Maso Bike Tail Light Triangle Battery Life - Not Great

A Follow-Up on the Masso Bike Tail Light: A Disappointing Reality Check

As we previously discussed, one of the claims made by the manufacturer of the Masso bike tail light was that it would last for 30 hours. This claim seemed quite unrealistic given the size of the battery and our skepticism about its validity. We even received calls from friends who shared our doubts about this claim, which only strengthened our resolve to investigate further.

In order to put this claim to the test, we decided to start using the Masso bike tail light on one of our bikes. We began by setting it to the slow flash mode, which is a gentle and subtle option that would allow us to observe its performance without putting excessive strain on the battery. As we started testing the light, we were eager to see if it would indeed last for 30 hours as claimed by the manufacturer.

However, our enthusiasm was short-lived. After just a few days of testing, we realized that the Masso bike tail light was nowhere near living up to its promise. In fact, we were able to get it past only two hours on any mode, with some modes even lasting as little as an hour and a quarter. This was a significant disappointment, especially given the relatively small size of the battery.

We tried various modes, including flashing, slow flash, quick flash, and others, but none of them seemed to have any impact on the light's lifespan. We were surprised that the manufacturer had claimed such a long lifespan for this tiny device. It's clear that they must have been joking or exaggerating when they made this claim.

We couldn't help but wonder what kind of battery technology would be required to make a light like this last for 30 hours. Lithium-ion batteries, which are commonly used in portable electronics, seem highly unlikely to be capable of such a feat given their size and weight constraints. It's likely that the manufacturer simply made an error or exaggerated their claims.

Despite our disappointment with the Masso bike tail light's lifespan, we did enjoy using it while testing it. We found it to be a handy and convenient addition to our bikes, making us more visible on the road at night. However, this wasn't enough to justify purchasing this particular product when there are many other options available that offer longer-lasting performance.

In fact, we've decided to buy a new, longer-lasting tail light that will provide better value for our money. We'll be reviewing this new light in the near future and sharing our findings with you. In the meantime, if you're looking for a reliable bike tail light that won't leave you stranded on the road at night, we recommend exploring other options.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: engood day and welcome to the channel in this incredibly short video we are going to do a follow up on this masso uh tail light for a bike so a bike tail light now one of the claims that was made by the manufacturer on the website is that uh this will last 30 hours which does seem silly now it's so small I mean the battery that's in there just it can't be lithium ion or not just can't do it I don't think and there have been a bunch of people that have commented on that I actually received some calls from Friends saying I don't think that's right bud so uh it's probably not right which I think I said in the video but regardless um let's find out I'm going to start this right now and I'm going to put it on the what I put it on which is the slow flash okay so it's a few days later and uh we have completed testing on this masso uh bike tail light the triangle uh and while we still really like the light and have decided to keep it we're pretty disappointed with the uh claim that was made of the life expectancy of this thing uh the battery in this is probably I'm going to guess 200 uh milliamp something like that it's pretty small uh because uh we have yet to get this past two hours on any mode so that's not good in fact we've seen it be as little as an hour and a quarter now uh we have tried four different modes um we tried flashing we tried slow flash we tried quick flash we tried you know whatever uh we even contacted masso and said you know what's up what how do you how do you possibly justify a 30-hour claim we don't actually expect it to be 30h hour uh everybody lies about their time fair enough but if it says 30 I'm expecting 20 and in my case I really want you know five something like that and uh yeah they gave me some baffle gab about how they're going to have to talk with their tech department and uh to see you know where that number came from blah blah blah basically it's fiction as uh what I think it is uh as I said we decided to keep this because it is a pretty handy uh little uh little light um to have but we're also going to buy a much longer lasting tail light and we'll put a review of that light whatever we decide to after we've finished doing the research in the top right hand corner so uh if you uh want to know uh you know what light lasts longer that still is different enough to catch people's attention yeah take a look at that video we'll have a link up there sometime soon hey if you found this video useful please give us the big thumbs up we'd really appreciate it if you have any
