Getting a First Look at the Clicks Case: A Comprehensive Review

As a long-time user of physical keyboards, I was thrilled to get my hands on the latest innovation from Clicks – a case designed specifically for smartphones. The case promises to bring back the tactile experience of typing on a physical keyboard, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype.

The ease of installation was one of the first things that impressed me. I slipped on the case at an angle and then pulled the lip over the top of my phone, and it fit perfectly. The material used in this prototype is not exactly what will be shipped, but it's clear that Clicks has put a lot of thought into designing a case that feels premium without breaking the bank.

One of the standout features of the Clicks case is its pre-programmed shortcuts. I was excited to try out the two shortcuts that Clicks offers: one for going back to the home screen using Command + H, and another for scrolling through browser windows by tapping the space bar. Both of these features were incredibly handy, especially when browsing media websites or reading specific articles.

Another feature that caught my attention was the placement of the delete key. I have to admit, I was initially skeptical about having the delete key below the P key on the keyboard, but after speaking with the founders of Clicks, I realized that this design decision was intentional. According to them, they designed the last row of keys to be shorter in order to accommodate more Corner keys, which are more easily accessible when your thumbs are on the outside ends of the keyboard.

The emoji keyboard is also a great feature, available with just one button press. This allows you to easily toggle between different emojis and express yourself in a more nuanced way.

In addition to its design features, I was pleased to find that both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models fit comfortably into my jeans pockets. The case is also very lightweight, making it easy to carry around without noticing it's even there.

When it comes to size, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a slight advantage over the iPhone 15 Pro in terms of button spacing. If you have larger hands or prefer to be able to mash your keys more vigorously, this might be a deal-breaker for you. However, for users with smaller hands like mine, the iPhone 15 Pro is the better choice.

The tactile experience of pressing the keys down was also noteworthy. While it's not quite as satisfying as typing on a physical keyboard, it's clear that Clicks has put a lot of thought into designing a case that feels premium without being too bulky or expensive.

As I continued to use the Clicks case, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. There's something about the tactile experience of typing on a physical keyboard that just can't be replicated with a touchscreen interface. However, I also recognize that not everyone will share my love for physical keyboards, and the Clicks case is clearly designed to cater to users who want to bring some of that experience back into their smartphone lives.

Speaking of which, we spoke with the Clicks team about their plans for future colors. While they did show us a prototype in a lovely shade of pink, it's clear that more options are on the horizon. Stay tuned, because I have no doubt that the Clicks case will be available in a range of colors and styles soon.

When it comes to pricing, Clicks has set its mark at $139 for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro, with $159 being the price tag for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. While this may seem like a lot upfront, I believe that the value proposition is clear: you're getting a premium case that feels designed specifically for your smartphone, complete with features that cater to users who want a more tactile experience.

Of course, the question remains: would I go back to using a physical keyboard on my smartphone? For me, the answer is yes. While I appreciate the convenience of touchscreen interfaces, there's something about the tactile experience of typing on a physical keyboard that just can't be beat.

So if you're like me and miss the feel of physical keyboards, or if you simply want to try out a new way of interacting with your smartphone, the Clicks case is definitely worth considering. With its range of features, premium design, and competitive pricing, it's clear that Clicks has hit on something special.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwe're getting a first look at the clicks case if you are someone who misses having a physical keyboard for your case and there are two colors available for this case let's see what it can do it was really easy to put the clicks case onto my phone I slipped on the clicks case at an angle and then just pulled the lip of the case over the top of my phone and it fit perfectly we were told told that the material that this clicks prototype was made of is not going to be the exact material that will be shipped but that they're really similar clicks comes with several pre-programmed shortcuts that users will love two shortcuts that I demonstrated were the ability to go back to the home screen using command and H at the same time and then also the ability to scroll on a browser window simply by tapping the space bar which was really handy when looking at different media websites or reading things on specific web pages I also thought it would irk me that the delete key is below the P key on the keyboard but it ended up being really intuitive when speaking to the founders of clicks they talked about how they actually brought in the last row of keys in order to have more Corner keys on the keyboard the reason for this is that your thumbs are most familiar with the keys on the outside ends of the keyboard shortening the last row make that more possible the emoji keyboard is accessible with a single button on the clicks keyboard you press that button and then you have the option to bring up different emojis so it's really easy to toggle back and forth so I've got both clicks models right here in my left hand I've got the iPhone 15 pro model and then over here on my right hand I've got the iPhone 15 Pro Max model you can see that direct side by-side comparison of those uh the iPhone 15 Pro Max it's got a little bit more space in terms of those buttons in terms of both the size of the buttons and space between the buttons so that's something that might be a deal maker or a deal breaker for you if you're someone who has larger hands or you just want to be able to Button Mash a little more vigorously then this might be the right pick for you I have small girlish hands and so the iPhone 15 Pro is the better model for me it's also the phone that I particularly went with the keys were tactile and it was really easy to press them down not as as much as a mechanical keyboard certainly but I knew when I was pressing the keys down and I also found that when I leaned into my fingers a little bit more and specifically pressed with my fingernail it was even easier to type I really really appreciate how both of these models are very lightweight getting the case onto the phone was pretty simple and also getting the case off of the phone so if you didn't want to have this case on while you were doing something like taking a phone call or watching a horizontal video on your phone then it's really easy to peel this thing right off and be able to enjoy your phone normally it also fits nicely into a front jeans pocket both models fit comfortably into my jeans pockets and so that was a pleasant surprise as well so we've got this banana yellow color if you want something bright and bold or if you want something a little bit more subdued there is this gray color as well we also spoke with the clicks team and there will be more colors that are hopefully coming out in the near future we did see a prototype of uh this little lady right here which I personally want uh but there might be some other colors that are coming out in the near future so stay tuned the clicks case will be $139 for the iPhone 14 pro and iPhone 15 Pro and $159 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max the 15 Pro Max is going to be available to ship first shipping
