style I mean Chrysler's been doing it for decades do they make very stylish cars they didn't hold up over time but you know they look cool now if you look at it from a mechanical standpoint it's actually a big mistake cuz large reels mean there's more weight for the engine to turn lower fuel efficiency it actually has a little bit less acceleration power because a smaller wheel it can spin them faster easier and they often deteriorate the ride quality they get too big they're just too big and clunky there's too much mass moving up and down yet bumps so the ride and the cornering ability degraded a bit too but there's GM talking about yeah they're gonna put out 26 inch wheels because it's good to me hey maybe Jim should jump and a car missus get into the art business make paintings that they can sell for a million dollars and sculptures that look beautiful cuz the sculptures don't have to actually do anything and they don't have to transport you around me but Julius says man find a good cars like looking for a needle haystack I'm looking for a Taylor Sian I keep finding Junkers every time I look well welcome to the real world things are not often easy if you want to do one right yes to some extent the old truism is corrected hey don't buy somebody's used car you buying somebody else's problem a lot of times people are selling cars because it has a problem or it's been wrecked and it's a piece of junk and it looks horrible there are good cars out there realize that you know you can use Craigslist you want to try to thin the Craigslist out cuz I'm Craigslist today there's a lotta used-car Lots and they sell their stuff on Craigslist don't use somebody let's say his name's Joe Smith Joel say selling a car you get there turns out the titles not even in his name and he's actually selling it for a used car lot so it's called bird-dogging he gets a percentage when it's sold but when you call people like that up ask them it's the title in your name they say no you don't even look at the car you don't waste your time looking for it that way you'll not waste as much time as possible because there's a lot of illegal people like that selling stuff for somebody else and their name's not even on a title so that's the first thing you'd ask for that but there are good cars out there the problem is you know you gotta find it with a Toyota or Scion most of their customers are pretty loyal maybe you can find a guy to join the army and he's gotta sell his car some older person that can't drive anymore on the austere license or you know they're going in an old folks home they don't need a car anymore look for stuff like that hope you can find one I'm in love instead Scotty I bought it all on camera Ali force under 123 thousand miles I find it was made in Kentucky ideal or quality that Japanese counterparts they're pretty well made I had one night a camry station wagon years ago that was made in Kentucky Cho vert for ten years then gave it to my first son to learn how to drive then gave it to my second son to learn how to drive and they beat the heck out of it was still running that I sold it to a girl who joined the Peace Corps she drove me to California and I don't know what happened to it after that so I was a well made vehicle I'll give them that now I do it to say the ones made Japan seem to have a little bit higher quality that Camry did rattle a little bit more and some of the other ones do there's no decent built vehicles you know but like I always say if you want to buy a car buy it from the people who regionally make it you want a German car get one made in Germany it only makes sense because that's where they started that's where their workforce was based and that's where they almost always make the best vehicles Scott Janice says I got a question recently I changed my pants and I want to turn the wheel it makes a squeak noise sometimes when I brake - you probably his cheap brake pads Jeep brake pads can work fine they'll stop your car sometimes you'll even stop your car better because they're harder they'll last longer they're real hard and they stop but they do have a tendency making noise if you really hate noise you could buy whatever pads you want if you're gonna change the rotors cuz then you got new pads on new rotors and they don't squeak rotors are expensive in some cars it's a pain to change from my experience if you take your old pads off and the old rotors don't have gouges in them and when you'd hit the brake on 6065 the steering wheel doesn't shudder that means their warped if it shudders you could just change the pads and get no noise if you use quality brake pads now from my experience I like the Akebono and ke Bo a now it's a Japanese company and they make brake pads for many cars I have had many customers myself and they said well I don't want to change the rotors but I like noise I said well the exact kimono pads I can put them on and generally they won't make any noise at all even though your rotors are kind of messed up and I say okay and I'll put them on it they won't make any noise I did one on a Ford Explorer that the rotors have kinds of gouges and stuff on them but when I put those on they make any noise because they're a real quality band that's what you want when you do a great job if you care about noise now if you don't care about noise you can buy just about anything and it'll stop the car for jerk meats not Scotty I got a 2012 Ford Focus I see I can see where you have the name - my coolant reservoir gets long a couple of weeks but it does not repeat what should I do well if you didn't keep filling it back up it would overheat using Kuhlman whenever you're losing : you gotta figure out I've got a great video called how to fix an overheating car engine watch that video it explains every possible thing first just change the radiator cap maybe it's leaking if it loses pressure you're gonna lose coolant simple it's not that have a guy pressure test it with this pressure testing machine see if there's a leak somewhere start with the simple stuff and work your way up and of course the absolute worst thing is and that's a Ford Focus and it can often happen to them is the head gasket starts leaking the very last thing in that video shows how you can get one of these little testers Amazon sells in for about thirty bucks that are blocked leak test or to see if you have a head gasket blown and if you do on a 2012 focus my advice is get rid of that thing fast because you don't want to tear the engine down on that plastic junky design everything breaks when you start taking on a part the plastic and carry the engine apart you're gonna cost you well over a thousand bucks it's not worth doin if that's the case but test don't guess well maybe juice says I got an old weight Honda cord it makes a whiny noise on that corner I checked the power steering fluid it's totally full what could be wrong well theoretically there's a few things that it could be but that's that's an older Honda Accord and for my experience of them it's always the power steering pump is making the whiny they just do that if the noise doesn't drive you nuts and you're not losing any fluid keep checking it cuz low on fluid or wine but if you do that and you don't find any leaks you live with it if it's tears okay but if it starts binding when it's steering then you got to replace the pump that's Justin's design flaw knows a quart I have changed out dozens of power steering pumps on those things over the years some of the people just didn't like the noise and some of the people said oh yeah it's starting to bind and it would bind and when I put a new pump on it fix the whole thing and if you do change the pump take my advice do not put it on a rebuild pump rebuild power steering pumps are often junk they can put out 1500 psi and higher nobody rebuilds them all that well get a new one if you're gonna change your pump on there thinking a new one because I've had a lot of people buy rebuilt one to lose on just a lot of times they whine to even though that's probably the old one they don't one wants to cause it's just rebuilt it's not brand new so go brand new if you have to change during your age sixty one says my gasoline pressure builds up slowly on a 2000 s10 2.2 liter me with a full gasps I've changed the fuel pump fuel filter still doing it even the fuel pressure regulator what could it be well you changed everything that needs to be changed that normally fixes it one did you use an original equipment fuel pump because if you didn't the aftermarket once or jam or often cramp I've seen guys go to a discount auto parts store double I want to cost 1/3 of what the original corporate one does and the car never runs right so it couldn't just be the bad pump same thing with the fuel pressure regulator you changed the but if you got a cheap one a lot of times they're not working if those parts are all good either you've got a leak somewhere like if a fuel injector is leaking it's gonna bleed off pressure so it'll take a long time to build up check that and the other thing is very commonly something that's would you say mm that takes 20 years old all right the fuel line's either get bant or kink that restricts the pressure and it takes a long time for the pressure to build up I had a car like that once man took me days I couldn't figure out what's wrong finally i jacqueline on trace and trace finally I saw under one part it hit something a fuel line was kink 2 been in and that was problem had to replace that section check that too so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remembering to ring that Bell\n"
