The Feiyutech G6! The BEST Action Camera GIMBAL
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe feiyutech g6 a follow-up to my favorite action camera gimbal of all time as FEA tech finally given us a reason to upgrade from what I consider to be the gold standard for stabilizing my action camera and let's find out what's up everyone I'm never day dead and if I can figure it out you can figure it out now if you break down what I require to my video gear into certain requirements stabilization is certainly one of the biggest pillars out there I mean I drink a lot of caffeine and if I could replace my blood with caffeine I probably would but this caused some probs with camera shaking like heck when I hold them enter gimble's I love them period you've probably noticed that if you spent any amount of time with my channel and one of the mainstays is my out and about filming platform for the last year has been an action camera and a gimbal and the specific imbel I've been using is the FEA tech g5 hands down it's one of my favorite pieces of kit ever so when food tech reached out to me and asked if I'd like to check out their brand new g6 eye I was pretty good e to see what they've got so up front FEA tech did send me the g6 gimbal for free for purposes of this video they're not paying me for the video so if there's things that I don't like about it I'll absolutely let you know on to the video so before we delve too far into it let's talk about the basic specs of the g6 so we're all on the same page thankfully it's the basic gimbal so there's not that much that we're gonna talk about the FEA tech g6 is a three axis stabilizer gimbals designed to work with gopro action cameras and go pro style clone it has a tilting angle of 360 degrees panel of 360 degrees and a rolling angle of 320 degrees what that means they'll do that to your gimbal included is a five thousand milliamp hour battery capable of a reported 12 hours of life and as far as numbers go that's pretty much it physically it looks and feels just as good as the g5 with two really big notable differences first there's now a little OLED screen built into to tell you things like battery life the mode you're in and if you're connected through bluetooth it's neat but since my gimbal spends the majority of its life in a chest harness and I can't really see what's going on I can't really see what's going on anyway it's not that big of a deal for me but the second physical difference is a big one and one that I am happy to see the rear motor is actually offset below the viewing angle of the rear screen of a GoPro a lot of the newer gimbals are moving in this direction actually like the DJI Ronin s where this makes it so much easier to actually see the rear screen of the camera while operating the gimbal it just I mean it makes it just so easy if you're gonna have a rear screen you might as well be able to see her right and before when the motor was in the way it was a lot harder I really like this new style I don't care who came up with it first I really like this new style the dimensions seems similar but let's see if the most important accessory still works and success this is the GoPro karma ring adapter and it's for the you know similarly named GoPro karma gimbal but it works perfectly with the FEA tech gimbals and gives you the ability to mount the g5 and and now the g6 from something like a chest rig that I was talking about earlier that makes this thing so much more usable it's it's really great back to the device itself just underneath the OLED display you'll find the joystick mode dial and the record buttons if you do have a camera that supports the connection you can control it via the gimbal itself on the back you'll find a reset trigger and a pitch and a pitch tilt and a ended this way till I know I think that's pitch or yaw a roll the roll tilt one one of those three it does this thing other mounting options on the gimbal itself are two quarter inch tripod mount on the side and the bottom blah blah blah blah blah enough talking let's go outside and use it serious something that I really like about all these Gimbels anymore is that they have these apps that you can control with your phone and so you can have like a mobile cameraman so like look no hands like we're not talking to the camera this is a GoPro y chat so I probably look like I'm about six inches tall right now but it's pretty cool to be able to do all this stuff without actually having to physically touch the where the camera like I need a camera man like I need a camera operator I need an assistant that's what we really need and we're back so what right so what do I think about the FEA tech g6 well it's a great little gimbal but I mean I wasn't actually that worried about it with how good the g5 was I didn't really have any concerns that the g6 would be bad I mean I just think makes a good product I really thought this would be good I'm not really surprised at all I mean so long as it stabilizes the camera I won't have much room to complain about a gimbal that just does a good job the real question is if you already have an action camera gimbal is the g6 worth upgrading to so if you're like me and you already have a g5 does the g6 offer enough to tempt me to upgrade and the answer is no like I said action camera gimbals are pretty basic all that you really need to do is be lightweight durable and have decent stabilization which my g5 still has in spades if you really want to display with the battery life indicator or you need to get the rear motor out of the way to see the screen then I would recommend the g6 it is a great little gimbal but like I said if you already have a gimbal that works I would just stick with that there's not enough here to really tempt me away from my g5 thanks for
