**The New iPad Air: A Drastic Difference**
The new iPad Air is a significant departure from its previous generation. One of the most notable differences is its weight, which has been drastically reduced. The device feels incredibly lightweight, making it easy to hold and carry around. This is a major improvement over the previous generation, where the tablet was heavier and more cumbersome.
**Components and Accessories**
The new iPad Air comes with a range of accessories and components that enhance its overall user experience. A standard wall charger and USB to Lightning connector cable are included in the box, along with a SIM removal tool. This is an LTE version of the device, so the SIM removal tool is necessary for activation. The pouch that holds all these accessories is designed to be compact and easy to carry around.
**Design and Display**
The display on the new iPad Air is a 9.7-inch diagonal with a resolution of 2248 x 1536 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch. This is the same as the previous generation's Retina display, which Apple claims is even better due to its improved manufacturing process. The front-facing camera has been upgraded to a FaceTime HD camera, which can capture 720p video. On the inside, the device is powered by an Apple A7 chip with 64-bit architecture and the M7 coprocessor.
**Battery Life**
The new iPad Air features a three 2.4 watt hour battery, which provides all-day battery life. The device's power and unlock button are located on the right side of the device, along with the new style volume rocker. On the left side, there is no ports or buttons, making it a clean and minimalist design.
**Speaker Assembly**
One of the notable upgrades in the new iPad Air is its speaker assembly. It has been designed to be almost identical to the iPad Mini's speaker assembly, which provides a more accurate sound output. The device also features a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack for added convenience.
**Setting Up the Device**
When setting up the new iPad Air, users are presented with a range of options and settings that can customize their experience. Users can set up their region, Wi-Fi network, iCloud accounts, and sync everything up to ensure seamless functionality. Once set up, the device boots into iOS 7 out of the box.
**Video Playback**
The new iPad Air's video playback is exceptional, with crisp visuals and clear audio. The device's IPS display provides great viewing angles, making it perfect for watching videos on the go. Video playback also happens within the browser, thanks to Safari's optimized rendering engine.
**Multitasking**
One of the notable features of the new iPad Air is its multitasking capabilities. Users can swipe up from the bottom of the screen with four fingers to access the new-style multitasking panel. This panel provides a range of options for users to manage multiple apps and tasks simultaneously.
**Storage Capacity**
The 128GB version of the new iPad Air comes with 115GB of storage capacity, which is significantly more than the previous generation's storage capacity. This is a welcome upgrade for users who need more storage space for their files, photos, and apps.
**Camera Interface**
The camera interface on the new iPad Air has been redesigned to provide a more user-friendly experience. Users can quickly access the camera app and switch between different modes, such as portrait mode and video recording.
**iOS 7 Features**
The new iPad Air comes with iOS 7 pre-installed, which provides users with a range of features and options that enhance their device experience. These include Notification Center and Control Panel access, as well as support for third-party apps and games.
**Comparison to Previous Generation**
One of the notable differences between the new iPad Air and its previous generation is its design. The new version has a completely different look and feel, with a reduced width and thickness that makes it easier to hold and carry around. This is particularly noticeable when comparing the two devices side by side.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's happening as it was my father I ended in and today we're going to be checking out and unboxing the brand new iPad air now what I have is the 128 gigabyte variant the previous version I had was 64 gigabyte and it ran out of space so I decided to get a hundred and twenty-eight gigabyte variant now this is a cellular version so you have a LTE enabled chipset on the inside and I can pop in a SIM card and travel the world with this iPad which is fantastic so I'm going to cut through the plastic over here really quick and pull the device out so let's quickly pull out the package and right here on top is the brand new iPad air now lifting it out it seems is really really lightweight it is a drastic difference between the previous gen and the antenna area is right over there you can see you have the standard wall charger you have a USB to lightning connector cable which is also standard in the box if I open up this pouch you have a sim removal tool because this is an LTE version and then you have quick tips for the iPad air some legal information and Apple stickers I have not seen Apple stickers in Apple products in a long time it's a treat to see those stickers there I'm going to close everything up and let's take a quick look at the device itself now as far as the display is concerned we have a nine point seven inch diagonal two zero four eight by one five three six pixel display which is at 264 pixels per inch which is the same as the previous generation Apple calls it a Retina display for the front-facing camera which is a FaceTime HD camera we have a 1.2 megapixel camera which does do 720p video on the inside we have the Apple a7 chip with 64-bit architecture and the m7 coprocessor and built-in is a three 2.4 watt hour battery now if you look at the right of the device you can see the mute on your switch and the new style volume rocker so if you move on down words you will see the new nano SIM card slot over at the top you have a noise cancelling microphone the log power and unlock button and at the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack the left side this time around remains clean unlike the last time the SIM card slot is on the right side so the left side is absolutely clean without any ports or buttons on the bottom you have the Lightning connector along with the new speaker assembly which is almost identical to the iPad Mini on the back you have a secondary noise cancelling microphone along with the main camera which is an iSight 5 megapixel camera with 1080p video and video stabilization let's quickly go ahead and power on the device and see what the interface looks like so I'm going to quickly run through the setup process set up my region my Wi-Fi my iCloud accounts and sync everything up so that I can be up and ready to show you what the interface looks like so once the device boots up you can see it's running iOS 7 out of the box we do have Notification Center and control panel access no applications are pre-installed so I can quickly open up Safari and show you that video playback happens within the browser of course you have the YouTube app that you can download but here's a quick glimpse at how video plays back on this device if not only does it look good it sounds great as well the speaker has been enhanced versus the previous generation of iPad and I do hear a better audio output now will do a better comparison later on but this is just a quick glimpse of how video looks thanks to the IPS display we have great viewing angles as well now you do get multitasking so you use your four finger swipe up you get the new style multitasking panel which is the new iOS 7 panel or nothing different or the other iPads have also gotten this the only other big difference that I do feel over here is the fact that this device is only 478 grams it's really lightweight really easy to hold and on the 128 gigabyte version we do get 115 gigabyte capacity on the inside which is fantastic you look at the camera you have the new style camera interface you can quickly jump over there and you can also see the new elements of iOS 7 so you can see the calendar you have the notification panel which will give you all the information now unfortunately nothing is synched up right now it's fresh out of the box so I can't really show you that much now in comparison the back is completely different from the previous generation of iPad you can see a color difference as well as a design difference you can also see the width of the new iPad air is much less compared to the previous generation and the new version is only six point six inches wide it's also just 0.2 nine inches thick which is seven point five millimeter which is possibly the sin establish out there the tablet is really easy to hold with one hand as you can see over here you can actually grip it like the iPad Mini it's really comfortable really lightweight if there's a big difference between this version and the previous gen iPad stay tuned for our future videos on the iPad air if you have any questions or comments do leave them in the comment section below do check us out and I can rot in
