Microsoft Has Officially Gone Back on Their Word: The Xbox One's New DRM-Free Policy
As of today, Microsoft has officially gone back on their word regarding the Xbox One's always-online requirements. This decision comes as a surprise to many gamers who had already made up their minds about purchasing either the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. However, instead of abandoning the Xbox brand altogether, Microsoft is taking steps to address the concerns of their customers.
The list of changes that has been released by Microsoft describes everything that the Xbox one can apparently do from this day forward. This includes no more always-online requirements, the console no longer having to check in every 24 hours, and all game discs working on Xbox One as they do on the Xbox 360. Another significant change is the removal of authentication, which means that customers will no longer be required to log in every time they play a game. Additionally, an internet connection is only necessary when initially setting up the console.
Furthermore, Microsoft has also announced that all downloaded games will function the same whether online or offline, with no additional restrictions on trading games or loaning discs. This is a huge relief for many gamers who were concerned about the Xbox One's restrictive policies. The final change is the removal of region locks, which means that customers from anywhere in the world can now purchase and play games without any geographical restrictions.
While some may view this decision as a betrayal by Microsoft, it's clear that they have listened to their customers' concerns and are taking steps to address them. In fact, it's a smart business decision to go back on their word now rather than later. The Xbox One was already experiencing significant sales due to the PlayStation 4's more relaxed policies regarding DRM.
As someone who is usually optimistic about new technology, I have to say that Microsoft has made an honest mistake many other companies have done before them. However, it's refreshing to see a company take responsibility for their mistakes and make changes to ensure customer satisfaction. This alone is going to turn the sales of the Xbox One around and cement its place as one of the top gaming consoles on the market.
The PlayStation 4 will likely continue to be a popular choice among gamers who are looking for a more relaxed gaming experience, but the Xbox One is now an attractive option for those who value flexibility and freedom. Whether you're sticking with the PS4 or choosing the Xbox One, it's clear that both consoles are going to offer an incredible gaming experience.
Personally, I'm excited to get my hands on the Xbox One and experience all that it has to offer. As someone who has been a huge Xbox brand fan for years, it would be devastating to see the Xbox One fail. However, with this new policy change, I have no doubt that the Xbox One will thrive and become one of the top consoles on the market.
I want to thank all of my viewers for their continued support, which means the world to me. Without your engagement and feedback, I wouldn't be able to create content that you enjoy. Please keep posting your comments below and let's keep this debate civil and respectful.

by this Xbox One's restrictions don't affect me personally they just don't honestly but I do realize these restrictions can affect thousands upon thousands of Gamers who were honestly disappointed and let down in Microsoft for announcing this horrible news because it's face said if you're in the Army Navy and whatever and or you just don't have a constant connection like I do or whatever then yes you cannot play the Xbox one as intended but as of today Microsoft has officially gone back on their word and I'm going to go by this list that I saw on giant bomb.com you know News website now this list describes everything apparently that the Xbox one can apparently do from this day forward so tis with a grain of salt but the fact is DRM is gone for the most part all right so anyway jumping into the list number one no more always Online requirements number two the console no longer has to check in every 24 hours number three all game discs will work on Xbox one as they do on the Xbox 360 number four authentication is no longer necessary number five an internet connection is only required when initially setting up the console that makes sense to set up your Xbox Live account that's really not a big deal at all next one all downloaded games will function the same when online or offline no additional restrictions on trading games or loaning discs that alone is huge and finally last but not least region locks have been dropped boom there it is now I'm sure I'm going to see a lot of people saying David Microsoft has already screwed us over well yeah you can look at it that way however the way I looked at it is well you know cuz I'm usually optimistic is well Microsoft made an honest mistake many other companies have done this before now yes this may probably be one of the biggest gaming mistakes in history but hey at least Microsoft is listening to their customers they're going back on their word and honestly I give them 100% propped for that this alone is going to turn so many sales for so many customers cuz let's face it a lot of people were obviously already going for the PS4 because of the Z Z DRM well I shouldn't even say zero zero DRM cuz there's going to be DRM in games no matter what whether you're on PC PS4 Xbox One Wii U it's something you just can't avoid but the Xbox One is a lot less DRM restricted today than it was yesterday okay guys so I want your opinion are you sticking with the PlayStation 4 and not going with the Xbox One at all or are you going with purely just the Xbox One and not the PlayStation 4 at all or are you like me and you're a freaking very passionate gamer and you need both consoles and yes I say need but come on let's be honest I mean you can't just ignore One console at least in my opinion you got to get experiences from both well all three I should say including the Wii U however I will say Xbox one is still first on my list I have it pre-ordered I've had it pre-ordered for a couple weeks now I have no regrets the PlayStation 4 will eventually be pre-ordered especially that it's $100 or less price tag isn't really a huge issue with me from going 400 to 500 now if the Xbox one was maybe $700 then yeah I will definitely not be buying one on day one that's just that's a lot of money I'm just really really excited for Microsoft and I I just give them complete 100% props for going back on the word because I look at it as a smart business decision where you backpedal now before it's too late because let's face it it's only June and if they were going to wait till August or September or even October to say Oh wait we're changing our DRM restrictions then yeah you can definitely say it's too late but the fact that it's only June that's awesome and it gives customers plenty of time to decide between the PS4 or Xbox One or like I'm going to do anyway just get both anyway I just want to make this video real quick again this news could not be 100% final I'm just going by what things I've read on various websites already including Giant Bomb polygon TechnoBuffalo all those awesome websites but still from what I can tell Microsoft seems to be going the right direction now and I'm just really excited that the Xbox one should be selling well um from this point forward because like I said I'm a huge Xbox brand fan and I just it would honestly kill me to see the Xbox One fail because I love the Xbox brand that much I've been a original Xbox One user Xbox original user that's kind of weird to say since what 2001 it came out I think it's been a very long time anyway guys let me know what you think post your comments below and again please I always ask that we keep this debate clean and civil and there's no need to hate on anyone because let's face it both consoles are going to be down right amazing and we're lucky to even have the choice nowadays thanks again guys your continued support means the world to me and I'll see you in tomorrow's video peaceholy that's all
