Google Pixel Buds (2020) - Unboxing and Hands-on

**Unboxing and Hands-On: Google Pixel Buds Pro**

I recently had the chance to unbox and try out the latest offering from Google, the Pixel Buds Pro. These sleek and stylish earbuds promise to deliver exceptional sound quality, long battery life, and advanced features that set them apart from the competition.

**Comfort and Fit**

One of the standout features of the Pixel Buds Pro is their comfort and fit. I'm a bit of a sweaty runner, and I appreciate how well these buds stay in place during my workouts. The ear tips are designed to be customizable, with three size options that come in the box. This allows you to pick the perfect fit for your ears, ensuring a comfortable and secure listening experience.

I was pleased to find that the Pixel Buds Pro stayed put even after a few head bangs or sweaty gym sessions. I also tried taking off a sweater hoodie, beanie, and other headgear without issue - it's clear that Google has designed these buds with practicality in mind. The earbuds are also remarkably comfortable for extended wear, lasting around three hours before I start to feel a bit of discomfort.

**Audio Quality**

The audio quality on the Pixel Buds Pro is indeed impressive. The 12mm dynamic speaker drivers provide a rich and balanced sound that's satisfyingly loud. I was particularly impressed by the bass response, which is well-suited for music genres like hip-hop and electronic dance music.

One feature worth noting is Adaptive Sound, which adjusts the volume automatically as you move between quiet and noisy environments. This clever technology ensures that your music stays at a comfortable level, even in crowded or distracting spaces.

**Design and Durability**

The Pixel Buds Pro have an IPX4 rating, making them resistant to splashing water and sweat. While Google assures us that this protection is not permanent, it's reassuring to know that these buds are designed to withstand the rigors of daily wear and tear. The earbuds themselves are a pleasure to look at, with sleek and modern designs that fit seamlessly into any outfit.

**Google Assistant Integration**

One of the most impressive features on the Pixel Buds Pro is its integration with Google Assistant. With just a few taps, you can access your assistant and get answers to questions, send messages, or make calls. The earbuds also come with a touchpad that serves as the main control interface - simply tap once to answer a call, twice to reject it, and so on.

For music lovers, the Pixel Buds Pro offer a range of intuitive controls: tap once to play or pause your music, twice to skip tracks, and three times to rewind. The same controls work for both earbuds, making it easy to switch between them seamlessly. You can also use the "Okay Google" command to activate your assistant directly from within the buds.

**Battery Life and Charging**

The Pixel Buds Pro promise up to five hours of listening time on a single charge, although Google claims that with regular use, you can get up to 24 hours of playback time. I found that these estimates hold true, especially if you pop them back into their case for a quick top-up.

Charging is quick and convenient, too - simply plug the buds into your device or leave them on a wireless charging pad overnight. The included charging case provides an additional two hours of listening time, making it easy to keep your ears entertained all day long.

**Live Translation Feature**

Perhaps the most exciting feature on the Pixel Buds Pro is its Live Translation technology. This innovative feature allows you to have real-time conversations with people who speak different languages - simply say "Hey Google, help me translate [language]" and receive a translation in your ear or on your phone screen. The feature works surprisingly well, although I did notice that it can be a bit finicky at times.

**GadgetMatch Verdict**

Overall, the Pixel Buds Pro are an impressive set of wireless earbuds that offer exceptional sound quality, long battery life, and advanced features that set them apart from the competition. While they may not be the cheapest option on the market, their sleek designs and high-quality materials make them a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to upgrade their audio experience.

If you're an Android user, particularly a Pixel owner, then these earbuds are definitely worth considering. However, if you're an iPhone user, you may want to look elsewhere - AirPods simply work better with iPhones. Nonetheless, I'm excited to have the Pixel Buds Pro in my ears and can't wait to see what other features and updates Google has in store for these earbuds.
