The BMW is in good hands now...

A Project Completed: Installing Bride Rails with Sliders and Overcoming Installation Challenges

I recently completed a project that was both exciting and frustrating at the same time. The goal was to install bride rails with sliders in my car, which would provide a safe and secure way for my wife to get in and out of the vehicle. I had chosen these rails specifically because they had the slider welded on, making installation relatively easy.

The process started off smoothly, but things took a turn when we put the seat all the way forward and realized that my wife couldn't reach the pedals. This was a major issue, as it would be difficult for her to drive the car safely in this configuration. To overcome this challenge, I decided to make some modifications to the sliders. The solution involved drilling two new holes in the slider brackets, allowing me to slide them slightly farther forward and create enough space for my wife to reach the pedals.

I was pleased that this simple fix resolved the issue, and I couldn't believe how straightforward it had been once I realized what needed to be done. This experience taught me the importance of careful planning and attention to detail when working on car modifications. With a clear understanding of the problem, I was able to come up with a practical solution that would work for my specific situation.

In addition to this project, I also recently acquired some new garage equipment, including a vice that Alberto had sent me. While I haven't yet found the perfect spot to install it in my garage, I'm excited to have this tool at my disposal and look forward to using it in future projects. The garage has become a bit crowded lately, but it's a small price to pay for having all these tools and parts at my fingertips.

I've been working on my car for years, and while some projects have been more straightforward than others, I've always approached them with enthusiasm and determination. This latest project was no exception, and I'm proud of how it turned out. It's moments like these that remind me why I love tinkering with cars – the sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that comes from creating something with my own hands is unbeatable.

As we head into the weekend, I'll be attending an event at Sebring called Face Off, which promises to be a fun and exciting experience. The event features a variety of car-related activities, including solocom, tandem comm, and a car show. While I'm not sure whether I'll enter the solo comp or the tandem come competition, I'm looking forward to seeing all the other cars and meeting new people who share my passion for automotive enthusiasts.

One thing that's been on my mind lately is trying out my air bags, which are designed specifically for my truck. The thought of rolling around with my truck in a controlled environment sounds like a blast, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to put it into practice. For now, I'm just looking forward to getting back behind the wheel and seeing how these new features perform.

To wrap up the article, I've included some footage of the gameplay from a racing game, where I'll be doing a solo run in my virtual car. While this isn't exactly what I'll be doing with my real car, it's good practice for getting used to the feel of drifting and handling different situations. The outside car view is always cool to watch, and I think it's a great way to appreciate the skills and techniques involved in driving at high speeds.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enit's been a while we're backing a BMW which can only be a good thing because we're actually taking it to psi over in Winter Park and the prep for the single turbo will begin feels weird driving the BMW when I've been driving the gt350 around a lot of people don't like that stiffness but me personally I do car feels a lot smaller definitely a lot harder to drive smoothly with just the way that this clutch feels I know I've said this a few times but I can't express how excited I am to finally be able to work with psi they've been involved with all the coolest projects in the Central Florida area that have like anything to do with BMW or Porsches so I've always been a big fan even before I moved to Florida so alright so we just got to psi all right I lost the screen right second guys had to take a quick photo in front of the signature psi wall gonna walk around give you guys a little tour of the office but we'll do some more going into detail once I come back and we can read even a single turbo took a quick pit stop by triple-a and we got our international drivers permits so we can get a rental car in Japan I bet you guys can't guess my least favorite part about driving Nicole's car teams are highly unnecessary I've never seen a place that has 87 88 89 91 and 93 85 I think people are they're gonna buy the cheapest fuel or they're gonna buy a 93 I don't know about maybe they'll buy a 91 I really want 88 would you look what we have here the S 15 s getting gassed up and ready for its final journey over to an juku I'm sure you guys are curious what this thing sounds like it's not too pretty but it makes noises I don't know what that noise is but it doesn't matter hi let's hear it I'm kind of scared it sounds so deadly I'm just bring this thing over the warehouse so I can get ready to load it up in the trailer so when I bring it over to Andrew it's all ready to go I've told you guys a million times how much I hate dealing with seats installing bucket seats sliders specifically are such a pain what are we doing now so I got those sweet bride rails that have the slider welded on which was sick super super easy to install but I put them in a closed car and all the way forward she couldn't reach the pedals now I got the seat a little bit lower so we weren't hitting our heads on the ceiling but how useless is it if she can't reach the pedals in her own car so what I did I'm very very simple this is with the slider in the full forward position the drilled holes that come in it it has the brackets like this so basically what I did it I just drilled two new holes so I could just slide it slightly farther forward which should be enough for her to hit the pedals annoying that didn't just work right out of the box but rather simple fix garage is starting to get a little packed these two would send Alberto this really nice vice for me to put in the garage but I haven't really found a spot that I want to put it yet I kind of want to get a little movable table like that except a metal one that I can kind of have right next to the lift because Trevor had one next to his left it was really nice to be able to grab tools off that table but I haven't gotten round of that yet so I've just been kind of using it on the floor it works though so I can't complain I wouldn't wait to say this until everything was done because I have a tendency to jinx myself by saying stuff what's ridiculously easy but everything was very straightforward I got everything to bolt up nice my one main concern was that when the seat goes far enough back like I said before that this would bash into this and end up tearing that fabric before I had a little stopper in here but it wouldn't work now because the seat so far forward it wouldn't go far enough back for me so if you can see it on here I actually bolted a little l-bracket here and this is the stopper that prevents the seat from going far enough back to damage the seat so it came out perfect I told Nicole it could take anywhere from 45 minutes to two and a half hours and it took like maybe a half hour so I'm pumped I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in another video but I forgot to put the link in the description this weekend on I'm going to an event at Sebring called the face off they have a solocom a tandem comm and I'm pretty sure it's also a car show too so it should be pretty cool for you guys to come out to if you're in that area I know I don't come down there that often I haven't decided yet whether I want to do the solo comp or the tandem come I know a lot of people doing the tandem comp have really competitive cars and my SR definitely can't necessarily hang with five hundred horsepower cars but I could put the sticky zesty nose on it so that might be fun but the solo compounds fun too because I don't know I like just going really hot boy and trying to do backwards entries and stuff but either way give me something put on that maybe I'll see you guys there I'll put more information in the description I haven't decided what I'm doing yet tomorrow if you're free to give me some input I do have the air bags the proper ones for my truck this time so that's something I'm thinking about doing just so don't look so do fee rolling around with my truck squatting like this so anyway I'll see you guys tomorrow thank you so much bye all right so since today's video is kind of short I thought it'd be cool to end it off with some a set of course the gameplay I'm just gonna do a solo run because if I do tandem it'll probably take a while to get some good runs and then tomorrow's video will not be good because all I've spent way too much time gaming so the best interest of everyone but I'm gonna try to get a solid solo run and then I can switch the third person outside car view which always looks really cool you have to throw the wheel so much in this game I don't really have to do that with my real car so this is kind of good practice for that and you don't burn through actual tires or clutches which is always nice alright we'll switch it outside car clothes I'll be here all day look at how cool this looks just go to replay drag it to the right spot pretty cool on this outside angle you can kind of watch your line and see what happens you see where you handbrake and if stuff looks good if stuff looks bad I think it's kind of good practice fun to watch too cool drifting I love that one and that one oh I thought it was gonna hit there and then we're doneit's been a while we're backing a BMW which can only be a
