EAT _ Golden Milk Turmeric Tea Latte

Happy New Year! I am so excited to be back and I thought we would kick things off with a healthy recipe I'm not the type of person to make a ton of New Year's resolutions but I do try to focus a little bit more on my health and happiness and a big part of that for me is relaxation.

So today I'm going to share with you one of my favorite ways to relax with this golden milk latte. I'm Meg and I'm passionate about finding ways to make life with kids easier in the kitchen so let's go through our ingredients. You're going to first make a turmeric taste and for that you will need some water, ground turmeric, ground ginger, cinnamon, some black pepper, and coconut oil.

And then for the latte, you'll need your choice of milk, cloves, cardamom, and honey. The first thing you need to do is make a turmeric paste on the stove. It's a little bit of work but it makes enough for a bunch of lattes in a small saucepan. Add your water and ground turmeric whisk those ingredients constantly until a paste forms which should take about 5 minutes at low heat.

Next, add your coconut oil, black pepper, which helps your body absorb the turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon, and then give your paste a good stir. My turmeric paste is off the stove I like to store in a glass bowl and you can see how thick it is. And now it's time to whip up our lattes, which I like to do in a blender to give it a nice frothy consistency.

So first, I'm going to pour my milk into the blender and I'm using goat milk today because it's easy to digest but I also love this with almond milk. Now I've already heated my milk on the stove you can also do it in the microwave you just want it to be latte temperature. The next thing I'm going to do is add 1 teaspoon of my turmeric paste right into the blender.

Next, I'll add a little bit of honey for sweetness, you can also try some maple syrup and finally a couple more spices that are completely optional but add a nice flavor. The first is cardamom which I'll sprinkle right in there and some cloves next. I'm going to blend it up now make sure you vent your blender and put a towel on top otherwise you will end up with a hot mess.

I'm going to pour the latte out so you guys can see what a beautiful color and consistency it is. Turmeric is incredible not only does it help with relaxation but it also has anti-inflammatory properties, helps with digestion, and is even immune boosting. Finally, I'm going to add a little sprinkle of cinnamon if you guys are looking for a healthy boost in the new year I highly recommend this golden milk latte.

Give it a try in the afternoon or for a little extra relaxation right before bedtime, this is Mommy's latte my lat and let me know what you guys think. Thank you so much for watching and I see you next time bye guys
