**Unboxing and Review: May to V6 Smartphone**
For those unfamiliar with the brand May, they are actually pretty popular in the beauty space, making some really popular beauty apps as well as some stylish smartphones. Their latest and probably the best one is the V6, which has just arrived on our doorstep. First thing you'll notice about this phone is its irregular shape, reminding me of the excellent selfie camera from Fasho a few years ago. But that's not all, this phone is more than just a phone - it's a fashion statement, an accessory you can add to your OOTD (outfit of the day). The back of the phone features hand-stitched calfskin leather and 18k gold-plated ribbons, making it a true luxury smartphone.
The V6 comes in four colors: Edinburgh Blue, Melbourne Green, Monaco Pink, and Rotterdam Orange, all travel-themed. I have to admit, when I first saw the orange one, I wasn't too fond of it. But, as time went by, I grew to appreciate its boldness and uniqueness. This phone is definitely a statement piece, and everyone notices it. Why don't we move on to the features that have me excited about this phone? The V6 boasts four cameras, with the same specs on each side. Photos taken using the main cameras will look pretty much the same when you take them upfront, thanks to the depth effect feature that allows you to adjust the blur settings.
One of the features I really enjoyed is the special movie mode. My shots can be more cinematic and professional-looking, which is perfect for vlogging or taking stunning selfies. The beauty mode is also a standout feature, with options ranging from one to seven. However, be warned - the airbrushing effect can be too much, even at just one setting. I was able to get by with using it sparingly, but I'm sure some users may find it too intense.
In addition to its impressive camera capabilities, the V6 also comes pre-installed with a lot of May apps, including photo editors and filters. These are actually pretty fun to use, and I found myself downloading them on my own. One of my favorites is an app that allows you to add makeup and change your hair color - it's so easy to use! The Bluetooth shutter feature pairs seamlessly with the phone, making it a breeze to transfer photos.
But what about everyday usability? The V6 proves itself to be a capable daily driver, with features like face unlock being surprisingly accurate. The fingerprint sensor is also on point, and NFC and Android Beam make transferring files or data between devices a breeze. Gaming on this phone is smooth, with no lag or crash issues - even when playing demanding games.
Battery life is another major plus, lasting a whole day's worth of use, even with heavy usage like browsing social media and working on the phone. However, there is one notable exception: Snapchat. The app just shuts down every time I try to use my Air Bitmoji. It's not necessarily May's fault, as Snapchat isn't optimized for thousands of Android devices out there.
In conclusion, whether or not the V6 from May is your gadget match depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you're looking for a luxury smartphone with impressive camera capabilities and features like beauty mode, then this phone is definitely worth considering. But if you're on a budget or just need a basic daily driver, it may not be the best choice.
Ultimately, the V6 is more than just a phone - it's an accessory that can elevate your OOTD game and provide stunning selfies. With its unique design, impressive camera capabilities, and luxurious feel, this phone is perfect for those who want to step up their self-care routine and stay on top of their style. The price tag may be steep at $800, but if you're looking for a high-end smartphone that checks all the right boxes, then May's V6 is definitely worth considering.
