Acura NSX Review!-The Japanese Legend

I'll never forget my first encounter with the NSX. When I was younger, I wasn't exactly sold on it. In fact, I might have been a bit dismissive - who needs a supercar with only 200 horsepower? But now that I've had the privilege of driving one in these woods, I can confidently say that my opinion has changed completely.

Driving an NSX is a whole different experience. The car's quietness and smoothness are truly exceptional. When you're cruising around town, it's like driving a luxurious, exotic vehicle - without being too showy or over-the-top. Japanese in origin, some might argue that the NSX isn't exactly exotic, but to me, it's a unique experience that sets it apart from other cars.

One of the things that struck me most about the NSX was how roomy it feels inside. As an average height individual, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the cabin is - and when compared to other supercars in its class, it's downright generous. And then there's the interior itself: incredibly focused on the driver, with simple gauges and a fantastic factory shifter that has won my heart.

Of course, what really sets the NSX apart is its engineering. With only 2,800 pounds of weight, this car is a dream to drive - especially for those who know how to handle a stick shift (I'm still getting used to it, by the way!). The aluminum construction makes you feel every little detail, and that's part of what makes driving an NSX so exhilarating. Well, almost - there is one quirk: if you shift out of VTEC at just the wrong time, the car can bog down a bit. But with practice comes mastery, and soon enough you'll be shifting like a pro.

Speaking of which, navigating these winding woods was an absolute blast. The NSX handled every turn with ease - no bumping or bouncing; just smooth, confident acceleration around each curve. And when I finally got the chance to take on that particularly tricky corner... well, let's just say my heart was in my throat for a split second.

One of the things I loved most about driving an NSX is its visibility. Sitting behind the wheel means you have perfect sightlines - and with a windshield that drops down neatly into view, there's no getting lost or caught off guard. When cruising through cobblestone streets (or any rough roads for that matter), I was genuinely impressed by how well the NSX handled bumps and irregularities.

Finally, it's worth noting just how long those gears are - which means you've got plenty of time to rev up before VTEC kicks in. And let me tell you: when it does, the power comes flooding through. Revving all the way up to 8,000 rpm is an experience like no other, and I found myself completely lost in the moment (while also being acutely aware of my surroundings - whoops).

If anyone's listening, I'll just say that I've developed a bit of a crush on this car. I mean, who wouldn't? The NSX is truly something special, and I feel like I'm still pinching myself to see if it was all just a dream. For now, though, I'm happy to bask in the glow of my new favorite car - and I have Vernon (the owner) to thank for letting me take this beauty out for a spin.

So there you have it - my review of the NSX. If you're like me, you might be wondering why more Japanese manufacturers aren't producing rear-wheel drive sports cars like this one. The truth is, it's hard to replicate the magic that Honda has captured here. And another reason is that driving an NSX is just so darn easy - even for those who are new to stick shifts (like me!).

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some more time behind the wheel of this incredible car...

motor in this car is a v6 with 270 horsepower and 210 foot-pounds of torque and let me tell you it's the fastest feeling 270 horsepower I've ever felt like I got to ride in it earlier today and you're like it's only 270 horsepower but it looks so exotic you know it looks so intense but then you take a ride in it and it's so smooth it's like the sound it makes wait for v-tach there we go oh yeah chorus 50:50 weight distribution because of the mid-engine setup and with that when you go around bendy roads like I am right now it's so so flawless I mean I don't the way it kind of makes me feel when it comes to pushing it through corners it's almost like a Miata when that wood has that perfect balance you have a lot of confidence and there's no power steering either it's completely analog and the car is completely focused the clutch is kind of tricky it's not as bad as a lot of performance cars sorry I had to do like a wait pause I had to listen to it now a lot of people when they get in cars like this they feel intimidated you know since has such a history its prestigious and if they ever get to drive one they don't want to push it at all which is totally understandable this one in particular because of how original it is this one is number 65 off the production line 65 so zero zero six five so the flip I've headlight ones are almost the more sought-after ones VTEC get for good reason you have almost the 90s nostalgia well at the same time the performance is just so good now when I first learned about the NSX when I was younger I'm not gonna lie I was kind of a I don't know not a jerk about it but I was like it's a supercar and it only has 200 horsepower that doesn't make any sense to me but now that I'm in these woods it makes absolute complete sense I mean you got to realize that you're driving a car that Senna helped produce so it's going to be good it's quiet and I don't mean that a negative way when you're cruising around town it's the smoothest smoothest I guess you could say exotic I have ever been in yeah it's Japanese some people are going to say it's not exotic but to me it's exotic but when you cruise down the road some people who are taller like the owner of this car Vernon who also has the Viper set on a long road trip you'd feel a little claustrophobic but for somebody who's an average height like me five eight five nine it's it's very almost roomy for what kind of car it is and another good thing is that the interior is incredibly focused it's a driver's car everybody knows that the driver's car it's what makes the car so great so gauges are simple shifter is my favorite factory shifter I think since the s2000 and also it also makes me sad that Honda hasn't made another rear-wheel drive sports car this thing is so good it makes me so sad that they don't make more of this stuff another reason why the car is so easy to drive is its weight its 2800 pounds 2,800 pounds it's so easy to drive I can't express it enough if you know how to drive a stick-shift you can drive in NSX entire car is aluminum so you really feel the lightweight materials and that's other thing the only thing is is when you do like say a first a second shift if you shift it at just the wrong time and it drops out of VTEC you kind of bog a little bit but that's something you got to get used to another thing well god this corner I got to do this corner put you through oh my gosh and see I'm not ruining it about anybody's day it's not too loud it sounds awesome because it's right behind your head so it's no wonder has such a good reputation I never got the privilege to even ride in one and now I'm all about it I am about it but another awesome thing is the view when you sit in this seat you have perfect visibility the nose drops right down you might seem like it's a long nose but so you sit in it it's easy it's easy to drive you see everything the windshield is nice and big your visibility is good for a mid mid-engine sports car see how quiet it is and then of cobblestone okay I was expecting to be bouncing all over the place but it's handle it really well now remember guys I'm in Pittsburgh right now and no offense to all my Pittsburgh friends but your old roads are terrible they're terrible and in the NSX they're not so terrible well first you drive it in those and you're driving and in the sex and second you go over a bump and you don't even feel it it's really fantastic basically another cool thing about it is the gears are very very long so the power band you can go around corners and just kind of work your way through and then when VTEC kicks in you're ready and second gear goes all the way to 80 freakin miles an hour so you're revving all the way to 8,000 rpm it's pretty intoxicated it is a five-speed so there's no six-speed but I mean with the gears as long as they are like I said it doesn't really matter and it's a Honda so the gas mileage isn't that bad at all now if you guys might hear this this old chirp noise the car came with a built-in radar detector I wonder who this car was peeling to keep going keep going keep going keep going keep going keep going I still had 4000 rpm left I was a roll-on from third gear I used to drag your back in high school i won yeah this makes you smile smiles per gallon always alright guys I want to thank you all so much for watching this quick little review video it was very much of a pleasure driving in sx my first time and it was something i will not forget it was the hype is real with these absolutely and I want to thank Vernon so much for letting me drive this car and also let me stay here up in Pittsburgh with it so I will see you guys next time and take it easy have a good one I'm going to have fun driving this now for like five more
