**A Day Out with Zach: Adventures in Richmond**
In the afternoon, Zach arrived in his hatchback to invite me for a meal. After some casual conversation, we set off toward our destination. It was an exceptionally lovely day outside—77 degrees in Virginia, where summer humidity usually makes it feel unbearable. This warm, non-humid day felt perfect.
As we drove, Zach mentioned how strange it felt that summer was winding down. Passing by the pool, he expressed sadness at the approaching cold weather. He admitted that while he once loved winter as a child because of snow, Virginia's cold often brings mere light snowfalls, making driving difficult and出行 inconvenient.
We slowed down for an intersection, noticing the ever-present police cars. Zach humorously noted how this never gets old. As we approached his childhood neighborhood—Hickory Grove—a small area with two cul-de-sacs—he shared that he lived there from age 3 to 11 before moving to his current family home.
Noticing a large police cruiser, Zach joked about it "breaking somebody's neck." We then met up with friends Chandler and Tyler at Five Guys for dinner. Afterward, we returned to my house, where we decided to wash the car using a two-bucket system: one for soap and water, the other for rinsing. Avoiding dirt in the mitt was crucial.
Others joined—Hunter in his BMW 335i, Maya with her Subaru WRX, and Luke with his S2000. We started by washing Zach's hatchback, then moved on to the others. Chandler wanted to test Plasti Dip on his Mustang emblem, so I volunteered for the quick trial.
During this time, we also encountered puppies, which can distract anyone from everything. After spending time with neighbors and engaging in more small talk, we headed out for dinner to close the night.
