Range Rover Velar 2018 SUV POV _ Test Drives

Welcome to a First-Person Test Drive on the New Range Rover Vellis

We have a quick look at this car and I want to show you how the handles come out when you press the button. This particular test drive isn't taking place on our normal track, but instead it's happening where this car is going to be driven most - in London, in a London suburb Northwest London.

I'll select the gear and get the different suspension settings should be perfect for a nice drive. This car has got air suspension if you have one with a V6 petrol or a V6 diesel engine, you get air suspension as standard. One of the great things about Range Rover is not necessarily the electricals; it's the fact that you sit up nice and high. You don't see that quite as high in this Velar as you do in something like the Range Rover Sport, but it's still pretty high. You can see my average mpg 35 miles per gallon which isn't bad for such a big car.

The rest of the interior of the car looks lovely; look at it very nice. Have a look around, and you can see over here the design - this one's got the upgraded leather with soft touch leather, and you get on the dash and the door tops feels very nice. Looks very nice. You've also got this two-tier screen so you can change what's shown down on this one here; just climb it.

This is one of the problems if I want to change the heat or something or the fans after then press this little button, so you are taking your eyes off the road for quite some time. It's not the best system; looks fabulous when you're still but when you're driving, it's not great to use.

Now we go, we take a right here - one of the good things about a Range Rover and why a lot of people like them is that when you're driving in London such as this they are fabulous over these speed humps. Really are good. The car is quite big and wide so it can be a bit awkward to navigate; this is the kind of thing that you encounter in London.

Look, I'm gonna have to squeeze past him somehow so I could go to the camera settings there we go - once again these icons are very small see and use those cameras. But as soon as I get some speed up there we go. You can see down here look certainly how close to the other cars; it's very useful that system. It's not standard of course on those models.

This is the Range-topping HSE, so it's got pretty much all the bells and whistles and some options on top of that. This particular car is actually costing 75 grand with options so it is quite bloomin expensive. So you don't have Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto with this car which is a bit of disappointment but you do have various apps like Spotify, stuff.

Now a lot of people probably be thinking you should be showing us how this car off roads but really this is where people are gonna be driving a Velar. You don't really barbell are for anything other than a fashion accessory so it's actually quite easy as driving in town visibility out the back isn't great. You've got some huge pillars there, these sweeping a pillars here - they've called them A Pillars by the way B and then C at the back.

Other key things about our car such as this is that it does look super cool; you know it's one of the main reasons that anyone is going to buy this car. I'm just gonna pull up, use my reversing camera, slot it into place playing a room here don't want to curb that out law so I'm gonna look at this wing mirror because their twin is that easy to curb and they are rather expensive.

There we go; I'll just shut that off by doing that. We're in the park turn it off and that will descend lovely there you go alright I hope you enjoyed this first-person test drive of the new Range Rover Velar leave with a look at it from the rear. There doesn't it look beautiful absolutely fabulous.

Now, if you click on the pop-up and you can go to Car Walk Out UK to compare offers on the Velar or any car for that matter; also click on the video windows for some more great content thanks for watching.
