Maono AU-PM421 Professional Condenser Microphone Review -- LGH

**Manos Au PM A421 Microphone Review**

You don't want to use this wind sock, it does come with a few extras that I love, including the Manu logo straight on the package. That's actually a nice added touch that lets you know it's theirs and not just someone else bundled in the package.

The arm and mount for the microphone going down through it is your typical $30 arm mount, which is more than adequate. I've never had any of these let me down if you're familiar with the newer ones they're all pretty much the same. The mount coming down to the shock mount is actually pretty decent; it's all metal and metal on the tightener.

I was very impressed with that, it has a spacer in there to space it out to this piece. The shock mount was very simple; you pull these two tabs and your mic comes out or mic goes in wherever you want to place it.

A couple of other cool things about the microphone itself are the USB cable. I don't want to forget about that for the simple reason that it's actually a very thick USB cable with a rubber finish on it, which gives me that they put some time and effort into making sure this microphone cable wouldn't give you any loss.

It does have a choke at the end or your computer plugs in. The microphone itself has all-metal build quality, from the metal mesh over your mic to the metal body of the microphone.

The microphone build quality is absolutely beautiful. This microphone is all metal, all metal right down to the metal mesh on top of it. That's something I've been seeing in higher-end microphones such as the one we're recording with my camcorder right now, which links in the description for that review.

A nice added touch is this feather-touch I guess heat-sensitive button to mute or unmute your microphone; that's actually beautiful very simple there's no clicking just pushing on your mic and your mics making all kinds of noise and your viewers are hearing that if you're live streaming, which we will be doing right here with our podcast.

With the idea of this podcast, we will be live. We have your mic game. The microphone felt like three-quarters volume was perfect for us; where you'd want to be during your podcast wasn't really on so at that point I found a hundred percent was really loud but crisp and clean.

That's something that's important because when I'm recording voiceovers, I want that crisp, clean, and louder volume. The reason for that is I can easily bring the volume down to match my video if it's lower as I noticed a half-volume that you might find that bringing it up is some sort of degradation in your audio; course if you have a higher version of that audio that you bring down, you don't seem to lose as much and it keeps clean.

I found overall in my quiet tests that the microphone did not fail me at all. I thought this microphone performed amazingly in that situation; hardly heard any background noise.
